I stand In front of the warriors and my men, watching as they all get pumped up about the on coming battle. My heart squeezes at the thought that some of these men and women won’t be coming back from this, I would be stupid to think we could take on Ahmet and his men and not have casualties.

Maddox stands off to the side chatting and giving orders to some of his men, they listen nodding at his instructions. A small hand touches my arm and I turn to see Lily's mother “This is for you Luna, It’s tigers eye to keep you safe” Handing me a tigers eye stone on a leather cord. I smile at the woman whose eyes still hold so much pain from losing her only daughter.

“Thank you” She holds it out for me to lean down so she can place the necklace over my head. Taking my hand in hers “May Selene bring you home to us safe, my dear” She places a cand on my cheek before turning to leave, swallowing the lump in my throat along with the guilt I still feel at her loss.
