As I sit with these two clowns I keep playing the interaction between Lyra and this mystery guy. The way he called her Princess it was definitely not a pet name, who the hell is Lyra? My Beta and Gamma decide to go to play pool so I decided to ask Jared.

“Jared.” I called the bartender “Yes Alpha” “Tell me what do you actually know about Lyra?” At first he looks confused but then.

“Well Alpha all i know is what she has told me. She is staying at her Aunt's nest, Tessa i am sure she said. She has an overbearing father and brother but she never elaborated on anything else Alpha”

Tessa, Tessa why is that name sound familiar, I must enquire or put Atlas on to it. She most certainly has pricked my interest even if it is just to avoid her. My wolf is laughing at me, damn animal.

Another sleepless night, tossing and turning even after a run in my fur allowing my annoying mutt to take control ended up on the border to the nest Lyra is staying in. Chaos wanted to see his mate seemingly, fucker is obsessed with the vampire.

Groaning as my cock decides to twitch at the image my wolf keeps flashing at me. Dragging my hands over my face, I think a cold shower is needed before I head to the office . I have a meeting with my father to go over some contracts to do with the security company we own.

I swear if he starts talking about Una again I won't be held responsible for my actions . I had been in my office for an hour when my father arrived , I wasn't even paying attention until her scent hit me and Chaos began growling .

“Father, I thought this was a business meeting?” I say through clenched teeth, my anger starting to get the better of me.

“Enough Maddox, Una is here as she is wanting to have lunch with her intended” My father says as  Una takes the seat in front of me and he sits next to her.

“Shame you have wasted your time Una. I actually have a lunch meeting, and as for intended i already said i do not plan to wed anyone except my fated mate” I watch as her smile slips and my father growls at me .

“Una dear can you go find my Luna and i will have a word with my son” Like the good little follower she gets up smiles and nods at me then leaves, as soon as the door closes my father turns on me.

“Now you listen here boy, that girl is a good girl will make a fine Luna” He says as he starts to pace.

“I am sorry father but i will not and i want to make this point not be marrying anyone except my fated mate” My voice starting to rise to emphasise the word not.

Standing to lean on my desk and  glare at my father who was now turning purple in the face. Without another word he spun on his heel and left without closing the door. Standing in the door with an amused look on his face was Atlas.

“Don't” He starts laughing “I never said a word but I am guessing it has to do with Una the cling on” He says before bursting out laughing. Atlas has never liked Una, he has always said she is not as innocent as she likes to make out.

“What is it with you and her?” I ask with a curious smirk. “I have heard her talking to some of the Omegas like shit, i am telling you she is fake” He says matter of factly with a shrug.

“You said you had something for me to look into” He says as he flops down on the seat Una had vacated not too long ago.

“Ah yes, Lyra” Is all I got out before a Knowing grin split across his face. “Do not start, I just want some background on her as she is in our backyard” I say with a growl leaving him smirking like a smug ass.

“Well Boss, I myself was a little curious about our little Lyra” Before i realised Chaos lets an almighty growl slip from my throat. My wolf was ready to rip our Beta’s throat out for referring to Lyra as ours, she is not his. Atlas has his hands in the air in surrender with a questioning look on his face.

Groaning, I slump down onto the black leather sofa that sits under the large window, dragging my hand down my face before I lean back and close my eyes.

“Not sleeping again mate?” He says with no hint of amusement in his voice this time. Lifting my head so my eyes rest on him I contemplate telling him the truth but before I can even say anything he beats me to it.

“She’s your mate isn't she?”

I just take a deep breath and nod my head once before the door to my office bursts open and an angry looking Mother is storming in with a look that could turn you to stone. I do not need thi, not today of all days.

“Now you listen here Maddox i did not raise you to be disrespectfully towards women” She says as she glares at me hands on her hips. Standing up, i have had enough of this i think to myself.

“Mother not once have i ever disrespected you or any other female, now please excuse me i have places to go” I say as i side step around my mother. “Not so fast by”She says as her small hand wraps around my bicep and pulls me back towards her with a strength not matched with her tiny frame.

“Una has came all this way to see you, the least you can do is spend time with her” Sighing in defeat i look down at my mother.

“Ok, dinner tonight in town i'll send Dollar to pick her up. Now i need to go” I say as i kiss my mother on the cheek and leave.

Chaos is not a happy wolf at the thought of being in the company of another female thats nnot our mate. Well he will just need to get over it Lyra is not ours and will never be ours. Even as i think these words i know i am not only lying to my wolf but to myself.

As Atlas catches up to me i just give him some side-eye “Dont, i swear i am one second away from killing something” He lifts his hands.

“Man i was just going to ask if you want me to book somewhere?” I stop walking taking a defeated sigh.

“Sure, thanks man. This is getting real tired real quick with Una. I never agreed to this but something has me wondering why they are pushing and what is in it for him and the other Alpha?” I say to Alas as he whistles.

“Shit storm mate but I am sure you will sort it out. Now I shall go look into my Luna”

Before he can move far my hand shoots out and grabs him “Don't do that she is not my Luna, she is a vampire remember that”

He just has a stupid grin on his face before he gets on his bike. Fucking fate has a real sick sense of humour.
