Chapter 13: Reporting to an old friend!

We arrived in the Capital in great time and I am honest it was great to be home. I had enough of the hard road for some time. I dismounted from a tired Black Winter and a stable hand took him away. The stable hand was surprised that he did not try his normal tricks, and I smiled as my thoughts turned to Kitten.I had to order Sam to take Jamie to my Servants’ Quarters. I wanted to give her a guest room, but Sam suggested Jamie might feel more comfortable in the Servant’s Quarters.
I sighed and walked up the polished marbled stairs. The Servant bowed and led me to the King, who was in his private study. I knocked and opened a large oak door.The room was a medium-sized room, with bookshelves from floor to ceiling. The books were of different languages, some of which even I did not know! In the centre, was a large oak desk, where my old friend was sat down as he read some court papers.
