Lily's POV

I stir in my sleep when the sunlight shines on my face. I groan as I shift my head from side to side, trying to get myself to wake up. I open my heavy eyes slowly, waiting until my vision became clear. My eyes flutter, trying to get used to the brightness of the sun that woke me up. My head throbbed in pain, most likely the hangover that I was told about after having a lot of drinks. Boy, this was painful, it felt like I was struck multiple times on the head.

“Damn it-! My head.” I hiss as I groan in agony. “What the hell happened?”

I sit up on the bed as I rub my head to ease the pain. Looking past the hangover, I realize the bed that was in wasn’t mine. My eyes pop wide open when I also realize that this wasn’t even my bedroom.

I wasn’t going to lie; it was a very nice bedroom, like it was the master bedroom. Very big and spacious with cream-colored walls and white doors along with the window frames, it was very high-class. There wasn’t that much furniture in the room. Just two clothes drawers, two nightstands on each side of the bed, and a big flat screen TV mound on the wall across from the bed. The bed on the other hand was a king size, super soft and plush. Feeling the cooling sensation of the brown silk sheets felt like I was laying on a cloud.

As much as I admired the bedroom that I wish to have someday, I had only one question in my mind.

"What am I doing here?"

I take notice of my suitcase and bag was at the edge of the bed. I never checked into a hotel. At least, I don’t remember doing such a thing. I look at the alarm clock that was placed next to me on the nightstand.

'It’s ten in the morning?!'

I think back to what could have happened yesterday, since it is morning already.

“Okay Lily, retrace your steps. Remember.” It was hard to think with the headache still pounding hard, but I think hard to remember. “You arrived at the airport, you waited for your brother, you…. Oh, that’s right. You got dumped.” I wasn’t thrilled remembering that again. I know that I was getting close.

“Okay, what else? My heart gets broken, I run to the mini bar and drink, a cute guy talks to me. What was his name...”

Then it hits me.

“Jackson!”

He was there when I when I blacked out. He must have tampered with the last drink before giving it to me.

'Son of a bitch Lily, you should have been more cautious! Never again am I accepting drinks from a man, EVER!'

I mentally beat myself up over this, it was a hard lesson to learn. I didn't had much experience going out drinking with others. Didn't see myself as the party type, so drinking out was unfamiliar, I didn't know the all the rules. So this was on me for not being precautious.

I quickly get out of bed. I was relieved to see that I was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. But it makes my stomach turn thinking if he may have done something to me while I was knocked out.

'What could this guy want with me? Sex slave? Harvest my organs and sell the on the black market? Or maybe he’s a hot lunatic serial killer out for lonely women like me?!'

My mind sends me in a panic from all the possibly dark twisted thoughts of who Jackson might be. One thing for sure was that I needed to get out of here fast.

I didn’t think that trying the door would work, because most likely it would be lock from the other side. The window would be my better option in trying to escape. I rush towards it and lift it open. Looking around, I notice that I was on the second floor, and I was high up. I for sure was going to need something that’ll let me down safely.

But I also notice that wherever I was in, has a big backyard. And at the end of it, nothing but forest all around. I had to admit, it was a beautiful location. Maybe it was the scenery if it. How the clouds slowly move across the blue sky with birds flying happily around while singing their song. And how the crisp refreshing wind gently blows through the trees and flowers and hitting me with its natural scent of bliss.

It put my mind at ease. It probably would have been nicer to enjoy if I wasn’t trapped at an unknown location with a crazy hot guy around.

The sound of the door unlocking behind me snaps me out of my thoughts. I turn to its direction when it opens and my body tenses when Jackson walks in and sees me at the window.

“Oh good, you’re awake. I was starting to get worried that you weren’t going to wake up.” He lets out a huge sigh of relief.

“Jackson.” I give him a deadpan glare. I was so pissed, not just at him, but at myself for letting myself be swept by this guy in the first place. But I feel something else. My heart was racing, and my stomach was feeling strange, as if seeing him was making me nervous and flustered.

'The heck? Cut it out Lily, focus!'

"How are you feeling?" He shows a look of concern when he asks.

"How am I feeling?" I repeat returning a look in disbelief. "I am in an unknown place of a stranger who roofied me. I woke up confused, scared, and I have a ripping headache. How do you think I'm feeling?!"

"Fair enough." Jackson flinches at the rise of anger in voice that was spewing from my mouth.

"Where am I?" I demanded answers while I keep my distance. I was apprehensive to let my guard down, I needed to get the heck out of here and call for help. But not with him in the way.

"You're in my home, so you don't need to worry. You're safe here."

"That's not what I meant. Where is this place at? How far away am I from Portland?"

"We're an hour away. But as of right now, you need to take a moment to breath because you have been out for a while."

I glare at him in an unpleasant manner. I felt like I was stabbed in the back by someone who I trusted for a long time. But it was an unusual case given that I had only met this man for a few hours. So why does this hurt me more than it should? It makes no sense.

“You must be hungry after drinking so much yesterday, I brought you some porridge to ease that hunger.” He holds a tray that had two bowls of the tasty looking porridge along with a glass of water up for me to see. “Please, sit down and eat.”

Jackson walks to the bed, setting the tray on the nightstand and sits. He gestures me to sit beside him with a sweet smile on his face. But I wasn’t having it, no way that I was sitting beside my kidnapper.

“I am not eating anything you give me.” I speak out, crossing my arms as I stand my ground.

Even though I was serious, my stomach decides to betray me by making the loudest growling noise I have ever heard. And I mean loud enough for him to hear. Taking us both by surprise, he lets out a small chuckle.

'God dammit!' I flush with embarrassment.

“Your stomach says otherwise.” He teasingly points out. “Look, I won’t do anything to you. But if you don’t come over here and eat this yourself, then I will see to it that you eat. It’s either we do this your way or mine baby.” He tops his saying off with a smirk.

My heart skips a beat when he says that. My mind wonders what he could have meant by that. But I brush that out of my head, I didn’t want to think about that.

I reluctantly give in and slowly approach the bed, hesitantly sitting at the edge of the bed, keeping a distance. I didn’t want him touching me, but a small part of me wanted him to.

Jackson hands me the bowl of warm porridge and spoon. He waits for me to pick up a scoop and start eating.

“I’m not comfortable with people watching me while I eat.”

“I’m taking precautions, I need to be sure that you’re eating and not just throwing it away.” He states.

“Why do you care if I eat or not? Aren’t you going to sell me off or kill me?”

Jackson looked taken back from what I said, “What? What makes you think that I want to do any of that to you? That's not the reason why I brought you here Lily.”

“Well if that's not the case then why am I here?!” I raise my voice. “What do you want from me?!”

I stand up and throw the bowl of porridge to the floor out of anger as I demand for answers. The plate breaks into pieces as the porridge splatters all over. I breath heavily out of fear and anger, I was scared to be close to this guy.

"I don't know who you really are, nor do I want to know. But what you did is absolutely not okay, it's a crime. I don't care what your intentions are, I am not sticking around here with you!"

After my words of outburst Jackson takes a deep breath, as if he was trying to calm himself from my reckless actions.

Without warning, he grabs me by the shoulders and switches our positions at an inhumane speed. Pressing my back firmly against the headboard of the bedpost. I gasp from the sudden action, I didn't see it coming.

But my heart races from the sense of control and dominance that this guy was giving. And for some reason, I was liking it.

“I guess we’re doing it my way then.” His voice lowers a few octaves that almost made him sound like he was growling huskily.

"What?" Words stutter from my mouth as my brain tries processing what just happened.

Jackson lets go on my shoulders and grabs the second bowl of porridge from the tray beside us. Meanwhile, I was still frozen from shock. He scoops up some porridge and moves it up to my mouth.

“Eat.” Jackson demands sternly.

I could tell that he was holding himself back. It was clear that this guy would not take ‘no’ for an answer.

"I won't tell you again doll."

Unconsciously, I close my eyes and open my mouth, eating the porridge. I did not want him staring while I ate, but at this point there was no hiding from his intense gaze.

My eyes widen at the amazing taste, it was surprisingly delicious. Without thinking, I snatch the bowl out of his hands and start gobbling it up. I didn’t care if I looked like a messy eater. Either this was the best porridge I have ever tasted, or it was just the hunger from the hangover.

I was starting to feel much better. I was enjoying the food, perhaps a little too much. Because I accidentally let out a moan from one of my bites. And I could have sworn that I heard a low growl that makes me freeze in place.

I look up at Jackson wondering if he heard it too. Call me crazy, but I think his eyes just got visibly darker.

'Am I seeing things or is this really happening in front of me?'

Jackson on the other hand stares with intense focused, breathing slow and heavily. It was starting to freak me out a bit.

Jackson slowly leans in, almost hovering over me with his tall stature. Then he stops, looking down at me as he was just inches from my face. I felt my face heat up from the closeness of him, I just stare back at him, surprised and anxious wondering what he would do next. A small part of me wanted to find out.

He hands me the glass of water and what looks like two aspirins.

“Take this for the headaches.” He leans back, giving me space to take them.

I take the two pills and loudly gulp down the water since I was also very thirsty.

As soon as I finished, I unintentionally let out a loud and un-ladylike burp, shocking both me and Jackson. I quickly cover my mouth as my eyes grow wide. I look up at him, who was staring back surprised at my sudden action.

“Oh God...” I break silence. “Excuse me.”

I mentally hit myself against the head. That shit was so embarrassing, I wanted somebody to kill me now if not him.

Jackson on the other hand doesn’t say anything. Instead, he takes the empty cup from my hand and sets it aside on the nightstand. He then looks back at me smiling. He doesn’t say or do anything else; he just sits there watching me. Leaving this awkward silence between us.

“W-what?” I break the silence. This was making me uncomfortable.

“Nothing.” He calmly replies. “I’m just admiring your beautiful face.” Jackson reaches his hand out, softly caressing the side of my cheek with his thumb as he looks at every part of my face. “I’m just so happy that I finally found you.”

'Cue the red flags and sirens because we don’t have a killer or trafficker here. We’re dealing with a crazy stalker! Dear god, this guy is a psycho! Even if he is a down right hunk.'

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I ask in disbelief. I had a hunch at where this was heading.

To my fearful surprise, Jackson leans in close as he pulls me in by my chin, aiming for my lips with his. Out of panic, I move my head up to get out of his grasp and avoid his lips.

“No!” I beg, but that doesn’t stop him.

Rather than stopping, Jackson continues leaning in until his lips touch the nape of my neck. Lightly grazing over it and moving down slowly.

A breathy gasp escapes from the shock as I feel the pleasurable sensation of his soft lips planting feather kisses down my neck. His masculine arms snake around my waist as he continues his lustful intentions. Shivers go down my back when I feel a bit of his tongue grazing along with his lips.

The touch of his lips sent waves of electricity all over my body. I didn’t want to admit it, but it felt amazing. I was disgusted with myself for liking this, maybe it was the fact that a hot stranger was making me feel good. Or that there was something about Jackson that was attracting me to him. I just couldn’t out my finger on it.

What tops of this invasion of space was Jackson then digs his face in the spot between my shoulder and neck and inhales deeply, like he’s getting a big whiff of my scent.

“What the hell are you doing?! Get off me you creep!” I freakishly panic as I kick my feet around to push him off me. But Jackson doesn’t move an inch. Instead he grips my waist tighter which swiftly brings my lower half resting right on top of his.

MINE!” He growls loudly. Literally, the guy straight up growls like some animal!

I freeze out of fear, my heart racing in my chest. There were so many things wrong with what just happened.

I slowly pull my arms away as he goes back to violating my neck. His hands roamed around my lower back to my discomfort. I jolt which leads me to accidentally let out a breathy moan due to moving against his already hard bulge between his thighs which was sending my mind to the edge.

"That's a good girl. Keep moaning for me baby." He huskily moans with pleasure as he becomes more aggressive with his kisses.

Jackson holds me tighter and presses me back against the headboard while still in between my legs, slowly and sensually grinding against my hot core that was driving us both deep in moaning pleasure.

I open my eyes and try to get a grip of myself. As much as my body was greatly enjoying the sensation of his grinding, I knew that this was going to get more out of hand if I didn’t do something to get away fast.

Through dazed eyes, I look over to the tray with the empty glass cup I drank out of earlier, and this stupid idea pops up in my head. It might not even work with how I see it play out in the movies, but it was worth a try.

I swiftly but carefully pick up the glass when Jackson was still too distracted in his own euphoric pleasure. Then I gently place my other hand on his soft dark hair and lightly stroke him.

"J-Jackson" I moan out, trying to sound as calm as possible. "Please look at me so that I can kiss you properly."

Even though his lips were driving me crazy and making me breath heavy, I had to get away from this man.

I feel his tight grip loosen up and his face moves away from my neck. He looks to me with a smile growing on his face. But that changes in a split second when I smash the glass cup against the side of his head as hard as I could. The glass shatters into a million pieces. Sending Jackson to lay sideways on the bed unconscious.

'It worked... Oh my god it worked!' I mentally cheer myself on.

Well, not a hundred percent. Smashing that cup against his head gave me a few cuts on my hand in the process, which luckily wasn’t that painful. But at least I can get away and call for help now.

I spring off the bed, put my shoes on, and run for the door, leaving my luggage behind as it could slow me down.

Before I could leave, I hear Jackson groan and stir around trying to gain consciousness. I look at him in taunting manner and I say aloud.

“That’s for drugging, kidnapping, and harassing me you psychotic son of a bitch!” And I land the insults by flipping him off.

I rush down the halls and go down a flight of stairs. This house was huge, almost like a mansion. This could not be Jackson's home, could it? It wasn't bad for a man in his mid-twenties who runs a marketing business. Well wherever the hell I was, the only thing that matter is getting the hell out of here no matter what.

I was almost at the bottom of the stairs, when I hear an angry Jackson yell my name from the room we were in. And boy he was not happy.

Out of the rush of adrenaline, I jump off the last few steps, nearly stumbling over when I land.

I turn the corner and run straight down another hallway to get to the front door, but someone pops out of the corner near the exit. We crash into each other hard, causing me to fall back due to the impact.

"Oh god! My Luna, are you alright?" He asks out of shock and panic.

I look at the guy that I crashed into. He was tall, strong, and good looking with brown eyes and wavy black hair that was swept to the side nicely. He was wearing a navy-blue shirt with jeans that accentuated his muscles and abs.

Before I had the chance to answer, an angry Jackson can be heard from the top of the stairs as his loud footsteps grew louder with every step.

“Lily!” He yells as he rushed down the stairs.

I let out a squeak of fear and I get behind the guy, using him as a human shield. I don't know why, but I just did. The guy was caught off guard at my action. Jackson turns the corner, we both could see the visible cut on the side of his where I struck him, and his blood leaked out of the wound. He sees me behind Sean, and his eyes go dark again. Literally, his eyes were normal a second ago. This makes the guy and I both jump back in terror.

"Sean." Jackson growl under his voice. Again with the growl. He spoke with every step he took closer towards us.

"Get. Away. From. My. MATE!" He yells that last word with every ounce of anger and demand possible.

'Mate???Did I hear that right? What the heck is going on here?'

This Sean guy stiffened with fear, slightly shaking. "It's not my fault Alpha, she won't let go of me. I'm serious!"

Sean was right. I was griping tight on his shirt, leaving some blood stains. Every time he tried moving away, I move with him and pull him back with me to get farther away from Jackson.

"Stay the fuck away from me you psychotic perverted freak! Just let me out of here and leave me alone!" I yell at him.

"What the hell's going on here?!" A female voice speaks from behind us.

I turn around and see a girl my age pop from the corner where Sean had come from. She was pretty with a petite body. She has beautiful sea green eyes and creamy peach skin clear of blemishes, along with beautiful plump pink lips, and a cute button nose. She looks so gentle and innocent like a sweet angel. She also has light brown hair that reaches down to the center of her back. Also wearing a long maroon sleeve shirt and black leggings.

I immediately let go of Sean and hide behind her. Through frightened whimpers, I cry out to her.

“Please help me! I was drugged, kidnapped, and violated by that crazy guy there.” I point at Jackson. “I don’t want to be here. I don’t know where I am. Please… I’m terrified.. I want to go home.” I break into tears and cry on her shoulder, shaking violently as I desperately cling to her. Feeling my legs giving out like they were made of Jell-O.

The beautiful brunette seemed thrown off by my words. I look up to meet her beautiful gaze and can see the immediate change from concerned into anger when she heard those three words that no woman should ever go through.

She snaps her head at Jackson.

“You did what to her?!”

“I didn’t kidnap her Alice, I brought her home.” Jackson defends himself.

“That is not what I asked! What the fuck did you do to her?!”

“Nothing!”

Alice places both hands on her hips and shakes her head. "That's not how she's putting it." She points to me. "What the hell is wrong with you Jackson? How could you do that to this poor girl? Let alone our new Luna? Are you a fucking moron? Do you understand the kind of trauma you're putting on her? I don't care if you're the Alpha, that is not how Aunt Bethany and Uncle John raised you! You should fucking know better!"

I watch as Jackson stands there looking away with a guilty but stern expression while Alice was laying it on him. At this point, his eyes were back to normal.

'Okay, hold up. I take some time to think. What is going on here? Jackson's change of eyes, his possessive nature, people calling him "Alpha" and calling me "Luna", those weird growls when I'm around him. Everything that has happened so far is like we're in some werewolf book..... huh? This could not be it.'

Alice turns to me and gives me a tight hug. "On behalf of my idiot cousin, I truly apologies Luna. I know that this has been quite the traumatic experience for you, but I can assure you he won't do anything," She emphasizes as she turns to look at him with a sneer." that stupid to scare you again." She smiles sweetly while wiping away my tears, making me feel at ease.

"T-thank you, Alice." I sigh in relief. But I flinch in slight pain when I accidentally clench my cut-up hand, I had forgotten that I injured that for a moment.

Alice notices my bloody hand and gasps in horror.

"Oh my god! Luna, you're hurt. Come on, let's get that cleaned and patched up right away."

She places a hand on my back and escorts me down the hall to the nearest bathroom. We pass by Sean and Jackson. He and I make eye contact for a split second, the look in his eyes showed genuine concern for my injured hand. I look away, ignoring him as I let Alice lead me away from him to get this wound treated.

Half an hour goes by of Alice picking off the tiny shards of glass that stuck to my hand, rinsing off my bloody hand and pouring alcohol do disinfect the cuts after the bleeding stopped. Now the four of us are in the living room with Alice and me sitting on one side of the couch, and Sean and Jackson across from us on the other couch in silence.

Sean watches as Alice bandages up my now clean hand, while Jackson on the other hand was on his phone switching his focus from it to me, and back to the phone. He had already cleaned his wound and had had an ice pack resting against him to help with the pain and swelling.

It was difficult to not look around without having to accidentally meet his gaze again awkwardly. So I just put all my focus on my hand and to Alice.

We hear a knock at the front door, and it opens.

“Knock Knock! We’re here!” Announces one of them in a bright, cheery tone.

I look to see who it is and was surprised to see four attractive guys walk in the living room.

The guy that announced their arrival was cute. He was tall and well fit with a nice golden tan. His hair was dirty blond in a wavy, almost messy-like hair style. He has brown eyes and a sharp jawline. You could also see there his facial hair grows around it and above his lip, but it looks nicely shaved. He looked so slim and fit that you could see more of his Adam’s apple than the rest of the others. When he smiles, you could see his perfectly white teeth.

The way he smiled showed a lot about his character. He looks like one of those mellow surfers who would say “Gnarly!” quite often and spend most of his time in the water and drinking fresh coconuts water all day. And he had this vibe to him that showed that he was a fun guy to hang with anytime.

To his right was a guy that was shorter than the rest. He was thin like the dirty blond, but you could also see muscle on the right places. Not only was he shorter than the rest, but he was also paler. But with his fair complexion, it suits him well with his light brown eyes. He has silver hair with black roots that was styled over to the side, giving it volume. He has some sharp features such as his jawline and cheekbones that adds to his slim figure.

Next to that guy was another dirty blond, but with striking blue eyes. With peach skin and a more built figure. He had a no expression on his face, so I figure that he was the serious guy of the group. Nonetheless, he was attractive.

And last was the tallest one out of them all. Not only that, but he was the most built than all of them. He was a hot Latino with his dark skin and black short hair with a fade cut down the bottom, but he was the best kind of Latino with his green eyes. With a gene trait like that, anyone would get lost in eyes like those.

All four of them were hot, I had to admit. But immediately recognized them from before. I remembered that they were there at the airport with Jackson when I bumped into him.

"Hey guys. Good timing." Sean goes up to them and high fives and fist bumps all of them.

After that, they all take a seat or stand by with us.

"Luna, this is the rest of our group. We're all best friends of Jackson and are a part of his council in running this pack." Introduces Sean.

The cheerful dirty blond steps forward. "Hello Luna, my name is Chris. It's so great to officially meet you." He smiles like an enthusiastic child.

"I'm Alex." The short one spoke next with a slight friendly smirk.

"My name is Taylor." The blue-eyed blond half waves with a barely visible smile.

"And I'm Esteban." The green-eyed Latino finishes with polite smile.

I wave to them. "Hi, I'm Lily."

"There." Alice finishes. "Just give it a few days and you'll be all better."

I thank her. And she speaks again.

"So how did you injure your hand like that? Those were pretty bad cuts. What did my cousin do to you? Did he do that to you?"

I awkwardly look at Jackson, he looked away tense and displeased.

"Um.." I start anxiously. Everyone's eyes were on me now. "I smashed a glass cup against his head." I point to Jackson; I didn't want to dare look at him.

“Woah, seriously?” Chris was the first to speak. I nod in reply.

“For what reason?” Taylor asks, crossing his arms as he and the others wait for me to answer.

“It was self-defense! He got too close for my comfort, then he pins me against the headboard and started kissing my neck and holding me against him... A-and other stuff I'd rather not say!” There was no doubt that my face was heating up of embarrassment. I never thought that I would have to be defending myself to a group of hot strangers.

The group of guys exchange looks, with Chris lightly smirking in surprise.

Alice grabs a pillow behind her and chucks it at Jackson without warning, getting a clear headshot.

“AGH!” He yells in surprise. He looks back to his cousin with an outraged and shocking expression. “The fuck Alice?!”

“Shut up moron! You deserve more than a pillow chuck to the head.” She glares daggers at him. “Esteban.” She calls to him.

Esteban hums in response unbothered by her outrage.

“What was that word you taught me the other day? That word meaning bastard or asshole?” She asks.

“Cabron.” He answers with a clear and fluent Spanish accent.

“Yes that! CABRON!” She glares back at Jackson with a bitter expression. Then politely thanks Esteban for his help.

Jackson had no other words to say. At this point he gave up arguing with her.

I hide my face from the humiliation of telling all these guys and Alice what was going on, but they needed to hear the truth. So I continue.

“He wouldn’t let go of me, so I smash a glass cup against the side of his head, knocking him out for a moment and I get away. Injuring my hand in the process.” I hold up my hand to show them.

“But are you okay now?" Esteban asks.

I nod. "I am now, thanks to Alice."

She smiles with a wink. "Anytime honey."

Jackson then cuts in. "Well don't worry about me guys, my head injury isn't that bad. So there's no reason to freak out about it."

Alice looks to him with an arched brow. "Good, because you looked like you definitely deserved it after what you've done."

"What? Am I not allowed to hold my mate?" He argues.

“Don’t you dare act like the victim here Jackson. You may be the Alpha, but that doesn’t give you the right to be a complete perverted jackass.”

As the two cousins continue arguing, many thoughts run through my mind about this whole situation.

“Okay, everyone please stop. Hold on for a second.” I interrupt. I had everyone’s attention. “As much as I’d hate to interrupt this back and forth between you two, but I need some answers. Who are you people, really? And why am I here? Did you kidnap me because you want money or something? Let me just clear that up for you, you’re all wasting your time because I am not from a rich family.”

“With all due respect Luna- “I was quick to cut Sean off before he could finish.

“And another thing I want to make clear.” I look at all of them to make sure that they were paying attention. “Stop calling me ‘Luna.’ That is not my name. It’s Lily, not Luna.”

“Lily,” Jackson begins as he gets up from the couch and comes up to me, crouching down so that he was at eye level with me. “Whatever accusations you think of us is wrong. I didn't bring you here because we wanted your money, I brought you here because you're my mate. I brought you home to be by my side, and to be my pack's Luna.”

Words could not express the amount of confusion on my face when Jackson tells me this. I take a second to think of the proper way to begin, because what I am not going to believe the words that will come out of my mouth.

“Are you serious right now? What I'm getting from all of this, is that you want me to believe, and correct me if I'm wrong. That you all are in a pack, like a pack of wolves? And that you are the alpha of this pack, and I am your mate, therefore making me the pack's Luna?”

They all immediately nod their heads.

“Yes, that pretty much sums it up.” Responds Jackson.

“Well that was easy to explain, she got it all on the first try.” Adds Chris.

Everyone looks back at me, all waiting for some fort of response or reaction from me. At this point, I couldn’t contain my laughter anymore.

“Oh my God, are you freaking kidding me?! That’s a good one!” I continue laughing as I tried to catch my breath. I mean, these guys were joking right? Any person who reads werewolf fiction novels could know this in a heartbeat. And I should know, for I am one of those people.

No one else was laughing, especially Jackson. He just kept a straight face.

“Oh come on. You guys don’t think I’m really going to buy into this, do you? Werewolves don’t exist, they’re nothing but a myth.”

“Lily,” Alice speaks up. “I know you're finding all of this very hard to believe. But believe me when I say that we don't ever expose ourselves to humans for our safety and theirs. What we're telling you is the truth. My cousin is the Alpha of the Blood Stone Pack, and you're his mate. You two are meant for each other.”

At this point I knew this was pointless arguing with them about something impossible, so I figured why not just throw them off their guard and prove them wrong.

“Okay.” I begin, standing up from the couch. “If you people really are wolves that you claim to be, then prove it to me by changing into one, right now.”

Nobody moves from their spot. They all just look to each other hesitantly.

'I knew it.' I let out a scoff. 'This is all a set up.'

“Just as I thought. Since neither of you are going to prove it, then this is clearly a cruel prank towards me set up by either my friends or family. Well great job everyone! You all got me good!” I announce loudly in the house, clapping my hands sarcastically as I make my way out of the living room and towards the front door.

But before I had the chance to leave, Jackson grabs me by the arm stopping me in my tracks.

“We can’t let you leave Lily.”

I glare at him. “You better get your hands off me before I hit you on the head again, but this time with that lamp.” I point to the old-fashioned style metal lamp that looked heavy enough put them in a coma. At this point, I would consider doing it in a heartbeat. “I am going home, and you are not going to stop me.”

"I don't care if you believe us or not, I’m not letting you leave this place. You are my mate Lily, and this is your home now. So you're going to stay here with me whether you like it or not.” He says in a more dominant tone, staring into my eyes sternly as if he was having the last word in this argument.

But I wasn’t going to let him win, if he wants to keep me here then I might as well make it difficult for him. I was going to fight back even if it kills me.

I was ready to argue back, but the expression in Jackson’s and everyone else’s face changes. The look on their faces were a mix of shock, confusion, and worry. Jackson on the other hand looked like as if something was going terribly wrong.

“Shit!” Curses Alex. “They broke through? How?!”

Everyone was on edge. Jackson lets go of my arm and immediately turns to them, forgetting about our argument we were having.

”Alice, take Lily back up to the room and lock the doors behind you. Alex and Chris, you both stay here and help Alice protect Lily, I'll link reinforcements to help you asap. Sean, you and your team go ahead and help the guards defend our borders. No spot will be left unguarded. Esteban and Taylor you're with me to track the rogues that have snuck in. Now let's move!” Jackson moves me towards Alice.

They all answer in unison. “Yes Alpha.” Before carrying onto their orders that Jackson had strangely given them.

I just watch in confusion and frustration as everyone separates in different directions. ”Hey, wait a minute! What's going on now? I'm not playing along with this anymore!” I grab Jackson by his forearm, stopping him in his tracks.

Jackson places his hands on my shoulders before speaking again. “Lily, listen to me carefully. I need you to stay here with Alice while I’m away. I ask that you please do not go near the windows and doors. I will be back as soon as possible.”

With that, Jackson plants a kiss on my forehead and runs out the door. I was speechless. The way he looked genuinely concerned worried me a bit. Neither him nor the others were acting like this is all staged. So does this mean that I’m really in danger? What was going on that has them all on edge?

Alice takes my hand and pulls me out the living room. “Hurry Lily, we have to get you to safety!”

As she pulls me up the stairs, Alex and Chris stay downstairs barricading all the windows and doors of this big mansion-like house the best they could.

Alice and I rush down the hall, and I could see the master bedroom of Jackson. It was obvious that she was going to lock me back up.

”Oh no. I am not going back in that room to be held prisoner.” I break away from Alice's grip and run back downstairs. If there really is danger coming, then I needed to get out of here fast.

”Lily no!” She shouts as she chases after me.

I rush back down the stairs and make a break for the front door that wasn’t blocked yet. But before I could reach it, Chris grabs a hold of me and pulls me away and moves us back into the living room.

“Don't Luna, it's not safe for you here!” He urges with warning of concern.

"What is she doing here? Alice, get her back upstairs!” Urges Alex.

”Fuck it's too late, they're here!” She exclaims in fear.

All three of them move me to a corner away from the windows, going in a defensive stance, looking all around. This was freaking me out.

”What are you guys do-“ The front door suddenly breaks wide open in the most dramatic way. The force that broke it down had broken the door into pieces before it hit the floor. I screamed from the surprising action.

We all look to the door in intense silence. I was freaking out inside, worried about what would be coming in through that door.

A tall, thin man who looks to be in his mid-twenties slowly walks in, stepping onto the broken wood pieces of the door. If I am honest, this guy is the most intimidating but breathtaking man I have ever laid my eyes on.

This man was a mix of Caucasian and African American, with beautiful dark skin shade in between milk chocolate and caramel. He has naturally long curly brown hair that reaches down to his shoulders and refined strong facial features that makes him look like a model right out of a Vogue catalogue. Strong hazel eyes and plump lips with a sharp jawline.

He wore all black from his leather jacket to his ripped jeans and black boots that added to the style of a biker gang. One thing that made it noticeable that he was ripped was how he doesn’t have a shirt underneath his open jacket. His six pack and large pecks were visible for all to see. This guy was hot, and he wasn’t afraid to show it.

The guy looks to us expressionless, but his look changes when he spots me behind Alice, Chris, and Alex. He gives up a smirk as he places his hands in his pockets.

“So this is Blood Stone’s new supposed Luna? A human girl?” He observes me up and down. “That’s interesting.”

”You stay away from her Marcus. Tell your rogues to stand down and walk away now!” Alice demands with a hatred expression.

”Aw come on Alice, I just want to say hello to the new Luna. And to give her a little welcome gift.”

I hear a low but loud growl come from outside. Did he bring dogs with him?

”We won't tell you again Marcus. Walk away now or we'll tear you apart!” Chris threatens. It threw me off a bit because his cheerful and optimistic vibe had turned dark and scary cloud of aura. A complete 180 degrees.

”Okay fine, we'll leave. But not until you hand us the girl first.”

“And what makes you think that we're going to hand her over to you?” Alice seethes with venom in her tone.

Marcus lowly chuckles. ”Because if you don't, then we'll tear you apart. Besides, Ian is dying to meet her. And by the looks of her bloody hand, I’m sure he'll have such pleasure getting to eat her.”

I look at Marcus in a very disturbed expression. “EAT?!”

”THAT'S IT!” Alex growl and charges at Marcus.

Chris tries to stop him, but it was too late. Before Alex got any closer to Marcus, something big breaks through the window pouncing at him. With how quick the surprise attack was, the figure grabs a hold of Alex and sends him all the way past the dining area and into the kitchen, out of view to us. I scream again from this.

”ALEX!” Both Alice and Chris yell but they don't move.

”What a fucking idiot. He never learns, does he?” Marcus laughs while he shakes his head. “Now then, are you going to reconsider? Or do either one of you two want to go next?”

As he says this, the figure that tackled Alex appears before us. And I could not believe my eyes.

"Oh. My. Gosh..." The quiet words of bewilderment fall out.

This wasn’t a dog; it was a wolf. An abnormally huge one. It was the size and length of a small couch. It’s fur was a dark grey color and looks vicious. It looks to us and bares it’s huge sharp bloody teeth, looking like it was ready to attack us next. Two more huge wolves came in to join the other one, cornering us. Meanwhile Marcus stands there watching in satisfaction with his arms crossed.

This was crazy, I wanted to deny all of this. I want to wake up in my bed and call this a crazy dream or nightmare from reading too much werewolf fiction novels. But this sadly isn't a dream. This is really happening. There are huge deadly wolves right in front of me, and they want to take me.

This is a living nightmare.

Lily's POV I wanted to wake up from this nightmare. I wanted someone to pinch me so I could wake up back in the plane or back in the house with my beloved family. But I suppose life wants me to suffer and to be scared for my life. I didn’t know what else to do. Alice, Chris, and I are backed against the wall surrounded by big scary wolves with Marcus standing there observing our actions with a smug look of satisfaction on his face. “Last chance you two, hand over the human and I just might let you two live.” He negotiates with a hint of sarcasm. Either way, it’s a loss for us. “Why don't you go fuck yourself Marcus.” Chris lowly growls, with his fists clenched so tightly you could see the veins popping out starting from the back of his hand all the way up to his forearm. "Because we're not going to hand Lily over to you, not while I'm still here." Though I couldn’t see Chris's face since I was behind him and Alice, but just the way he stands with his large stature and his chest ri

Hospitals are one of the places that I try to avoid at all costs. Though it is a safe place to heal and recover, it's also an eerie place that makes me uncomfortable thinking about people who weren't so lucky. I do feel fortunate that my case wasn't that serious. Jackson and I spent another hour with Dr. Torres running a few more tests on me. I follow directions in patience meanwhile Jackson sticks by my side in silence throughout the whole process, aside from answering to the Dr. of course. Soon after the tests were complete, Dr. Torres comes back in the private room with the results saying that "Well miss Stephens, the good news is that the drug substance is completely out of your system. So you're going to be fine". Jackson and I let out a sigh of relief, although he was more relieved than I was. The poor guy looked like he was being eaten up by his guilt from all this. "Well that's good to hear." I add. "However, due to how long you have been out for, the substance combined wi

  • His Mate   Chapter 5

It was a beautiful scene to behold. The sun shines it’s warm yellow rays with fluffy white clouds slowly passing by, the breeze refreshing me with it’s clean crisp air mixed with pine and freshly cut grass, and the birds singing as they go about their day like I was. It was so peaceful. I smile as I take it all in, leaning back on the white blanket that was set down on the grass. It was a calm meadow surrounded by forest, but the meadow was extended for miles, showing the mountains over yonder. I wasn’t sure why or how I got here, but all I knew was that I liked it, it felt like home. “Lily!” I look over to my younger sister calling out to me from a distance. “Nancy?” I lightly gasp in surprise. It wasn’t just her, my parents, my younger and older brother, my whole family was together, standing before the forest. They were all waving to me with big smiles on their faces. “Mom, dad, Zack, Cesar…” My voice breaks. I was emotional. Seeing their faces made my heart clench with joy,

  • His Mate   Chapter 6

Jackson's POV As I let out a long heavy sigh, I rub the temples of my head in frustration. I'm sitting at my desk in my study writing boring papers for boring Alpha responsibilities. Yes some people think that being the Alpha is great and all, but like I said it’s all responsibilities with the meetings, planning, protection, and paperwork between the other allied packs. So much planning, it really stresses a guy out. It was amazing how my father was able to manage such a responsibility all while being at war with Ian threatening the pack. I glance at my phone for the hundredth time, it was nearly five in the afternoon. Alice and Lily still haven't comeback yet. I tap my foot and my pen as I keep staring at the time slowly move. It was getting late. "Why isn't she back yet? She should be here by now!” My Dominance growls on in my head preventing me from working. He had been getting more and more restless by the hour. I mean, who could blame him? They have been gone for more almost

  • His Mate   Chapter 7

I stir in my sleep when I feel the bed shift. I turn to my side and continue my sweet slumber. But it was shortly enjoyed when I feel a hand on my arm and gently shake me. “Lily.” Jackson huskily whispers. “It’s time to get up.” I groan as I turn face down with the covers over my head. “I don’t wanna go today. Sleeping in.” “You have to get up baby. Alex and Chris are waiting for you at the grounds, and I have to get going. You said you’d commit.” He argues. He stands there at my side of the bed watching me groan and complain. “But my body is so tired and sore. Please don’t make me go Jackson.” I sleepily beg him. I don’t know how he can get up every day before the sunrise without feeling tired or looking like crap. I know if I didn’t get enough sleep, I’d end up looking like a withered zombie. I am not a morning person. “But it’s Friday. Just go today and you’ll have the rest of the weekend off.” He was very persistent. I know that I promised that I’d commit, but this was like a

  • His Mate   Chapter 8

Well this was a wild turn of events. I just got eaten out by my lust-hungry werewolf mate, and I liked every moment of it. I was ashamed of myself for not controling the situation that would prevent what had happened, but too late now. Jackson's parents were already here, and I was a mess down below thanks to him and his overpowering urges. I come out of the bathroom after cleaning myself up and changing into my fresh clean panties Jackson had left for me. It still flusters me about what had happened back there. This was the first time in this whole month that Jackson has been so assertive; pushy and demanding would be the more appropriate word for what he did. But now that I think about it, he and I haven’t gotten intimate with each other since I’ve arrived. I did say that I wanted to take our relationship slow, and he’s respected that. I guess this was making it harder for him to behave, and he’s reached his limit. The things he could do to me if his parents weren't visiting. Th

  • His Mate   Chapter 9

"Rise and shine Lily! We got a big day ahead of us!" The sudden sound of the door slamming open, and a loud Alice announces with a boost of energy was enough to break me out of the dream I was having that I most likely do not remember. I wake up out of panic and sit up with wide eyes. My bed head was messier and everywhere than usual. My fast breathing gradually slows down when I realize that I was in my bedroom. The golden rays of the morning sun peek through the curtain, stinging my tired and sensitive eyes. I groan and pull the sheets over my head, curling up into a ball to go back to sleep. But Alice wasn’t going to let me have my rest. She marches over and yanks the sheets off the bed. I whine and place a pillow over my face. "It's too early. I’m going back to sleep." I muffle from underneath. "And you know it's rude to barge in someone's room like that, especially without knocking first." "Well Jackson said that he tried waking you up ea

People say that dreams can have significance. That there’s a meaning behind it all. The person who’s dreaming about it just must figure it out, piece it all together. Some people can figure it all out in a snap while others take longer, leaving them completely clueless in the process. It makes them think they might never figure it out, until they come face to face with it in real life. Whether it’s from insecurity, self-unawareness, or a prediction that was yet to become reality. Some never see it coming until it’s too late. I’m back where I was last time. The cliff, the sound of water, the feeling of fear overwhelming my body. I was out of breath once again, my body felt heavy and weak from the apparent running I’ve been doing. It was all familiar, I was aware that I haven’t felt like this in a long time. Which meant that I was aware that I was running away from a familiar something. I was staring down at the

Some spend almost their entire lives to find the right person to love, while others don't have to search for long. It's all about that special connection two people feel towards one another. And to love each other no matter the flaws or past. It took me a while to learn that when I met Jackson. After everything he and I went through in being together, we made it through together. • His Mate   Chapter 23

I was all alone in the same meadow field that was in my previous visions. I was self-aware of this being a dream now, although I hadn’t dreamt of this in a while. But something about this time feels calm and relieving. I don’t know what drives my mind to it, but I immediately start running into the woods. Heading in the same direction as many times before as if it was burned into my memory. I make it to the sport that has given me terror and anxiety. And boy has it changed for the better. What used to be a dark void with an endless pit of darkness transformed into a spectacular and wonderous sight. Trees and mountains extending as far as the eye could see with the blue sky and fluffy clouds slowly guiding across with the soft breeze. It was alive with nature and good spirits. And the waterfall was finally visible a few feet away, looking like rushing crystals falling all the way down as it glistens with the sun.

  • His Mate   Chapter 22

3rd POV The ear-popping sound of gunfire and bullet hole appear on a tree behind Lily cuts her off mid-sentence. Immediately, she and Jackson run into the trees and duck for cover. When the firing continues a few more times. "Oh Lily~! Come on out now." They hear Ian call out in a calm yet bone-chilling tone of voice. The haunting muse of Ian calling out to her made Lily's stomach turn in the most unpleasant feeling. "You brought a gun to a fight!? You fucking asshole! That's such a cowardly move!" She calls him out. "Now now Lily. I'm not going to kill you with this gun." He reassures. "You shot at me!" She argues back. "Well it certainly grabbed your attention to know I was here, didn't it? And like I said, I won't kill you with this gun. I'll just kill you with my own two hands." The way he had said the last part was sinister, almost eager-like, it sent shivers down Lily's spine and made her stomach drop.

  • His Mate   Chapter 21

3RD POV Her whole life, Chloe was told that she would be queen one day by her father. But she was also told that in order to receive what she wanted, she would have to work for it. And her goal was to become the Luna. She was fully aware since at a young age that everything comes with a price. But she would often ask herself. “Is this what I really want?” “Of course you do. I wouldn’t be going through all of this trouble if it wasn’t for you Snowflake.” Ian paces back and forth in front of her with his hands behind his back, deeply plotting his next move. “Now that John’s son has taken role as Alpha, it would make things slightly simpler for me- For you, my little Angel.” He glances over to his daughter. Chloe, her father, and Ian’s secondhand man Marcus all reminisce upon each other while in his office having an important meeting. “But daddy, I’m not sure if I’m h

  • His Mate   Chapter 20

There was nothing anyone could do in a situation like this, we were outnumbered. With rogues in both human and wolf forms. If we made one wrong move, then it would be the end of us. With Jackson and John badly wounded, Bethany low on weapons, and Alice, Chris, and Alex at an unfair advantage, we have no other choice but to wait for the time being. Rogues surround us as they drag us deeper into the woods with Marcus taking the lead. Jackson holds me close to him as we keep moving. He may be injured, but he still gained as much strength to protect me growling at any rogue who would so much as glance in my direction. I even manage to catch one giving me a look of indecent lust in his eyes as he licks his lips. I cling to Jackson more as I look away with disgust. It scares me enough to imagine what all of these rogues were thinking about doing to us, it made my stomach turn with bad chills running down my spine. We keep moving forward with Alice, Chris, Alex, Chloe, and

  • His Mate   Chapter 19

It's been about an hour since we drove from Portland. We were about less than fifteen minutes away from home. Alice has been going 70-80 miles per hour just so we'd get there sooner, and she would have gone faster. But the last thing we needed was for the patrol cops to stop us on the way. Throughout the whole ride, we all tried coming up with a plan to find and rescue Jackson and the others when we arrived. But we also ruled out the many possibilities of getting caught by Ian or the rogues. Everyone argues with who's plan we were going with, but this was getting us nowhere and we were coming up to the entrance to the town very soon. I couldn't even tell them about the scent mask because of them constantly talking over me. "We need to take the third exit so we could enter the town from the back, we'd get to the pack easier than to just go straight through town." Alex states "Guys-" I try to get their attention, but Chris interrupts. "Are you k

3 years earlier I finally make it home from another tiring day of school, I was exhausted. But at least it’s Friday. With graduation less than a month away, the stakes were high for me. I may have managed to get good grades all year long, but the SAT’s tomorrow were going to be my make-it or break-it point. It all comes down to whether I pass with a high score which will get me accepted to any of the universities that I applied for. But if I didn’t do well, then it would make it harder for me to get into any of them. I’ve studied so hard for this, I was all tired out and in need of some time away from homework and studying. But as much as I wanted to do that, I just couldn’t. And like clockwork, it was time for me to clean the house. From the living room to the kitchen, from sweeping up every dust particle, to washing every last one of the dishes. The house remained spotless for another day. Now it was time to p

Chapter 17 edit I couldn’t believe it. I never thought that I would see him again any time soon. But here he is, standing right in front of me. “Liam?” I stare at my ex-boyfriend with my mouth open from the surprise appearance. Liam looks at me with a relieved smile. His light brown eyes were a bit red and puffy, but that could never lead his good looks astray, with his fair colored skin and chiseled jaw. His brown hair was a stylish mess swept to one side and he was wearing a loose grey hoodie with blue jeans. He looked like a hot mess, like he was distressed and had been crying for a while. “Lily, you’re really back!” He pulls me in and wraps me into a big hug, throwing me off guard. “I’m so glad that you’re okay.” I was at a loss for words, it was too much for me to process. His hold around me slightly tightens as he snuggles in closer to my neck. “Liam. What are you doing here?” I finally speak up. Liam pul

  • His Mate   Chapter 16

Gloom, despair, death. That’s all I was feeling in where I am, in the same spot of my previous dreams. But this time is different, I wasn’t being chased by Ian as that shadow wolf or being tormented by the voices from the dark. It was quiet in the woods. I wasn’t sure how to feel about it, it was too quiet I grew skeptical. I wander around to see what else I could find. Although my common sense tells me not to look for any problems if there isn’t one, something didn’t sit right as to how there wasn’t anything going on like usual. I keep on going until I hear the faint familiar sound of the waterfall in the distance. I approach the noise to find the waterfall, but I could not find it. Remembering where the path is that was closest to the water in the last nightmares, I reach the area where the cliff resides. The waterfall sounds closer now, but when looking around I don’t see anything. Looking off the cliff, th
