I can hear a tapping noise as if metal is being tapped on metal , groaning. I try to open my eyes . My head feels heavy from the wolfsbane . I wince as I go to move when a searing pain goes through my wrists . I am lying on what looks to me a makeshift cot in a dark and damp cell .

“Psst” Comes from the door I drag my eyes up to meet the big bright red eyes of a female .

“Are you Maddox?” She asks at a whisper .

“Yes , who are you?” I say my voice sounds rougher as my throat is dry .

“Oh good , I am Dr Kalesa , Lyra’s best friend” I lift my hand to drag it over my face to be stopped by the silver chains that have me bound . Growling, I look back up to the small square opening where the female is smiling at me .

“Where is Lyra?” I ask .

“Oh yes , she says to hang tight and do not tell them who she is to you” I lift both brow at her , she smiles a knowing smile at me before she giggles and says .

“I need to go if Vlad or Kirill find me down here i'll be in trouble
