Henry and Jewel became close and closer by the weeks and those weeks turned into months. This sparked up rumours from every one, even seniors from other class but Jewel didn't care about that. She like Henry and she was so certain he likes her just as much, if not more.
They went home for the mid semester break and still kept in touch. Pearl stopped trying to persuade her sister against being friends with Henry. The girls of her class also find the same but Henrietta supported their relationship. Jewel was glad that she was allowed to be with the one she likes in peace. Even though they were not official yet.
Soon, they came back from the mid semester break and were placed in their respective classes. Henry and Jewel were no longer in the same class because of their various divisions. That did not stop them from seeing each other because they still saw each other during the free period or whenever it was time for sport and he doesn't feel like playing any sport.
One day during sport, Jewel walked past an empty class and saw Henry leaning by the window, obviously lost in thought. She walked in and spotted his sketch pad on the table.
"Hey," she called to him and he turned around to looked at her. Jewel didn't miss how his eyes brightened up when he saw that it was her.
"You are not going for sport today again?" She asked him, folding her hand and resting her weight on her right leg. He shook his head, leaning again the burglary proof of the window. .
"Nah. I don't feel like." He replied as his eyes were intently trained on her, taking in to her out fit. She was in her purple house sport gear, a black and purple sport bra and joggers.
Damn, she looks hot!
"Oh, okay." Jewel nodded, trying to act normal when all she was feeling was heat from being under his deep and intense gaze.
"I also want to write some books." She added after a moment of silence. Henry nodded and Jewel smiled, turning to go, only to be pulled back by Henry.
She gasped as she collided with his body, Henry's hands wrapping around her waist. Jewel breath caught in her throat as she was surprised at what was happening. She has never been so close to any guy and here she was, in the arms of Henry.
Henry has always wanted her like this, this close to him, feeling the heat radiate from her body to his. Was it to early to say he was crazy about her. It just first term after all. But he didn't care. He wanted her. Just as much as she wanted him.
Henry looked straight into her eyes, seeing uncertainty in them. Hw could feel her heart beating hard. His hands tightened around her waist and he felt her skin beneath his fingers, felt how her body was reacting to even his slightest touch.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice in hushed whispers that sent sweet shivers down Jewel's spine.
"Uhm.. I..." She stuttered, her voice quivering. Henry smirked, glad at the kind of effect he had on her. Just like she had on him.
"I can literally feel your heart beating Jewel." He lowered his face closer her and her heart picked up the beat. He those his eye brows at her in question. She almost caused at him for acting oblivious to what he was clearly doing to her.
"I..." Jewel cleared her throat, pulling away from Henry grasp. Henry let her, but his eyes were still intently on hers.
"I should go. I'll see you later." With that, Jewel left the empty class room and made her way to her own class.
When she go there, she heaved a deep sigh before leaning her back against the wall. Her breathing was labored and ragged then she closed her eyes. She has never being held like that by a guy and it felt electrifying.
It felt good.
She saw the shadow hovering above her and she opened her eyes, looking up to see Henry looking at her, watching her with that intense gaze of his. She leaned further into the wall, unsure of what to do.
"Something happened in there and you felt it too." He stated withing mincing any words and Jewel looked on, not knowing what to say.
"Henry..." She muttered and her words caught in her throat when he moved closer. That irresistible smirk was playing on his lips and it really drawled Jewel in.
"You felt it too, didn't you?" He stated more than he asked and Jewel looked on, her lips parting involuntarily. He placed both his hands on either side of her, resting it on the wall and trapping her. He leaned closer till his breath began to fan her face. Jewel inhaled the sweet minty breath.
"I-I've n-never b-b-being t-thins c-close to a guy." Jewel stuttered.
"Really..." Henry drawled, leaning his head further in. Jewel's heart began to race. It looked like Henry wanted to kiss her and truth be told, she wanted to know how it felt.
But on school grounds?
Freaking out a little by this, Jewel swung her tiny hand and slapped Henry across the face. His face jerked side ways and he had a smirk on his lips when he looked back at her. Jewel was almost shaking as she didn't know how Henry would react.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean that." She quickly apologized and Henry started chuckling.
"You are tensed. I can feel it." He simply said when his laughter subsided and Jewel nodded.
"I'm freaked out. I've never done this before." She stated and Henry nodded, in understanding.
"I understand that and it's okay." He started and she nodded. "But I also know you want me to kiss you. Your body is basically screaming it." His voice went a notch lower and huskier, it sent currents of shivers down her spine.
"I... What if someone sees us..." She trailed off, sighing as his lips brushed her nose softly.
"Don't worry, teachers are gone home and everyone is on the field." He replied, easing her tension.
" Just follow my lead." Henry whispered and she nodded like someone in a daze. Henry smiled and leaned further in, brushing his lips to hers every so softly. Jewel sighed and relaxed her body, parting her lips for him to kiss her. She still couldn't believe that she was having her first kiss.
This is really happening. She thought.
"What the hell do you think you are doing!" An angry voice rang through the air and Jewel instinctively pushed Henry away. They both turned and looked at who had shouted only to see a fuming Pearl.
*****
"What do you think you are doing!" Pearl screamed out, matching towards Jewel and Henry in rage. She was so furious you could see the fumes coming out of her ears and nose. Henry quickly stepped away from Jewel so that he won't get her into more trouble. But what Henry didn't know was that he was the one in trouble.
"Pearl I..." He started to explain but a resounding slap rang through the room, indicating that Pearl had slapped him. Her palms were basically imprinted there. Henry groaned, cussing under his breath.
"What the fuck..."
"Pearl!" Jewel shouted, trying to defend Henry but Pearl flashed her a glare.
"How Dare you!" She snapped at Henry before looming back at Jewel. "You better get to my room now before I descend on you." Jewel gave Henry a sympathetic look before she scurried away.
"Pearl, I didn't do anything." Henry defended and Pearl snorted in sarcasm.
"You think I am blind and that that I saw was nothing uhn?! After all my warnings, you still want against my will, trying to kiss my sister. Are you insane!" She snapped at him.
"It's not like I tried to force her or anything!" Henry countered. "We both wanted it."
"Oh shut up Henry. You are talking like I don't know you or your reputation in this school." Pearl retorted back, shutting Henry up abruptly.
"Now let me warn you. If you hurt my sister, I'd do more than a slap to you. I'll inflict worst pain on you. You fücking know what I am capable of so don't dare me at all." Pearl threatened and sashayed away, leaving Henry in the pool of his own jumbled thoughts.

Henry got to the hostel with his ego bruised and walked towards his room. His room mates were present. It was Kayode that noticed Henry and first sighted his cheeks. He gasped dramatically, calling the attention of everyone's attention.
"Dude!" He exclaimed dramatically. "What happened to your cheek. It's swollen o." He added, watching has Henry plopped down on his bed. The other guys noticed as well. Henry hissed, hating the attention that Kayode had called to him.
"Guy, I'm fine. I just had a little accident." He replied, trying to downplay the entire situation. Ayomide scoffed and stood up from his bed to look at Henry.
"Abeg, stop lying to us. Abi we look like babies ni." Ayomide chided, looking at Henry skeptically. "What happened to you? Tell us na. We are your guys!" Ayomide added and Henry sighed, sitting up on his bed.
"Pearl happened." Was his simple reply. The guys looked at each other in utter confusion before looking back at him.
"Pearl, as in your ex girlfriend Pearl. Jewel's sister Pearl." Ademola spoke for the first time in a while and Henry shot him a glare at his very dumb statement.
"No oo, it's the Pearl from Crown lake academy." Henry replied with sarcasm laced in his voice. "Abeg, stop asking me jamb question." Henry snapped in annoyance.
"Sorry o. No vex." Ademola began to laugh at his expense. "Wait first. So, you and Pearl are back together that she kissed your cheeks so much it swelled up?" Ademola attempted another joke but this one didn't sell.
"Guy, that was fücking dry na." Kayode grimaced disapprovingly at Ademola who wouldn't stop laughing at his own dry joke.
"Dude, stop laughing. The joke didn't make any sense fa." Ayomide chided and Ademola stopped laughing for once. Henry kissed his teeth and plopped back down to his bed, laying on it as he stared at the ceiling of their room.
He really liked Jewel but things were getting in the way. The rumours, the numerous senior girls that liked him and wouldn't stop pestering him and the Pearl. He couldn't wait for Pearl to graduate. For now, he just wanted to focus on how much he liked Jewel and wanted to be with her.
Though, he needs to take it slow so as not to scare her away since she was pretty new at everything.
He did want to kiss her though.
"Now, you are thinking too much." Ayomide's voice sliced through Henry's reverie and he looked up to see that his friends were watching him intently.
"No jokes now and on a more serious note, what happened to your cheeks? What did Pearl do?" Ademola asked, more serious now.
"She slapped me." Henry revealed. He didn't miss the look of awe, mixed with shock and surprise on his friends face. Yes, it was quite a big deal that someone would slap Henry.
"Wawu! This one no be small thing oo." Kayode muttered in pidgin and Henry sighed, agreeing with Kayode.
"You guys haven't talking in like, how many months and she suddenly slaps you out of no where." Ayomide analyzed. "There must have been something you did." He added, looking at Henry skeptically. Henry exhaled again, getting ready to give the gist to his friends.
"She asked me to stay away from Jewel and I didn't. Today, Jewel and I were lost in the moment and she caught us. She got really angry and slapped me really hard." Henry explained briefly and the guys hummed in response.
"Why didn't you stay away from Jewel like she asked you too?" Ademola asked.
"Abi o. You sef, you like calling unnecessary wahala to yourself." Kayode stated and Henry scoffed. Instead of his friends to be supporting him, now they are chastising him.
"Guys, calm down and stop blaming the guy." Ayomide's chided them and they kept quiet then Ayomide faced a very conflicted Henry. "Henry, my guy, do you like Jewel?" He asked Henry who nodded in return.
"Yes, I really like her." Henry answered genuinely.
"Then it's settled then. All you need to do is wait for Pearl to graduate before you make your move, that way, you won't have to face her again." Ademola chipped in.
"I personally think this is a bad idea. Y'all should just stay friends." Kayode said and that earned him a knock from the guys. Henry smiled, appreciating his friends for their support and good advice.
Then he decided to heed to Ademola and Ayomide's advice.
But not until he gets his girl.
It was night prep one night when a Junior came to Jewel's class with a paper wrapped together. It was from Henry. The content of the letter said that she should meet him at the Visual art studio in the next ten minute. She got the message and waited for the time before she stood up from and seat and left the class room to the studio. Jewel got to the front of the studio and saw Henrietta waiting. She frowned. "Henrietta." She called and the latter turned to her. "Thank God, you were finally here. He is inside, he wants to see you." Henrietta chirped and Jewel nodded, opening the door and walking in the dim lit room. It was still quite so she could see her surroundings and she didn't miss Henry standing by the table. She smirked. "Are you trying to be romantic?" She asked, teasing him. He chuckled in response and moved closer to her. "Maybe. Am I doing a good job?" H
The end of first term came quickly and they had their annual inter house sport to crown the semester up. Jewel's house came in first position because the house was filled with several good athletes. Soon, the students went home for the Christmas break. Jewel and Pearl already had bad blood between them and didn't talk to each other. Their parents noticed the tension between them and tried every means to stop it all to no avail. Pearl had practically given up on Jewel and had left her to herself. If she gets hurt by Henry then it's on Jewel, not on her. At least she did try her best to warn her sister. This was why she didn't want her coming to the school in the first place. The school will taint her innocence and even though she didn't show it, Pearl was worried about her sister. Jewel and Henry kept close contact with each other and were always talking. They weren't offici
As usual, by 6:30pm in the evening, all the students moved from their hostel to gather in the dinning hall for dinner. Henry saw Jewel and waved at her and she waved back, her lips spread in a grin. Soon, they ate dinner, catching up on things they couldn't catch up on during the Christmas break.Jewel and Henry hugged good night after they arranged their things in class and Jewel made her way to the hostel with her friends. Henry was the last person to leave the class as he had forgotten one of his note books. As he moved out of his class, he saw Senior Ife at the Corridor. He looked and saw no one around except the both of them. He didn't like the look of things, especially when she had a devious smirk playing on her lips and was sashaying towards him, an aura of arrogance and pride hovering around her.
BACK TO THE PRESENT Henry's POVRiing... I took my eyes off the road for a few seconds to look at my phone that was ringing by my side. I saw that it was my mum and sighed. Picking the call, I connected my phone to my AirPods and cleared my throat, getting ready for whatever she wanted to say. Even thought I knew exactly what she was going to say. "Good morning mum." I greeted her, using the rear view mirror to look at my daughter that kept playing with the straps of her school bag. I smiled, my mind absent to whatever my mum was saying. "Akinola!" Mum's voice pierced through my reverie and I winced as her high pitched voice pierced through my reverie. She called me by my middle name which indicated that she meant business. "Yes mum." I answered her. "You are not listening to me, this boy
Jewel's POV"Excuse me." I didn't wait for any of them to reply before I dashed out of the office and practically ran all the way to the rest room. Immediately I got in, I locked the door and leaned my back against it, by breathing ragged and laboured. I walked over the mirror and stared at my reflection. Henry is here. As my boss. "This cannot be happening." I whispered to myself as I began to splash water on my face, trying to be sure that I wasn't dreaming. It was quite certain that I wasn't dreaming. I stared at my reflection as my mind began to go back in time. To everything that happened back at high school. I suddenly began to feel anger course through my veins. Not at Henry but at myself for being so naive to actually fall for a Player after so many warnings. And I hated Henry for proving them right. All of them.
Jewel's POVI honked when I got to the gate of my house and waited for the gate man to come and open the gate. I have had a long day at work and thankfully, I was able to avoid Henry because he was barely on seat today. That was literally good news for me. I still wasn't used to seeing him every day. As the gate man opened the gate and I drove inside, I began to think about him. Even though I hated to admit it, I missed him, so much. And seeing him again, all grown up, successful, more handsome, it sparked up memories of high school. Memories that I have tried over the years to bury. Those childish memories I still couldn't deal with. Pearl has been asking me about the new job, who my boss is and so on. She must not know it's Henry or she would ask me to quite. I told her that it was Laura instead. I just hope that one day she doesn't drop in my office unannounced and see Henry there. She would kill m
JEWEL'S POV"I want to resign." I stated matter-of-factly, slamming my resignation letter on Henry's desk. He looked up from the folded envelope to my face and back to the folded envelope, utter confusion written all over his face while I maintained a straight face.I had made do with the thought I had in mind. Putting my resignation letter together wasn't so difficult and I didn't tell anyone about it. I just wanted Henry to be out of my head once and for all. I was fine before he came into my life again. I wasn't going to let him affect me.Now you are sounding like he purposely came into your life. My subconscious mocked me."Why?" Was his simple question. Even thought his voice was calm, I could easily sense the other tone of worry and concern. That almost melted my resolve.Almost."I don't think I can walk here anymore. I'm not comfortable w
JEWEL'S POVI walked out of the office with the little angel latched unto my hand. She was talking, blabbering about something I couldn't hear because my mind wasn't not even attentive. I was still stunned by the fact that Henry had put his daughter in my care and at the same time, I was quite delighted and happy that he trusts me with his daughter. His daughter...It still seemed so surreal to me that Henry was married with a kid. And here I was having an headache over a married man. I was annoyed with myself that I was even thinking about him in the first place and I wanted to resign because of that, whereas I was one thousand percent sure that he doesn't even think about me in that way any more.Jewel you are so stupid. But who was he married to? Is it someone from Elite Academy? Is it Ife? I cringed at the thought hi
Third Person POV"Laura, it's so good to see you." Jewel smiled as she opened the door of the house. When Laura came in, they hugged. "Mehn! This your house gets me every time I come here. It's so massive." Laura looked around and sat down. Jewel chuckled as she struggled to sit down. "As if your house is not bigger. Abeg, what will you eat?" Jewel asked as she called on the maid. "I'm not hungry, let me just drink something," Laura replied and Jewel gave instructions to the maid who rushed back to do as instructed."How is work though, Henry will not let me come," Jewel whined and rolled her eyes"He cares about you jhoor. When you are carrying his baby, of course he won't let you stress yourself." Laura teased. "Working is not stressing myself Please," Jewel whined. "That's by the way sha." Laura waved the topic aside with
JEWEL'S POVIt took a while before my husband and I got alone time.My husband. I chuckled. It does have a nice ring to it. I couldn't help but smile as I started at my wedding ring. I was official his. No more obstacles."Why is my wife smiling all to herself." Henry's voice came behind me as he dropped his blazer on the chair. He had gone to see his family off. I looked at him, the smile not for once leaving my face. He walked towards be slowly, a glint in his eyes."I can't believe I'm finally yours." I muttered softy as he wrapped his hands against my mid rib, pulling me gently against his hard body."You had better believe you. You are mine...and I'm all yours." He said in a low and husky voice, his breath fanning my skin as he kissed my neck. My eyes fluttered close and I bit back against my lips to stop me from moaning out loud."I have so
Third Person POV"Marry me, Jewel," Henry said, on his knees with his hand stretching the jewelry box forward. Jewel gasped again and looked at the ring. It was a real diamond silver ring that reflected rainbow colors on the wall as soon as the sun fell on it. It was beautiful. Everything was beautiful. This was what she wanted. This was what she needed. "Henry..." She was utterly speechless. She didn't know how to bring her words out. On the other hand, Hakeem was scared that she might not be ready. That he might have read the signals too fast. That she was going to say no. "I love you so much, Jewel. I've loved you right from the day I met you ten years ago and I fell in love with you over again the second you walked into my office. I've never felt this way for any woman and though it's exciting, it's also very scary." He chuckled and Jewel joined him too, through her tears. Henry cleared hi
HENRY'S POVMy parents were having an annual get-together that coincidentally fell on my father's sixty-fifth birthday but I didn't want to go. Jewel was making me go anyway because she knew I couldn't say no to her. She came into my room to see me still seated, not dressed up. She wasn't dressed either but unlike me, she wanted to go to this party so she can dress up at any time."Baby, why are you not dressed?" She asked me, sitting in the bed beside me."I don't want to..." I started and she frowned at me, causing my words to cut short."You have started again, Henry. Why would you even say that?" She stated, looking at me with concern."I just don't wish to be among stuck politicians and business tycoons. I already have a lot on my plate as much as I can remember." I looked at her and she exhaled, bringing her hand to my face and stroking it gently."H
Recap from previous chapterOn cue Ademola came out of the theatre and walked towards them, removing the bloody glove and disposing them. Everyone sitting down, stood up immediately they sighted her."Ademola, how is my son ?" Taju asked even before Jewel could. Jewel could feel him trying to be calm but there was an edge in his tone."He is stable now, but he is unconscious. So, we have wheeled him to his private Ward and we just see what happens." Ademola said."Were there any complications. Is he going to be perfectly fine?" Jewel asked her and Ademola smiled."He is in shape. We were able to remove the bullet before it when deeper into the abdomen. It was so close to damaging his liver but we got there in time to remove it." Ademola explained and everyone heaved a sigh of relief."Can we see him?" Jewel made to move but Ademola stopped her.
Recap from last chapter. We were lying in each other's arms, naked. My fingers ran through Jewel's hair, combing through it."You don't have to do it tomorrow." I whispered, turning to look at her. She was staring at the ceiling."I want to." She replied, turning to look at me."It's time I teach that asshole some Manners."________________________________________Third Person POV"I'm so happy to see you made it." Tayo said, a sinister smirk spread across his lips and Jewel scoffed. "I fulfilled my own end of the bargain. You will do the same." Jewel replied snarkily and Tayo ch
Recap from the last chapter. I dashed into the police station and went straight to the interrogation room where they were definitely questioning Selene, ignoring the calls of the police men that stood by the reception table. I got to the interrogation room and met Henry, with the DPO and Selene handcuffed. Henry looked at me in awe. "What are you doing here?" He asked me. "She still hasn't confessed." He chipped in, pointing to Selene who just sat motionless in the chair, her eyes blood shot from so much crying. I began to feel pity for her. "That's because she didn't do it." I revealed breathlessly, shocking the hell out of them. Henry's eyes widened. "What did you just say?""I know who did it." I said and he urged me to go on. "It was Tayo that kidnapped Sharon."______________________________
Recap from last chapter. "I'm so much in love with you." He whispered and my breath caught in my throat. I'd never get tired of hearing him say that.Suddenly, his phone began to ring, breaking the spell we were in and he groaned, walking away from me to the living room where his phone was. Still awestruck, I began to button my shirt back up when phone was. Still awestruck, I began to button my shirt back up when I heard Henry scream in shock. Scared, I walked over to him to see him getting off the phone. "What's it? Why did you scream like that?" I asked immediately I got there. He looked at me, his eyes suddenly glassy with tears and his hand on his head. I immediately knew that something was wrong. Something bad. "Sharon is missing." He deadpan and all hell broke loose. ___________________________________
HENRY'S POVThe beeping sound pulled me out of the silent comfort of sleep. I opened my eyes slowly, reaching out for the source of disturbance coming from the bed side table. It was Jewel's small digital clock that was sounding an alarm. I dismissed it by pushing a button then going back to lie still on the bed, my eyes adjusting to the dim lit room.I looked beside me and saw Jewel was still very much fast asleep, partially covered underneath the sheets of the bed, wearing absolutely nothing. Her soft skin against mine as I didn't feel any form of material or textile between us.I blinked rapidly as the memories from last night surfaced in my mind, every single detail of it engraved in my head: I recalled everything, how our cloths had been torn off our bodies, how we had moved from the sofa in the living room and finally to her bed room, hands and lips exploring. I wonder how
