Xavier felt suffocated by the walls closing in around him at the pack house. The weight of his choices threatened to crush him, the ghost of Luna's devastated face haunting his every waking moment. He needed to escape, breathe, and sort through the tangled mess of emotions. With a mumbled excuse to Anna, he headed into the forest surrounding the pack lands.

As soon as the ancient trees enveloped him, Xavier allowed his wolf to surface, letting the beast take temporary refuge from his turbulent human emotions. Bones shifted and reformed as he dropped on four powerful legs, his russet fur bristling along his spine. A long, mournful howl bubbled up from his lupine chest, a guttural expression of frustration and inner turmoil.

He took off at a loping run, powerful haunches propelling him forward as he relished the burn in his muscles and the wind whipping through his coarse pelt. Outside the wilderness, he could think clearly without Anna's insistent presence clouding his judgment. What had he done, throwing away his bond with Luna in a moment of weakness and desire?

Luna had been his sun, moon and stars for so many years. Her gentle strength and unwavering love had been the tether holding him steady through the darkest times as pack alpha. But the one thing she couldn't provide was an heir to carry on his bloodline, and Anna had seductively, unintentionally presented that missing piece he'd craved.

Xavier's heavy paws pounded against the loamy forest floor as he replayed the devastating scene when he confessed his betrayal to Luna. The shattering of her heart, her beautiful eyes swimming with agony and disbelief - it was a fracture that may never fully heal in his soul. Had he ruined the most precious bond in his life for a fleeting indiscretion born of desperation?

Slowing to a stop near a moonlit clearing, Xavier threw back his head and let out a long, mournful howl that echoed through the trees. His wolf and human halves remained bitterly at war over the choices he'd made. Duty, loyalty, and ensuring a future for his pack had inexorably pulled him towards Anna's fertile embrace. But his wretched heart stubbornly remained entwined with memories of Luna's adoring gaze, gentle caresses, and unconditional acceptance of his true self.

As the full moon peeked through the canopy above, bathing the forest in its ethereal glow, Xavier closed his eyes and allowed its ancient energy to wash over his tormented soul. Had the goddess forsaken him for relinquishing the one true mate the fates had destined for him? Had his selfish yearnings permanently severed the sacred bond he'd once shared with his Luna?

Only time would reveal the consequences of his actions. For now, Xavier could only run - putting endless miles between himself and Anna's increasing demands, the pack's judging stares, and his burning shame and regrets. His paws would eat up the forest paths under the moonlight while his inner wolf sought the absolution that may never come.

The first pale streaks of dawn were staining the sky when Xavier finally returned to the pack house, his wolf retreating beneath his human skin. He felt no more at peace than when he had departed, his mind and soul still ravaged by turmoil.

As soon as he stepped through the door, Anna was on him like a raging storm, her anger and insecurity rolling off her in waves. "Where in the goddess' name have you been?" she hissed, hands planted firmly on her hips as she paced in front of him, her belly slightly rounded with the growing life within.

Xavier sighed, suddenly feeling every agonising ounce of weariness weighing on his shoulders. "I needed to clear my head. I went for a run," he mumbled, raking a hand through his messy hair.

Anna's eyes flashed with anger and something more unsettling - a sense of entitlement and possession. "You can't just go running off without telling me! What if something had happened to you?" Her voice dropped to a quieter yet still accusatory tone. "To the father of my child?"

He resisted the urge to snap at her, to lash out with the hurricane of emotions swirling violently within him. As much as her behaviour gritted on his nerves, needling him with her proprietary demands, he knew a part of her anger came from the raging storm of pregnancy hormones.

"Anna," Xavier said, struggling to keep his voice even and calm. "I am the alpha of these lands. I can go for a run on my territory whenever I desire without seeking your permission."

His words seemed to douse her fiery outrage with a splash of shocked realisation. Her mouth opened, clearly ready to berate him further, to attempt to reassert her stance as the mother of his unborn child. But something in his quiet dismissal gave her pause, and she clamped her lips shut again with a huff.

Instead, Anna grabbed his arm, her fingers digging into the corded muscle as she attempted to pull him towards the bedroom wing. "Come then," she commanded, a slight waver in her voice. "You need your rest. All this stress and running about isn't good for the baby."

Xavier carefully yet firmly extricated himself from her grip, his wolf snarling at her entitled demands, her flagrant refusal to allow him even a shred of boundaries or private grief. "That's enough, Anna," he stated in a low, rumbling tone. "I'll rest when I'm good and ready when I've had my fill of being alone with my thoughts."

The shock on her face at his rebuke quickly morphed into outrage, an all-too-familiar sight over the past several moons. "After everything I've sacrificed to give you the heir you so desperately wanted? You owe me, Xavier!" She jabbed an accusing finger into his chest.

Those words, that persistent belief that he was in her debt for providing the ultimate bargaining chip, ignited a simmering fury inside him that caused his wolf to pace restlessly in the confines of his psyche. His jaw clenched hard as he fought for control over the growl building in his throat.

"Be very careful with your next words, Anna," he finally bit out through gritted teeth. "You may carry my child, but you are not and will never be my mate. Not after the way I so carelessly discarded Luna."

Anna recoiled as if he'd struck her, finally seeing the consequences her manipulations had wrought. The heartbroken expression that flickered across her features mirrors the devastation he'd witnessed on Luna's beautiful face.

Unable to bear looking at Anna a moment longer, Xavier turned away; every muscle in his body tensed against the urge to abandon her entirely. As much as he still desired her lush curves, her ability to distract him from his all-consuming guilt over Luna was rapidly fading.

With heavy steps, Xavier made his way through the deserted halls toward the bedroom wing, his body feeling as though it had aged decades in a single night. He had sacrificed everything for this path - his love, values, and honour. Now, he needed to be alone to finally grieve what he had lost, with no interfering voices to sway his fragile self-restraint.

Della woke up early the following day, the sun streaming through the windows of her cosy flat. She made herself a cup of coffee and sat on the small balcony, taking in the peaceful view of the bustling street below. It was a new day, full of possibilities, and she felt a sense of optimism washing over her. As she sipped her coffee, Della heard a faint rustling from the alley behind the café. Curious, she set down her mug and peered over the railing. Surprisingly, she saw a tiny kitten darting between the trash cans, its fur matted and dirty. Without hesitation, Della sprang into action. She hurried downstairs, grabbed a bowl of milk from the kitchen, and went to the alley. The kitten hesitated initially, but the hunger in its eyes won out, and it cautiously approached Della. Gently, Della set the bowl of milk down on the ground and took a step back, giving the kitten space to drink. It lapped the milk greedily, its small tail flicking back and forth in contentment. As Della

Xavier stood by the window of the darkened room, staring out at the silver-lit forest that bordered their land. The moon hung heavily in the sky, silently witnessing his turmoil. In the silence, the weight of his decisions pressed down on him, squeezing the air from his lungs with the force of regret.Behind him, Anna paced restlessly, her agitation a palpable entity in the confined space. "Xavier, why won't you understand? This is for us, for our future," she pleaded, her voice a mix of desperation and frustration. He turned to face her, the moonlight casting shadows across his features, deepening the lines of conflict etched into his face. "Anna, being Luna isn't just a title; it's a responsibility—one that's earned by trust and respect from the pack, not by manipulation or deceit."Her eyes flashed angrily, a spark that threatened to ignite into a raging inferno. "I've given you everything, Xavier. I'm carrying your child, our future alpha. Doesn't that deserve recognition? Don't I

As Anna turned to see who had called out to her, she was surprised to see Ethan, the patrol officer of the pack, watching her with a curious expression."I...I was taking a walk to clear my head," Anna replied, trying to keep her voice steady despite the nervous flutter in her stomach.Ethan's gaze lingered on her for a moment before he spoke again. "Is everything alright, Anna? You seem troubled. If there's anything you need to talk about, I'm here to listen."Anna hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal to Ethan. She knew he was loyal to Xavier and the pack, and she didn't want to risk him reporting her actions to the alpha. But there was something in Ethan's eyes gave her a flicker of hope, a sense of understanding that she hadn't felt from anyone else in the pack."I...I appreciate your concern, Ethan. It's just...things are complicated right now," Anna admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.Ethan stepped closer to her, his expression one of genuine care. "I may be a patrol o

Anna scowled at Martha and shook her head. "And do you believe you have a right to question me, the future Luna?" Martha scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "You're just an omega who got pregnant by the alpha behind our real Luna's back," Martha stated.Anna's eyes flashed with anger at Martha's words, her fists clenched at her sides. "I may be an omega, but I have just as much right to be here as anyone else. My past does not define who I am now," she retorted, her voice firm and unwavering.Martha's expression hardened at Anna's defiance, her lips curling into a sneer. "You may have deceived Xavier, but you will never be truly accepted in this pack. You're nothing but a lowly omega, forever beneath us," she spat, her words dripping with venom. But before Martha could continue, Ethan appeared, and he stepped forward, his gaze steely as he addressed both women. "That's enough. Despite our differences, we are all part of this pack. We must work together and show respect to each o

As they stepped back into the familiar surroundings of the café, Della felt a mix of emotions swirling within her. The news of her pregnancy had shaken her world, throwing her into a whirlwind of uncertainty and apprehension. She knew that she needed time to process this new reality, to come to terms with the weight of responsibility that now rested on her shoulders. But she wasn't sure if staying here was the right thing to do now. She knew that she could never risk Xavier finding her. “Oh, Della. Good to have you back. Let me make you a lovely drink.” Mrs Thompson bustled around them, her motherly instincts kicking in as she fussed over Della, ensuring she was comfortable and had everything she needed. Michael stood by quietly, his eyes filled with concern and support.Della sat down on a chair, feeling the weight of exhaustion settling in her bones. She appreciated the warmth and care surrounding her, but a part of her was already wrestling with the enormity of what lay ahead. How

As Anna stood alone in the dimly lit hallway, the echo of Xavier's departing footsteps reverberated in the silence. Her mind was a tumultuous whirlwind of emotions, a storm of uncertainty brewing within her. Alpha Xavier's doubts and suspicions hung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over their fragile relationship. She thought of how different he seemed since Della had departed the pack. She had believed that once Della was out of the way, her life of becoming Luna would be easier. She was carrying the heir, after all. Anna’s hand instinctively went to her swollen belly, a tender reminder of the life growing within her. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Anna pushed herself away from the wall and returned to her quarters. The solitude of her room offered a temporary respite from the chaos of the pack, allowing her a moment of thinking to collect her thoughts. As she settled onto the edge of her bed, the evening events played out in her mind like a wild symphony. As Della pulled away from the kiss, a rush of guilt and confusion washed over her. She had let her emotions get the best of her, giving in to the moment without thinking about the consequences. "Michael, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let that happen," Della whispered, her voice tinged with regret and self-reproach. Michael, too, felt a mix of emotions swirling within him - a combination of longing, confusion, and a deep sense of caring for Della. He reached out to her, his expression gentle and understanding. "Della, I wanted that kiss from the moment I first saw you. There's something about you that drew me in, that made me want to be there for you, to protect you," Michael confessed, his voice filled with vulnerability and honesty. "I can't let you leave without knowing this, without knowing that I care about you more than words can express. I know we haven't known each other long, but there's a connection between us that I can't ignore." Della's heart swelled with

As the morning sun peeked through the curtains, Anna's eyes fluttered open, her mind immediately racing to the events of the previous night. Determination drove her as she quickly got out of bed, a sense of urgency propelling her forward. She needed to find Xavier and address the rift between them. Anna quickly dressed and made her way through the pack house, her steps purposeful as she sought out Xavier. The familiar sights and sounds of the waking pack surrounded her, but her focus remained solely on finding the Alpha. Anna's heart sank as she noticed the space where Xavier's bed should have been. A sinking feeling settled in her stomach as she realised he had already left for his morning run. His bed remained neatly made, untouched, a stark reminder of his absence. Anger and frustration flared within her, mixed emotions swirling as she clenched her fists. How could he leave without even a word? Did he not care enough to face the issues between them? • His Luna’s Rejection, Her Alpha’s Mistake   Epilogue

One week later Della lingered in the doorway, a smile creeping onto her face as she watched her son sprawled on his playmat, gurgling happily to himself. He was a radiant beacon in her life, embodying her hopes for a joyful, healthy future. Yet, like shadows creeping across her mind, the scars of her past began to resurface. It had been a week since she'd stood on the grounds of the pack she once led alongside Xavier.“Is everything okay, my love?” Michael whispered as he slipped his arms around her, resting his chin on her shoulder. She nodded, though her gaze remained fixed on their child. Felix had inherited his father's smile and eyes—a striking resemblance that filled her with warmth and uncertainty. A nagging thought worried her: Would Xavier, if he had survived the fire, ever return for their son, his true heir? Would vengeance be his motive?“I was just thinking about how quickly Felix is growing up and what his future might hold,” Della said, a sigh escaping her lips as Mich

“That's right, Xavier. That child is not yours. Amma lied. But your true heir will never be tainted by this cursed pack.” Davison announced, and Xavier let out a roar. His chains rattled as he tried once again to free himself. Micheal and his father laughed and mocked the prisoners. “Your stupid wolves are weakened by the wolfsbane in those chains,” Micheal smiled. “I'm sorry. I'm sorry, but please give me a second chance.” Anna suddenly screamed, but Della could not stand to look at Anna; she hated her so much that she wanted to kill her, but she knew Anna was not worth her energy. Seeing Anna grovel and Xavier lose his alpha status felt good for her. The fact that Micheal was the son of the lycan himself was terrific, but nothing could have prepared her for the support she felt from Micheal and his family. Mrs Thompson had been kind when she thought she had nothing and nobody to turn to. All because Xavier slept with an omega because he believed that his own Luna could not become

Xavier squinted his eyes as the door opened, and two prominent figures stepped forward without a word. They pulled him up from the ground and unchained him. Xavier was shocked by this sudden change and did not recognise these two figures. They did not give Xavier any eye contact whatsoever. “Who are you, and what is going on here?” Xavier demanded, but the two figures still did not look at him. Instead, they just chuckled and dragged him out by his feet. Xavier started to yell, but he was no match for them. He was suddenly pulled into darkness when a blindfold was put over his eyes. “Get off of me, you stupid fools,” Xavier screamed, his voice echoing in the dimly lit corridor as they hauled him along. He kicked and thrashed, desperately trying to break free, but their grips were like iron. His protests faded into muffled grunts as they dragged him further from the musty room he'd been confined to for what felt like aeons. “Where are you taking me?” he shouted again, trying a diff

“Well, get talking. I am waiting.” Martha growled as she tapped her left foot impatiently and kept her eyes on Elsa. She wanted to hurt her, but she knew it wasn’t worth it. Elsa would have no choice but to tell her the truth.“I'm sorry, ok, Martha.” she started to cry, and I rolled my eyes. I had had enough of her pissing me about now. As Elsa continued to cry, Martha's grip on her throat relaxed slightly, but her eyes remained fierce and intense. "Get on with it," she growled, her voice low and menacing. “I've had enough now, and you better explain yourself now before I end your life once and for all.” Elsa sniffled and wiped her nose on her sleeve before continuing. "Ethan...he's been planning this. So, he uses Sage's magic to keep Xavier and the others captive, and then he convinces Anna to agree to become his mate.Martha's eyes narrowed. "And what about Sage? Where is she now?"Elsa swallowed hard. "Sage is...she's under Ethan's control. He used her magic to keep Xavier and t

Micheal's question hung in the air, filled with uncertainty and longing. Mrs. Thompson's expression softened, and she gently stroked his arm. "Oh, dear boy, you deserve to be happy," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "If you want to make amends with your father, I think it's worth a try. But you must do it for yourself, not anyone else's approval." "I think it's worth a try," Micheal said. "I've carried this weight around for so long. Maybe I can find a way to resolve things with my father and have a life with Della.” Mrs. Thompson smiled, her eyes shining with encouragement. "I think you can, dear boy. You're a strong and capable individual. Just remember to be true to yourself and communicate openly with both your father and Della." Della nodded a small smile on her face. "Okay," she said. "First thing tomorrow, we will leave to go see your father. It's been a long day, and I'm exhausted. So much has happened, and all I want to do is sleep. The baby will be awake for a

Anna stood proudly with her newborn baby girl in her arms and Ethan beside her. He put an arm around her shoulders and looked at the vast crowd gathered around them. “Members of Silver Moon, Our Alpha Xavier has abandoned his pack after he found his Luna with another man. His beta was too ashamed to come and face you all after hearing of his alpha’s terrible actions. So, as my chosen mate, Anna, holds the true heir to the alpha throne, it would only be right for me to take over as Alpha and make her Luna of Silver Moon.” Ethan announced to the astonished pack as they silently sat and listened to his words. “Tomorrow we will be Alpha and Luna ceremony,” he announced. Martha stood on the crowd's edge and listened carefully to Ethan’s words. None of it made sense. Xavier had done wrong, yes, but there was no way that he would pack up and abandon his pack in the night. She thought that something was going on there, and she didn't like it one bit. She decided to go and see Sage since sh

Xavier felt sick to the pit of his stomach as he walked back through the doors of his pack; he noticed how everyone moved out of his way and avoided eye contact with him. He realised that Ethan, Sage or Martha must have warned them all not to piss off the Alpha. He didn’t care about them as long as they left him alone. Xavier could not believe the nerve of Della rejecting him and moving on with a clown-like Micheal. He could not stand back and allow another man to steal his child as well. His thoughts suddenly wandered back to Anna and the child they had had. He sat down on the edge of his unmade bed and sighed loudly. He wondered if he should go and visit the child and see for himself if it were his. Xavier didn’t care about seeing Anna; she was not worth his time, and he would never make her his Luna. He had to think about the pack's future now, and without Della by his side, it wouldn’t be an easy ride for him. He lay on the bed and closed his eyes, willing sleep to take over,

“Della, I, alpha Xavier, accept your rejection, and I hope you are happy with your life, but mark my words, you will be back, and I won't let you keep me from my child!” Xavier grunted and turned on his heel. Della scoffed at his words. She was glad he finally saw the sense of accepting her rejection. It was time he moved on with his life with his precious omega. She didn't want to have anything to do with him any longer. “Now that wasn’t so difficult, now was it?” Micheal said sarcastically as Xavier carried on walking. “And don't think you will ever be an inch within my Della or our child again,” he yelled after him and then chuckled with amusement. Della watched as Xavier finally turned and left the mansion. She had never hated someone so much, and she felt nothing for him anymore. He didn’t deserve a minute of her time. Martha and Sage were no loyal friends to her either, and she knew that she didn’t want to have to deal with them again. She didn't need friends like that. “You’

Xavier's eyes widened in shock as Mrs. Thompson revealed the shocking truth. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Lycan Davison was the father of Della's new boyfriend. Della’s mouth fell open and her eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing the statement from Mrs Thompson. Xavier felt a wave of bitterness. Why had Della never told him? Why had she kept this secret from him? "You're lying," Xavier bellowed. "Della would never keep something like this from me." Mrs. Thompson smiled sweetly. "Oh, but she didn't know his true identity until now. And now you know why Michael is so determined to keep you away. Your entire pack is a disgrace. Do you think the council and the Lycan himself will be pleased to hear of your affairs and getting your pack to chase and frighten a pregnant female?” Michael stepped forward, his eyes flashing with warning. "You are not wanted here, nor are your little minions.” Micheal spat in disgust as he glared at Ethan, Sage and Martha. “Go back to
