EZEKIEL'S POV:
Chris's house was filled to the brim with people from his school. I haven't attended school all my life. I was homeschooled and any friends I had, it was through Chris. Except that I'm in college now and graduating soon so I could take over the pack. "Hey, Man!" I huffed as his annoying voice came from behind me. The loud music in the background made it difficult to hear him clearly. "Where is Rue?" Chris asked and settled beside me on the couch. "She is in the ladies." I stated and looked away. "Your Mate?" He whispered. I quickly scanned the crowd and saw no sign of Elsa. I suddenly felt uneasy as Knight, my Wolf growled impatiently. "I know, buddy. Let's go find her." I mumbled and patted Chris on his back before exiting. I searched the whole building yet I saw neither Rue or Elsa. Something told me that if I find Rue I will find Elsa. Rue had been in a foul mood since learning that Elsa was assigned to me as my new maid. I could have just told her the truth of who she's to me without feeling any guilt. However, I dared not. Spilling the beans means Elsa getting kicked out of the Pack the soonest. I vowed to protect her until I figured out a way for us to be together. And for now, keeping her close was the only option for me. Unless, my wolf and I would go insane. I caught her scent and then another one, my heart beating rapidly at the thought that Rue might have done something to her. She was a fragile omega who wouldn't stand a chance with Rue in terms of physical strength. "What's special about you?" I heard Rue asked as I drew closer to the garden. "He even had you tagged alone to this Party. Not only that, he got you a dress as well. Who the hell are you? Are you his side Piece?" The questions rolled out of her mouth nonstop. I stepped in before Elsa could answer any of the questions, Rue seeing me became even more aggressive as she stepped forward reiterating “Who the hell are you to him, b!tch?!" She launched at Elsa the same time her last question left her lips, slapping Elsa across the face. My heart twitched as I felt the impact of the slap. Clenching my jaw, I pulled Elsa to me and stood glaring at Rue. "Bullying a weak woman, are you?" I snapped angrily. Rue backed off but kept her eyes fixated on Elsa, "What now, he is choosing your side over mine?" She snarled, her eyes ablaze with hate. I could feel my rage surging to the surface. Knight growled, threatening to take over our body and deal with Rue but I couldn't allow that. If anyone should hear that my wolf attacked my girlfriend because of my maid, it would arouse suspicions. "I'm sorry," Elsa muttered and turned to leave but I held her in place. "She is my maid, Rue. I believe Elsa doesn't deserve your disdain. So please quit treating her like she is nobody." I spoke calmly, my anger slowly dissipating. "Like I give a damn who she is. A low life!" Rue hissed and stumbled away, angrily cursing loudly on her way out. A few seconds passed and I was able to finally look at Elsa in the face. The moment I saw the expression on her face, my heart sank. She was hurt and didn't know how to express it. "Does your cheek hurt?" My voice came in a low whisper. Shaking her head, all emotions clearing from her face. "Your girlfriend is a brat," She declared fearlessly with a chuckle. To say the least, I didn't expect such a reaction from her. "What?" She shrugged when I said nothing, I was clearly surprised to utter a word. "You want me to brood over a slap. Worse has been done to me and I'm still alive." She added nonchalantly, her face put up with no expression. I had no idea how to react. I was a bit relieved that she was okay. "Okay, superwoman." I casually said and let go of her, attempting to walk away. Knight screaming in my head to kiss her. But what would be my reason for suddenly pulling her to me and kissing her breath away. My wolf and I were the only ones aware of what she's to us. I wouldn't want to appear as a pervert to her even though her body language clearly stated that she'd been hitting on me. She suddenly whimpered, alerting my six senses. "What!" I panicked. "I can't walk," she mouthed, her cute lips pouted out and her eyes shimmering in tears. That was fast. Where did that come from? "You hurt your feet?" I was clueless as to why her feet were hurting instead of her cheek. "Yes," she nodded, battering her eyes in a cute way and it dawned on me that she was doing it again. Has anyone told her she sucks at seduction? "What should I do about it?" I questioned, raising my brows in askance. She said nothing and looked away. "I'm not your boyfriend so don't expect me to carry you." I mouthed and readied to walk away when I heard her mumble, "Chris will be happy to help." With that she dashed out of the garden. The hairs at the pack of neck stood up, jealousy enacting in my features. She didn't say that to me? She just met Chris and they have become like what? Besties? "Oh no! she didn't say that to me?" I repeated like a child whose favorite toy was being snatched away. I chased after her, and realizing that I was coming after her, her direction turned towards one of the visitor’s restrooms. She went in but I dived in before she could slam the door on my face. I pulled her, slamming her body gently against mine and possessively tilting her head, leaning in for a kiss. My lips were just inches away from hers when a stomping footsteps were heard coming towards the restroom. They belonged to Rue, I knew for sure. We both froze in the air, darting our eyes for an escape. Definitely, there was none. Damnit!EZEKIEL'S POV:“Of course, I’m late again!” a voice boomed, and I didn’t need anyone to tell me it was Alpha Clementino from Shadow City, my father’s acquaintance. He was infamous for being late to every gathering, whether at my father's place or elsewhere. It was amusing, really, considering we never quite clicked despite him being an acquaintance of Father.“Ah, my good friend!” my father exclaimed, his smile wide as he greeted Clementino. After a few pleasantries, he joined the rest of the guests at the table.Once I had eaten my fill, I decided to escape the table and mingle with the other attendees.Suddenly, Mariel appeared beside me, her expression serious. She raised her wine glass to mine and took a long sip before handing the empty glass to a passing waiter.“I’m really disappointed, you know,” she said, her voice tinged with frustration.“Why are you disappointed?” I asked, my gaze drifting to Chris and Dylan chatting at the far end of the hall.“I’m about to leave this eve
EZEKIEL'S POV:“Are you okay, man?” Chris asked, worry etched on his face as he approached me. We were at the bar in the castle, trying to unwind with a drink.I shook my head, letting out a heavy sigh as I lifted my glass of vodka. The harsh burn of the liquor hit my throat, making me groan in discomfort.“My Wolf has been restless, and I don’t know why,” I muttered, avoiding his gaze. With a comforting hand on my shoulder, Chris smiled. “I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about,” he reassured me. But even with his words, an unsettling feeling gnawed at me, refusing to let go.“I know how to lift your spirits,” he suddenly exclaimed, his grin wide and infectious. I raised an eyebrow, curious. “And what would that be?”He chuckled softly and settled onto the stool beside me, swirling his own drink. My patience was wearing thin.“Elsa,” he whispered, his eyes sparkling with excitement.A smile tugged at my lips, but it faded just as quickly. I hadn’t seen Elsa all afternoon.“Um…”Whatever
ELSA’S POV:I jolted awake, my head pounding and my mind clouded as I struggled to figure out where I was. My eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness around me. As I became fully aware, the darkness began to lift.A low grunt escaped my lips as I hissed in pain. My hands and legs were tied, and a strip of black tape sealed my mouth shut. I was sitting on the cold floor, and the room was empty and deserted, reeking of rotten food. Anger surged through me, overwhelming my confusion."Who on earth would want to kidnap me?" I thought, panic rising as I tried to wriggle free from my restraints.Suddenly, the door to the empty room flew open, and two men in black walked in, sizing me up with cold, emotionless stares. They stopped right in front of me, and then another man followed closely behind. He wore a tailored black suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and muscular build. A crisp white shirt and black tie completed his effortlessly confident look. His dark hair was perfectly styled, a
ELSA'S POV:The day passed slowly, with nothing much happening. I kept my distance from Rue and Ezekiel, and thankfully, Ezekiel didn’t ask me to wait on him. Maybe he was avoiding me too, or perhaps he felt guilty about what he did to me. But honestly, I doubted he ever felt guilty.I couldn’t even tell if he had any real feelings for me anymore.“Since you’re free, come help us in the kitchen,” Mina called from the doorway, arms crossed, studying me.“I don’t have to,” I mumbled, irritation bubbling up inside me.“Well, you do. Ms. Bennett said we need all hands on deck,” she replied, stepping into my room.“The Castle is hosting a small gathering for some of the most important men in the Pack,” she added, reaching for my hair. I instinctively dodged her touch.“Why am I always the last to know what’s happening in the Castle?” I complained, frustration evident in my voice.“It’s because your only business here is with Ezekiel. Besides, maids in this Castle don’t gossip, so you won’t
ELSA'S POV:The ringing sound in the background pulled me from my restless sleep. I groaned and blinked my eyes open, desperately searching for my phone.“Damn it,” I muttered under my breath, trying to control the wave of anger bubbling up inside me.“Mr. Graham?” I mumbled as soon as I answered the call.“Elsa?” His voice was tense, making me sit up straight. Every muscle in my body protested from the ache of spending the night kneeling in the cold.“How’s everything going?” He asked.“Great,” I lied, forcing a cheerful tone despite the despair clawing at me. I had just been allowed to rest and instructed to sleep for a while, a command from Ezekiel that still stung.“Okay, just checking in. Don’t forget to take your pills,” he said, and before I could even respond, he hung up.I let out a heavy sigh, the weight of frustration crashing down on me as I pulled myself out of bed. The wall clock flashed at 9 a.m.—I was late for my morning duties. After changing into my uniform, I dragge
EZEKIEL'S POV:“Babe!” Rue’s voice called out as soon as I slid into the car. Elyse still hadn’t returned. I rolled my eyes and turned to face her. She looked stunning in a black dress, wearing the rose necklace I had given her for our anniversary last year.“I’m coming with you,” she announced cheerfully as she climbed in, completely oblivious to the anger radiating from me.“Rue, you’re not going anywhere with me,” I said firmly, my eyes warning her to back off.“Why not?” she pouted. “I’m your girlfriend,” she added, clinging to my arm. I tried to shake her off, but she wouldn’t let go. “If you don’t take me with you, I’ll go straight to Father’s chambers and tell him everything,” she threatened, fully aware that dragging Father into this was the last thing I wanted.“Fine,” I muttered, shoving her away. “You’re on your own tonight.” I turned my back on her, frustration boiling inside me.A few minutes later, Elyse showed up, looking confused and clearly scared.“Get in the car, El
