CHAPTER 2

“Why would you help me escape? You'd get in trouble.” “I hate the way Yoshim treats you, you're a good girl and you don't deserve it.”

I broke down into tears when he said that. I immediately wiped my tears and looked at him. “What is your name?” “Kay.”

“What's the plan?” I asked while staring deeply into his eyes.

I was back in Yoshim's club. I was a waitress but he sometimes let people have fun with me. I kept on praying in my head hoping Kay's plan would work.

I went to the tables and served them their drinks. I noticed there was a guy who was looking intently at me. He was sitting with one guy who seemed busy on his phone. I ignored it cause it wasn't the first time someone was staring at me.

I looked at Kay and I didn't see any signal, I guess I have to wait. I heard someone snap their fingers so I walked to attend to the person. It was the guy that was staring at me earlier.

His friend was the one who called me. “What would you like to drink?” “Tequila for me and margarita for him.” He said and went back to staring at his phone.

The guy that was staring at me earlier didn't say anything, he was just looking at me. I became uncomfortable.

I walked away from their table and gave their order to Tee, the bartender. “New weirdos?” He asked with a raised brow. “I think so, they scare me.”

“They're not scarier than Yoshim.” He said sarcastically. I ignored him and looked back at him to find him still staring.

The way he stared at me made a chill run down my spine. “Order done,” Tee said while placing the drinks in front of me. I placed them on my tray and walked to their table.

I served them and was about to leave when I heard his manly voice. “Thank you.” His voice did something to me but I don't know what.

I was able to see him better because the disco light started to reflect on his face. This guy was strikingly handsome. He had blue-piercing eyes full lips and a sharp jawline.

His shoulders were broad and I could see his huge biceps begging to be let out in his t-shirt.

I smiled faintly and walked away, I looked at Kay and he winked. Finally, it's time.

Kay paid two guys to start a fight for the club to be chaotic, and then we could use that chance to escape.

Rodrigo Pov.

This was the first time we were visiting a club like this. I hated the environment. I was looking around when my eyes fell on a gorgeous black-haired girl.

She had tied her hair in a bun with loose strands falling on her face. She wore a mini skirt with black boots.

I couldn't stop staring at how beautiful she looked even from afar. Her eyes locked with mine and she looked uncomfortable but I couldn't avert my gaze.

“Who is she?” I asked Fabio. “Who?”

“The girl in the skirt.”

“I don't know man, it's also my first time here jeez.” He said and resumed staring at his screen.

I looked at her and saw her exchanging looks with one of the guards. I don't know why but it annoyed me.

“I want her,” I said with a serious expression.

“What do you mean? You want me to kidnap her for you.” He asked sarcastically.

“Yes,” I said without hesitation. He shook his head sideways and snapped his fingers. The girl quickly came to our table. My eyes widened when she came closer and I saw her soft features.

She had big brown doe eyes with a cute upturned nose with Freckles on them. Her lips were rosy pink and her body was just perfect. Just my type.

She left with our order and started to talk to the bartender. “Hillary Monroe, 22 years old. Her dad is in jail for beating her mum to death. Gail is the name of her little sister.”

“How did you find that so fast?” “It's like you don't know me Rodrigo.” He whined.

“I knew I could count on you.” “Looks like she's had a rough life, she's been in and out of hospitals countless times,” Fabio said sadly. I felt a pang of pain in my chest.

I don't know why but I wish I could wipe all the bad memories from her head. She appeared with our order and placed them down gently. “Thank you.” I suddenly blurted out.

She looked at me and smiled faintly, I don't know why but it warmed my heart.

“Rodrigo, one of my warehouses had been ransacked by some people and most of our supplies had gone missing.”

“WHAT?” I roared.

Just then, I heard a glass shatter and two huge guys started to fight. This is bad. Gunshots could be heard and the place became chaotic. I glanced around trying to find Hillary but I didn't.

“Rodrigo this way,” Fabio spoke while directing me somewhere. But I didn't want to leave, I wanted to take Hillary along. That's when I saw her leaving with the guard she was exchanging looks with earlier.

“Fabio, I'm gonna follow them, get the car ready,” I said and left hurriedly.

Hillary pov

I kept on running with Kay as we manoeuvred our way through the messy crowd. Kay pulled me through and we finally got out of the club. We couldn't take the main entrance because Yoshim's men were there.

We were running through the dark alley, panting and gasping for air. Relief washed over me when I realised that I finally left that hell hole.

We kept on running when I heard a gunshot. I immediately halted and felt a warm liquid trickling down my arm.

I looked around and saw no wound, I glanced at Kay and my eyes widened. I immediately brought my hand to my mouth trying to suppress the scream that wanted to come out.

Kay held his arm as he bled profusely, he groaned in pain and fell to his knees. “Oh my God, Kay are you alright? Ugh, what am I going to do.” I said while hyperventilating.

I heard footsteps and looked up only to be met by those same devilish eyes. He wore a grin on his face. And to his left was Gail who clung to him like a barnacle.

How did he even know I escaped? “Haha, I overheard your little conversation with the guard, so I told Yoshim.” She smiled while talking.

“Gail, what the fuck is wrong with you?” I said with anger and tears in my eyes. She shrugged her shoulders and her mouth curved into a smile.

I pressed my hand on Kay's wound to stop the bleeding, he groaned in pain and I couldn't stop my tears.

“I should've gotten rid of you a long time ago,” Yoshim said while pointing a gun at my head. I closed my eyes and waited for him to pull the trigger.
