ELSA'S POV:
I laid on the bed, counting the seconds, staring blankly at the ceiling. My mind was going back and forth. I couldn't seem to forget the look Alpha Nathan gave me when he was leaving Ezekiel's room. It was like he knew something. "I just have to be careful," I mumbled, facing the wall. Restlessness of sorts suddenly set in, causing me to spring to my feet immediately. Quietly opening the door, I saw the long hallway empty, and I took a deep breath before closing the door and tip-toeing my way out. A breath of fresh air on my skin will do me some good. I made it past Rue's chambers but halted in my tracks as I heard voices coming from her bedroom. I knew it was bad to eavesdrop, but curiosity got the better of me. "How come you're suddenly pregnant?" Ezekiel asked, and my heart twitched like I had been pierced with thousands of needles simultaneously. I felt faint. 'RUE IS PREGNANT?' "You're not seriously asking me that question. You've forgotten how you shot your cum inside me the last night we had sex?" Rue retorted, and the irritation in her voice was evident. My heart picked a race, and for some reason I felt betrayed. I had no clue why. "Does this pose an obstacle to my plan?" I wondered to myself as I walked the hallway in silence and out of the building without being noticed. Regardless of what may happen, Ezekiel has to be mine to achieve my goal. With such resolve, I wandered into the woods nearby. After finding a good spot, I settled behind an oak tree. The night was so beautiful. The sky was clear, the stars shining bright. No clouds whatsoever. The moonlight bathed everything in its pale glow. There's nothing like it. My thoughts were interrupted by someone clearing their throat behind me. "Hi," the person said, taking a few steps towards me. It was a lady in her early thirties with blonde hair tied up in a bun. She gave off an evil vibe, but her appearance stated otherwise. I became apprehensive. "Who are you?" She chuckled and raised her hands in the air. "I'm just passing through the woods when I see you. What is a fragile little you doing out here alone at night?" I didn't say anything; instead, I looked her in the eye. Her smile fell, and she seemed to realize I was serious about knowing who she was. "Never mind, I should be going now." She muttered and turned towards her left. I still didn't say anything as I watched her leave. To say it was kind of creepy to see such a fine face giving off such a vibe. I huffed, "Did she just call me fragile?" "I should be going back now." I whispered to no one and began making my way back. Just a few minutes walk and I hear rastle in the bush nearby. That moment, I regretted all my life decisions. I'm so reckless sometimes that I don't think before doing something. If not, what the hell will I be doing in such a place by this hour? "Who is there?" My heartbeat was quickening as my muscles tightened around a stick in my hand that I had grabbed. Suddenly the figure emerged from the underbrush, the woman from earlier, with bows and arrows. "I'm sorry, darling, but I have been sent to kill you." She smirked, and the arrow nocked, ready to shoot. "You should have done that without showing your face." I said, having no idea where my bravery came from. I was weak to my bones, so I wouldn't be able to defend myself if I tried. "It takes a lot of nerves for you to say that. I thought you would cower seeing death staring in your face." She scoffed and let her arrow fly. I dove, but unfortunately, it slashed through my upper arm. My face went pale when I caught the scent in the air. The arrow had been laced with the deadlier werewolf poison that only takes a few minutes to kill a wolf. It was deadly and highly toxic. My eyes started getting watery, and my vision blurred. My legs gave out beneath me, causing my body to crumple. She smiled satisfactorily and strengthened her arms. "See you." "Why?" I forced myself to ask as I struggled with the overwhelming pain escalating through my body, breaking every one of my bones. Just two days in a row, and an attempt had been made on my life. I was sure I would be dying this time around. "I have no idea, my darling. Rest in peace." With that, she kicked my stomach and strolled away casually, like she hadn't left me to die. Just as I was about to give in to complete darkness, I heard a cracking sound, and right there stood the shadow man from my dream, tossing the heart of the woman to the ground. I saw the woman freeze, blood splitting from her mouth, before she dropped to the ground dead. I closed my eyes and let the darkness overwhelm me. ********* "Elsa?" I heard from a distance. It was Ms Bennett's voice. My eyes forced open, but my vision remained blurry for about 30 seconds before my eyes could adjust to the darkness. "You are awake?" I looked at her and nodded slowly. My whole body ached, and my head throbbed like I had a fever. "What happened?" Her question brought back the memories of what had happened in the woods. My eyes shot up in surprise. "I'm alive?" She looked up at me like I had gone crazy. "Were you dying before?" I was confused by her question. "Anyway, I don't care to know. Obviously, you have sleepwalked." She said through gritted teeth. She was clearly annoyed. "I was made to watch over you the entire night." She hissed and left, her heels clicking against the floor angrily. I was lost and dumbfounded. Did she say I sleep-walked? I checked my arm where the arrow had slid through, and there was nothing to show that what happened last night was real. Was I hallucinating? It couldn't be. And the shadow man? The lady had made it clear she was sent to kill me, but why? And how come I didn't die? No one had ever survived from such poison before. I had so many questions, and from the look of things, I had to look for their answers myself. However, I was sure about one thing: I had been saved by that Shadow Man.ELSA'S POV:Nothing had changed in the past few days except that the security around the pack had been tightened. One of the new maids recruited was found dead at the border between the Blood Moon Pack and a neighboring pack. Alpha Nathan believes it's a war signal; however, he had sent words across, and the neighboring pack said they had nothing to do with the death of the maid. But still, he didn't take it lightly.Rue has been parading herself as the pack's future Luna. Her pregnancy had gotten to the ears of every single member of the Blood Moon Pack.I could say I have made quite a bit of progress with Ezekiel. He seemed to be wrapped around my fingers, ready to defend me.Sometimes I feel sorry for him, but after remembering what his father had done to mine, any pang of regret in my heart disappears. Sad to say, I haven't got anything on the Shadow Man or who wants me dead.My phone rang, disrupting my thoughts. Ezekiel looked up from his tap and stared at me before going back
ELSA'S POV:"Mr. Diago told us to do the job tonight," one person said, and another added, "Ezekiel needs to die ASAP."I felt a lump in my throat, and a cold shiver ran down my spine, making me feel nauseous."Don’t you think it would look too suspicious to kill him at the hunting grounds?" someone else said, breaking the tense silence.I looked around, unsure of what to do. I couldn’t run to Ezekiel and warn him that his so-called friends were plotting to kill him. Plus, I had no plan to stop them on my own."I think Dylan should get close to him, and then we can kill him in a less obvious way," the last voice suggested."We should go back to Mr. Diago and come up with a new plan," the first person said, and the others agreed."I need to at least see their faces," I thought, gathering my courage and taking a step forward. My body was shaking from fear, and I stumbled as I walked.A few steps later, I fell hard with a loud thud."Who's there?" One of them yelled, and my heart raced.
ELSA'S POV: Putting my suitcase to stop, I glanced up at the mighty white building before me, stunned by its height and beauty and the way it glowed in the afternoon sunlight. This was the house of Alpha Nathan, the Alpha of the Blood moon Pack. Disregarding the churning voice in my head, reminding me the reason I was right there at that moment, I let my excitement run wide. "Gracious good, I have landed myself a goldmine." I chuckled with delight and proceeded to knock on the big gate when it flew open and a Limo was about to be driven out. The car stopped right beside me and the window of the back seat wined down, revealing a face as handsome as no one's I'd seen before. My jaw dropped at his beauty and I was pretty sure my eyes were about to pop right out of their sockets. I didn't even notice my mouth gaping because holy shit, this guy looked like he belonged in one of those Greek myth paintings or something, except with better muscles, of course, and a body that made any
ELSA'S POV: Apparently I wasn't the only new recruit in the household of Alpha Nathan. As we gathered in the long hall waiting to be addressed and welcomed by Alpha Nathan and his Luna, Isabella, I kept balancing my weight on my two feet, growing irritatedly by every passing seconds. My anger kept bubbling up and no matter how hard I tried to distract myself, I couldn't."Alpha Nathan is a monster. He is the reason you're an Orphan. Never forget that." Mr Graham's words echoed in my head. These particular words had become a constant reminder of why my life had been a hard one. The solemn reason I was there pretending to be a maid."I'll make sure that this household pays severally," I assured myself the same minute Alpha Nathan and Luna Isabella walked into the hall. They both looked better in person. The pictures of them I was shown did no justice to how great they were looking. They both look exceptionally gorgeous with mild Auras emanating from them. Safe to say you would th
ELSA'S POV: I kept thinking maybe Luna Isabella was out of her mind when she said I was assigned as Ezekiel's personal maid. Why would a grown ass dude need a maid or could it be she knows who I am?But there was no way anyone would link me to Amber and Damien of Crest Lake Pack. In fact, my Pack has gone into extinction. I could swear that I’m the only surviving member of Crest Lake Pack so she wouldn't know who I am. “Just take it as the odds are working in your favor. Being his personal maid would give you the opportunity to make him fall for you and then carry out your plan.” I assured myself, beaming at the rare opportunity presented to me in a platter of gold.I quickly fished out my phone and dialed Mr Graham's number.“Elsa?” His stoic voice came at the end of the phone.“You settled well?” He further asked.“Yes, I have been assigned as Ezekiel's personal maid.” I told him and from the shifting sound in the background, I could swear he took the news well.“That's great. D
EZEKIEL'S POV: "Are you okay, babe?" Rue asked as she tried to open my shirt button. I grunted and pushed her aside. "Not today, Rue. I'm not in the mood." I spat out and gulped the content of my glass and set it down."It's impossible for Zeke not to be in the mood for s*x. What happened to you dude?"I rolled my eyes at the annoying voice of my best friend. "Chris, stop it already. It's not funny." Rue stood up and picked her bag, ready to leave. "Bye." She uttered and stormed out angrily."Yoo! That's too harsh, dude. This is your girlfriend you're treating this way." Chris chastised me, clearly angry."Do you want me to leave your house?" I glared at him and he raised his hands up in surrender."Alright chillax dude. You're acting like a spoiled brat." He muttered under his breath and poured himself a drink.I huffed and looked away, if only he knew."So my father said you and I have only one year left to assume duties. With the way your mood swings, it will be hard playing yo
ELSA'S POV: My second day here and it hasn't been eventful except for the kiss with Ezekiel the previous day.I was adjusting to the life of a maid though it was hard to. Glancing at the container in my hand, I hissed in anger. “I wonder how long I have to take this drug?” I mumbled and threw a tablet into my mouth. The sour taste passed through my throat and I cringed, shaking my head vehemently.I couldn't believe that I have to go this low to complete my mission. Taking a drug that will disguise me as an omega because I wouldn't want Alpha Nathan to find out I was the daughter of Alpha Damien of Crest Lake Pack. “Are you sick?” Mina's startled me and I quickly hid the container by my side and smiled at her.“I should have some privacy.” I voiced and Mina nodded, apologizing instantly. “I knocked but you didn't answer though. And I was worried because you were taking so much time in here.” “It's fine.” I mumbled and stylishly hid the container and smiled at her. “Why are you
EZEKIEL'S POV: Chris's house was filled to the brim with people from his school. I haven't attended school all my life. I was homeschooled and any friends I had, it was through Chris. Except that I'm in college now and graduating soon so I could take over the pack. "Hey, Man!" I huffed as his annoying voice came from behind me. The loud music in the background made it difficult to hear him clearly."Where is Rue?" Chris asked and settled beside me on the couch."She is in the ladies." I stated and looked away."Your Mate?" He whispered. I quickly scanned the crowd and saw no sign of Elsa. I suddenly felt uneasy as Knight, my Wolf growled impatiently."I know, buddy. Let's go find her." I mumbled and patted Chris on his back before exiting. I searched the whole building yet I saw neither Rue or Elsa. Something told me that if I find Rue I will find Elsa. Rue had been in a foul mood since learning that Elsa was assigned to me as my new maid. I could have just told her the tru
