Lily's POV

I opened my eyes in clear frustration when the alarm clock didn't stop ringing like crazy. Reaching out with my hand, I searched around for it before pressing down the snooze button.

Then I rubbed my eyes and sat up, slowly looking around until my eyes stopped at the black alarm clock. Which clearly wasn't mine.

This wasn't my freaking room either.

Slowly, realization dawned upon me and I came to remember what had happened yesterday night.

But I didn't sleep on the bed, did I?

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

On the other hand, this room was very much like Ace himself. The walls were painted a light shade of grey and a big closet door beside the couch I remembered sleeping on. It smelled like him.

God.

I drifted my mind off from Ace and stood up. I really had the most satisfying sleep last night. Something about this room was comforting.

Or maybe it was just the fact that I hadn't been alone in this room last night.

I really needed a shower to get these thoughts out of

I needed to figure out who's the gangleader. When we reached the familiar Stone apartment, I internally breathed out a sigh of relief. After that horrifying encounter with those men, I was more than glad to be here.I felt safe here. The silence remained as we went inside. Once we were in the familiar suite, I shrugged off his jacket and placed it on the couch. My shirt was soaked and sticking all over my body

Lily's POV"It's so out of this world." I said exasperatedly, slumping my head on the table. "And hopeless."Stella had still not overcome her surprise on seeing the huge library, looking around in complete awe. We both had a thing for libraries. And the library here in Ace's apartment was amazing.I had been trying to search around in this library for things that could somehow tell me more about Valtor. But I hadn't found anything last night. So now, I really had to ask Stella to come over and help me out."Come on, Lily." She finally overcame her surprise and looked at me. "You think we could find something about him in such a huge place?"I inhaled deeply at that. That's what she didn't understand. I couldn't give up. I didn't want to give up.Her eyes trailed across my face and she must've seen the look of irritation on my face for which she sighed and nodded. "Did you try searching among the newspapers?""Newspapers?""Well, there must be some newspapers here in this huge library

Lily's POV Sitting in front of Grandpa was just like old times. The only difference was, back then he used to smile at me and talk to me. But now, he was just lying still -unmoving- with different types of machinery around him. He was looking healthier than before and that was something."Come on Grandpa, it's boring sitting here without you saying anything to me." I whispered, leaning back against the chair I was sitting on, beside his bed.Since I couldn't think of doing anything this morning, I had decided to pay Grandpa a small visit in the hospital. And thankfully, Zack had been kind enough to drop me here in his car.Well, almost.I had called him after having some breakfast. He had answered the call almost when I was about to hang up. And he had practically grumbled all along to not wake him up before noon. Ever.Somehow, I really don't know how, I got in his car and he was driving me to the hospital. Not to forget his early morning driving skills, jeopardizing my life. But st

Lily's POVThe next few days, as much as I tried to distract myself, all I could think about was him.Valtor Vencarlo. There was this something about that article Stella had sent me, that just didn't settle well with me. Of course, random killings never settle well with anyone. But the mere thought that he could've been somehow involved with my parents was disturbing. That's why I found myself being determined to find out more about him. Even though I clearly remembered Sofia's words,...I don't think Ace would want you to dwell in such stuff.I knew that. Ace really wouldn't like the thought of me snooping around his apartment in search of some information on a gang leader either. But that's the only thing I could've done.Like I said, I tried distracting myself. But each time I found myself thinking back to my parent's death. The same parents who left me without any answers. What else was I supposed to do?I really couldn't have ignored the uneasy feeling inside me. As much as I wan

Lily's POV Have you ever felt paranoid and panicked, knowing that something strange was going on behind your back, without you knowing anything about it?The moment I saw that paper pasted on that old wall along the sidewalk, I got the same feeling of dread. To most of the people, it looked normal or maybe even funny in a way. They probably thought that this was some sort of a joke, a prank.I thought the same, but then I felt the uneasiness clouding my chest.Who in this world would prank me?I had no such friends who liked pranking me. Nobody would randomly take a paper and write stuff on it that would freak me out. And by stuff, I meant,You don't know what's coming your way,Willows. There could be many people out here with the same name as that. After all, who would even want to threat me like that? I barely knew people, I never had any sort of bad relationship with anyone. And even though I was trying my best to reassure myself that it couldn't possibly be addressed to me, the

Lily's POVHarsh morning sunlight made me flinch. It was like somebody was deliberately opening the curtains to ruin my sleep. I must be dreaming. But then again, have I ever flinched before in my dream?I squeezed my eyes shut and without actually caring to look at whoever it was, I placed one large pillow over my face. Once again, I was about to peacefully doze off when I felt a warm presence at my side, grasping a hold of my arm and shaking me slightly.A serious death wish.I finally managed to open my eyes and pushed the pillow aside, finding a pair of silvery blue eyes quite near my face, which were slightly glinting as if enjoying this. Realisation took its time to fall over me and my eyes widened in surprise. I sat up suddenly and scrambled away, my heart slowly picking up its pace as well. Oh God."What are you doing?" I spoke up in disbelief. It took me everything not to cringe at my hoarse sleepy voice, which reminded me that I didn't feel sleepy at all now.Ace straighte

Lily's POVI couldn't help but wander around the entire mansion, admiring it all the while. Every single room was much more beautiful than the previous one. As I once again made my way in the lounge, I was just about to sit down on the big couch when I heard the huge wooden front doors opening themselves.I thought they were locked. Before I could've reacted, I saw someone walking in; a girl dressed in a short fitted dress with some very high heels. Looking at her, I immediately thought of Carla—Ace's so called girlfriend. But then I realised that this girl looked nothing like her. She was beautiful, but she didn't have that...mean aura around her. She was looking at me and smiling. I suppose Carla couldn't ever do that.Did she seem to know me even when I didn't know her mere name? She stopped few feet away from me."You must be Ace's girlfriend!" She squealed quite loudly, the excitement pretty obvious from her face.If that sentence hadn't been so nerve wrecking, I would've probab

Lily's POVIt was the busy view of London that graced my sight, right as I woke up the next morning--thanks to the giant glass windows in my room. It was warm in here, under the large duvet, but out there I knew it was a cold day.I sat up and tried rubbing off the sleep from my eyes.It had been exhausting, the party last night. I didn't even remember when I came back here with Ace (probably after midnight). And now it was morning. Too soon. Mornings just came too fast.Deciding to just suck it up, I got up from the nice, warm bed and went ahead to take a shower. It was a loud ringing sound that I heard right as I exited the bathroom. I stepped outside of my room in the long empty hallway leading to the lounge and looked around for the source of the ringing.Wrapping my arms around myself, I stopped near the couch and saw the landline ringing. Clearly, no one was coming to pick it up (there were no signs of Ace anywhere--well, except for his thrown jacket on one end of the couch), so

Lily's POV: When you decide something special, thinking that it'll surely go right and then it turns out into one of the biggest disasters. Okay, not that big but it gets ruined? How will that feel? Really bad. That's exactly what happened to me. Today was Ace's birthday. I had decided the plan probably weeks before. I had decided to make this day a really special one for him since all he does is well, work. I woke up extra early today. Still when I woke up, Ace had already gone to his work. Sometimes I think how can he even wake up so early? Anyways, that didn't matter. Because today it was best if he kept busy in his work beause I needed everything to be perfect today. Not even one mistake. So, the reason why I sacrificed my sleep this early is because I needed to make a cake. Cake only takes an hour. So why don't I make it later and sleep now? Well, that's because I am not your most perfect cook here. I barely know how to make pancakes. So you might guess what will happen wit

Lily's POV:I picked up the plates as grandma and grandpa went over in their rooms to sleep. Grandma had invited Ace over for dinner today. I had been kind of excited while on the other hand, Ace was making sort of excuses. He was darn nervous. But that hadn't stopped me from dragging him to this dinner.I went over the dishwasher as I felt an arm snaking around my waist. I didn't jump or flinch this time. Because I knew who it was.Things have changed since then. Almost a month had passed since Valtor's death, me getting kidnapped and Ace saving my life. I could never call him my father. Because he couldn't be. A part of me always said that he wasn't my father and this all was some sort of mistake. He had been so cruel.I would usually black out or get serious headaches because of the drug he injected in me. The doctors tried their best to neutralize it, but it still left some side effects. Even if I tried to forget everything that had happened, I would always know that a part of me w

Lily's POV:Beep...beep...beep.I tried opening my eyes but they were stuck. I tried moving my hand but it also wouldn't budge. I felt numb and weak and all my mind was screaming was to sleep. So, I gave away to sleep and everything went blank again. The next time I woke up, my eyes would still not open as if somebody had placed stones on them. I had already slept for I don't know how long. I didn't want to sleep anymore. It was like when you get that feeling of numbness when you wake up after sleeping so long. You can't sit up but you don't want to close your eyes too.I did everything I can to muster up the strength and opened my eyes slowly. It was hard adjusting my vision but soon I saw a white floor above me. No, it was the ceiling. A clear white ceiling.I blinked twice to adjust my vision."She's awake! She's awake!" Somebody squealed from beside me.I slowly turned my head to see Stella, looking at me worriedly. Her eyebrows were scrunched up in concern while she bit her botto

Lily's POV:Once again the door opened with a loud bang as shadows came in inside. I was in the exact same spot, where I had been before, with eyes closed."Wasn't that odd, now? First attacking then leaving all of a sudden?" A manly voice asked with curiosity. That one wasn't Daniel."That isn't odd. Who would give their own life for this slut? That Morwood chickened out." Daniel said with a chuckle.I must admit, that did bring a bit pain in my chest. It almost made me believe that Ace really backed off. But he wouldn't. He had promised me. I just needed to believe in him."Shouldn't she already wake up? I mean, that dose wasn't even that strong." The other person asked. That other person didn't seem to have that rude aura around him. Because he slightly seemed concerned. I felt a slight nudge on my shoulder which I didn't respond to.Why should I wake up when all I would do is watch their dumb faces until the truck stops? But I guess it wasn't a choice. I had to wake up. Daniel nud

Lily's POV:"Ace?" I whispered in his arms.He slightly looked up and nodded questioningly."Please don't leave me this time. I'm scared." I whispered pulling on the chains that were binding my wrists on the wall.Even if it was that dark, it didn't feel dark when he was there. It didn't even feel painful if he was here. He just made it much more easy to bear.He kept his chin on my head and kissed my hair."We'll go through this together, Lily." He murmured in a reassuring voice. That almost reassured me. "You will go, then?" I asked getting scared all of a sudden. He pulled me apart gently and caressed my cheek making me lean onto his touch."I will get you back, Lily." He whispered. At least, he wasn't leaving me for now. I leaned my head against his chest and closed my eyes. It was a dream. I knew that."I will get you back, Lily.".....Thud! Ace's POV:"What are you fucking here for?" I shouted at the cowering guard. My head was spinning with anger. If Zack hadn't stopped me, God knows what I would have done to him."Ace, calm down! You aren't going to help things like this." He said pushing me away from the guard. She wasn't there. She wasn't in that room when I got back. Why had I left her alone? Why had I not taken her to a much safer place?"I need to find her. God knows where she would be!" I racked my brain for a solution. The thought of her hurt and alone. That was enough to rise that anger again."Ace, you will find her. Get this all straight, first. This won't be easy, we're handling the biggest gang leader here. At least try to control your anger. It won't help." He said trying to make a point.Anger my foot. Right now all I wanted was to kill that bastard. Shred him into pieces if he even touched her.I won't let that happen."The police is already searching around the area. We will find her." He said moving tow

Lily's POV:The talk with my grandparents had been pretty normal. I told them everything that had happened in the library. They were partly relieved and partly concerned."I'm going to stay with him." I had said. They both had looked at me funnily as if they couldn't believe I was saying that. But in the end, they had accepted. So, here I was, back in the suite, sitting on the familiar couch and talking to Stella."You actually broke up with him when I told you not to?" She asked, probably frowning. Instead of accepting the fact that it's fine now, she was still stuck on that same spot. That's how she is."Sorta." I said apologetically.I was probably expecting one of her long speeches."Never mind, who cares? The thing is I'm happy you both are fine. Do you know what that means?" She asked excitedly.I was partly relieved that I got no lectures."What?" I asked curiously."We could go on double dates." She said, probably jumping.I rolled my eyes pathetically. She sounded more excite

Lily's POV:The first time I woke up, it was around 3 am. I looked around adjusting my vision until I saw who was in front of me. I don't know why, but every limb of mine blew out a sigh in relief when I saw his face. Maybe because a part of me thought that he would go away. But he didn't, which was good.I placed my fingertips on his face before moving them up in his hair, enjoying the feel of it. He furrowed his eyebrows unconsciously as if tensed about something. How can he possibly be tensed about something when he's sleeping?I smiled and snuggled closer into him, placing my head on his chest as he tightened his arms around me. I closed my eyes with the comforting sound of him breathing just beside me.The next time I woke up, it was pretty much the morning. And this time, Ace was all wide awake, tracing small circles on my back. I pulled away a little and looked up at him. He stared back at me, his eyes shining like he just saw something precious."I thought you weren't gonna wa

After the incident in the library, I felt pretty numb and useless. When he had taken me out from there, I'd reluctantly followed."Where do you want to go?" He asked, staring at me. I looked at the green shrubs cornering the library and thought for a while. If only I could go back in time. If only I could've done something."I don't want to go anywhere." I whispered.I wanted to jump off a cliff and drown at the same time. I had no idea what I would do now.He nodded slightly and started driving.
