Mia felt a little shy when Cherry pulled her into the garden where five of her friends were already in the pool. Loud screeches of laughter and splashing water filled Mia’s ears. One of the girls spotted them and jumped out of the sun lounger. She squealed with excitement and hugged Cherry.
“Hey Selene. This is Mia. She’s the one I was telling you about.” Cherry introduced Mia and gave her friend a knowing look. Selene looked confused for a slight second then realisation dawned on her. “Oh yea, well hi Mia. I’m Selene. This is Sasha, that’s Lulu and over there are Dana and Danielle. They are twins.” Selene whispered the last part. Mia grinned and waved at the girls. They waved back and carried on splashing around the pool. Mia longed to get in and join them but she was worried they would notice she wasn’t a great swimmer. Cherry noticed her reluctance and held her hand. They sat by the edge of the pool kicking their legs in the water and chatting. “So, you going to be staying here for a while?” Sasha asked, joining them. Sasha was tall and slim with short blonde hair. Her eyes were a dark brown colour. She smiled at Mia flashing her perfect white teeth. “Well, I guess so.” Mia shrugged her shoulders. Cherry who was sitting in the middle of them, nodded. “Yea she is. Mia had a few problems back home and needed some space.” Cherry explained. Mia smiled grateful for her stepping in so she did not have to explain. Cherry’s eyes moved to a figure in the doorway and she leapt up, making Mia and Sasha glance up in surprise. Mia noticed the guy standing at the other end of the pool. He was tall and handsome with a lovely smile. His eyes were completely fixated on Cherry. It was obvious he was in love with her. “That’s Kane.” Sasha told her. Mia blushed realising she had been staring. “Oh.” Selene, Dana and Danielle came and sat with Sasha and Mia. Cherry and Kane walked over hand in hand. “I wish I had someone like that.” Danielle grumbled. “Me too!” Dana sighed hugging her knees to her chest. Mia stayed silent and listened to them drone on. She had never had a boyfriend, let alone been kissed. “What about you, Mia?” Lulu piped up, causing everyone’s eyes to fall on Mia. “Have you got a boyfriend?” She felt her cheeks burn red with embarrassment. Cherry once again coming to her rescue. “Hey girls, shall we go inside for some food?” She gestured to the door and the girls immediately got up and followed. Mia lagged behind. She started to feel a little uneasy, but was not sure why. Kane stood by the door and watched her carefully. Cherry ran out, kissed him on the cheek and grabbed Mia’s hand. Maria had already left but Mia felt comfortable enough around the people she was with. They had shown her nothing but kindness. “There’s a party tomorrow, you wanna come?” Sasha called over to Mia. They all looked at her expectantly. “Of course she does.” Cherry laughed. Mia nodded, although feel down she was not sure. “Kane, can you give the girls a lift back?” Cherry turned her attention to her husband. He looked up and smiled. “Anything for you, my cherry pie.” “Ah, so sweet.” Dana and Danielle said in unison causing everyone to laugh loudly. Cherry did not care because she was happy and in love with Kane. She couldn’t say about the mate bond because Mia did not know about the werewolf realm just yet. She and everyone else were sworn to secrecy. Cherry knew Mia would be fine with her parents. They would look after her. “Excuse me?” Lulu exclaimed to Mia. “Sorry?” Mia frowned coming back to reality from her little day dream. “What’s wrong?” Cherry stepped in not liking her friends tone. Kane stood behind her without saying a word. Lulu glared at Mia in disgust which made Mia want to cry. She had not done anything wrong that she could think of. “Is everything ok?” Fiona wanted to know, she came bounding over and waited for an answer from someone but nobody spoke. Lulu continued to glare at Mia for whatever reason. Mia was unclear what her issue was. Cherry stared at her two friends and sighed. She did not want her friends to fall out already. Lulu was abit of a drama queen sometimes. “Lulu, just leave her. She’s done nothing wrong.” “I asked her something and she blanked me. She’s rude. No wonder her own family dumped her.” Mia’s mouth fell open in disbelief. “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you.” She shook her head. Lulu shrugged and walked to the other side of the room, not wanting to be near her. “Come on Lulu. Let’s get you back home.” Kane told her to which she instantly obeyed him. Cherry looked annoyed at her friend for causing an unnecessary scene. “Sorry about her.” Cherry said. “She’s gets a little crazy sometimes.” She laughed it off trying to make Mia feel more at ease. “I will see you tomorrow though, yea?” Mia smiled and gave her head a slight nod. Fiona took a seat opposite Mia and reached for her hands. “Mia, I understand things are happening quite fast here but you are going to be fine. Lulu can just be a little over the top so I would not take what she says or does to heart.” Fiona said looking her in the eye. Mia nodded in response not knowing what else to say. “Let me show you to your room.” Fiona got up and Mia followed. Her bags were already in the room waiting for her. It was a beautiful bedroom with a king size bed. There was also an en-suite. Mia was extremely happy to see that it was all hers. She could not wait to get into the bed and sleep. “Mia, can I ask you a question?” Fiona randomly spoke. “Sure?” Mia looked up at her with wide eyes. “What is it?” Fiona took a deep breath and pulled something from her pocket. “This fell out of your bag when David bought it up.” She opened up the folded paper to reveal a photograph. Mia jumped forward and took the photo from her. Angry tears threatened to fall. “I’m sorry.” Fiona exclaimed noticing how upset and agitated Mia had suddenly become. “She’s my mother.” Mia stuttered through her tears. Fiona froze on the spot. Her heart sunk a little and she turned towards Mia. “Dawn?” Mia gasped. How did Fiona know her mothers name? She had never mentioned her name before to her. “How? How do you know my mother?”Alpha Jacob slammed the rogue across the clearing causing him to smack into a big oak tree. The impact killed him instantly. “Damn rogues!” Jacob thundered as he made sure that they were all dead. His pack had seemed to her a lot of rogues attacking lately and he was fed up with it. They needed to learn they were not welcome on his territory. Kane rushed through the forest in his human form and stopped as soon as he saw his brother standing over the dead rogues. He was not surprised that he had defeated them on his own. He was one of the most strongest in the pack. When he was angry, he was even worse. “Brother?” Kane called to him. “Let’s go.” He gestured towards the pack house and Jacob stared at him as if only noticing him for the first time. Jacob was angry. Kane was the only one who could usually keep his brother calm. They had always been close growing up. “Fine.” Jacob growled shifting into his wolf so he would get back quicker. Kane did the same. Jacobs w
Mia had been sat out the front to clear her head, everything was getting to much now. She was in shock that Fiona knew her mother. She had not seen her since she left so many years ago. Nobody knew if she were even alive still but having had that confirmed made Mia feel so many unwanted emotions and her mind was racing with questions she needed answers to. Why would her mum leave her with those abusive people that were meant to be family. Why would she not take her with her? So many questions. Mia felt as if her head were going to burst. Fiona insisted that she never knew that Dawn had ever had a child. She was adamant that Mia had come into her life now for a reason. She was certain that it was her job to reunite Mia and her mother. Mia refused. She was scared and angry that her mother had not been there when she needed her the most. If her mother was still alive then surely she would know by now that Mia was missing? What if she went to her stepfather and said wher
Alpha Jacob stuck his nose up at the idea of a party. He did not care about that. Kane was running around like a love sick puppy helping Cherry with whatever she needed. Jacob felt disgusted by such a display of affection, he swore that he would never be like that with anyone. Abigail had come along when he needed and wanted her too and he loved the power of kicking her out when he had had enough of her. She on the other hand did not appreciate that sort of treatment, not that Jacob gave a damn what she thought or wanted. He was the alpha after all. He knew he could have any of these she wolfs. Abigail was lucky he gave her any attention. He smirked smugly to himself as he thought about how he had enjoyed having her in his office. The girl would never be his Luna. Nobody would. Jacob knew his parents were desperate for him to have a Luna and a child to hand down the reins to one day. Jacob just did not share their enthusiasm for any of that. “Jacob are you going to
“She’s not my mate.” Jacob growled as Kane pushed him to the office and slammed the door shut behind them. His wolf whimpered in his head but he pushed him away. Kane watched his brother and wondered why he was such a selfish fool. The girl was clearly scared and Jacob had frightened her. She knew nothing about the werewolf world. Her mother was half werewolf half human making Mia one of them also. She was also the future luna and needed to be respected at all costs. Jacob needed time to process it all. Kane had done the right thing to pull his brother from the situation before it got even more complicated. He decided that the best thing was to keep them apart for now, at least until Jacob had accepted his fate. “You are drunk, brother.” Kane sighed demanding he go to sleep it off and they could talk more in the morning once his head was a lot clearer. Jacob was not listening. His mind was all over the place. That girl was clumsy, she looked weak and not Luna material
Jacob woke up feeling extremely uncomfortable and slightly sickly. His head hurt as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. Looking around him he realised that he was in his office. Then it all came flooding back to him. The party, the girl. That sweet scent of caramel and his wolf going crazy in his head. Goddess knows he felt so strange. Her beautiful face was imprinted in his mind and he could not shake off the urge to be near her. He growled to himself and stood up feeling dizzy from standing up so quickly. He went to the door but it did not open. It was locked. He banged the door a few times and started to get mad when he realised that he had been purposely locked in. “Damn you, Kane.” He cursed under his breath as he kicked the door down and it was opened in a few seconds. Of course, being an Alpha, Jacob was very strong. Nothing could get in his way not even a locked door. “Where is he?” He pulled an omega by the scruff of the neck and threw them against the wall with such fo
Maria rushed to the three of them as soon as she saw them coming into the car park. It was dark by the time they had arrived. Cherry felt nervous as she looked around them. Mia was tired and wanted to go to bed but Cherry and Fiona wanted to keep her awake. They were on high alert. “Kane and David did not turn up? Is everything ok? I have been so worried.” Maria cried tearfully as Fiona gave her a reassurance hug. “Then where are they?” Cherry gasped. She had not been able to reach out to Kane on the mind link despite trying a few times. “I don’t know.” Maria replied, shrugging her shoulders. “Ok let’s not panic. I’m sure that they are both fine. I’m so sorry that you had to go through that alone. Maria I’ve been telling you for years to give this place up and come live on the pack land.” Fiona sighed knowing that her friend was to proud to do such a thing. “Fiona, you know I can’t do that.” Maria told her. Mia rubbed her eyes and yawned. “Get her back in the car
Dawn never forgot about her daughter, Mia. She knew the day would come when she would have to face her and the backlash of questions she would have. For years, she had been wondering if she should have left her daughter but it was for the best at the time. She had not wanted to leave but she could not possibly stay when she knew she had to be true to herself. She did not leave a note or anything. She just walked out one day and never returned. You see, Dawn was the princess of the Lycan King and Lycan Queen. She had kept Mia away from that for fear of what her parents would think for having a child with someone who refused to acknowledge Mia, since him and Dawn were not even mates. She ran away to have Mia and met Mia’s stepfather while working as a taxi driver receptionist. She believed that He was an amazing man, he worked hard and treated Mia as if she were his own child. Dawn knew he doted on their beautiful daughter and blood meant nothing. At least with him, she would have
Mia hated the pain that she had been feeling, she had no idea what was causing it to happen but it would literally take her breath away. She thought period cramps were bad, well she soon changed her mind about that. Poor Mia was exhausted. Fiona had managed to get them away from the black wolf that had jumped up at the car as they sped off. Cherry put an arm around Mia to comfort her. Maria looked out of the window and wondered if there was anything she could say or do to make the situation better but there was not. “Mia, I need to tell you something.” Cherry sighed not being able to take it any longer. Mia looked at her. “What is it, Cherry?” “The thing that you saw was a wolf. You know, like a proper werewolf.” She told her. Mia scrunched her face up in disgust. “That’s gross.” She snorted causing the other three to fall silent. Cherry had no idea how to approach the subject but then Mia got out the car to stretch her body. “Mia!
The den was quiet as Mia sat in the glow of the fire, her newborn daughter nestled in her arms. The soft crackling of embers filled the room, mingling with the gentle rhythm of the baby's breathing. Jacob had stepped out for a moment, no doubt checking the perimeter of their territory, but Mia felt a sense of peace settle over her, a feeling of contentment that wrapped around her like a warm embrace. As she looked down at her sleeping child, a sense of wonder washed over her. This tiny life, so new and innocent, held within her the promise of a future filled with endless possibilities. Mia's heart swelled with love and gratitude, knowing that she and Jacob had created something truly magical together. The den door creaked open, and Jacob entered, his eyes sparkling with awe as he beheld the sight before him. He crossed the room in swift strides, dropping to his knees beside Mia and the baby, his gaze filled with adoration."She's perfect," Jacob whispered, his voice barely above a bre
The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow over Mia's sleeping form. She stirred, slowly blinking her eyes open as the remnants of a vivid dream clung to the edges of her consciousness. A soft smile tugged at her lips as she reached out, her fingers brushing against the cool sheets beside her – Jacob must have already risen for the day.As Mia shifted to sit up, a sudden wave of nausea washed over her, causing her to clutch her stomach and squeeze her eyes shut. She took a few deep breaths, willing the queasiness to pass, but the sensation lingered, a persistent reminder that something felt... off.Frowning, Mia tried to recall if she had eaten anything unusual the previous day, but her mind came up blank. It was then that a flicker of realization began to dawn on her – the nausea, the fatigue, the subtle changes in her body that she had dismissed as mere stress.Could it be...?Her heart began to race as she mentally tallied the signs, her breath catching
Gentle beams of the morning sun pierced through the dense foliage of the forest surrounding the pack's territory, announcing the dawn of a new day. Mia awoke to the sound of birdsong, their melodic chatter a stark contrast to the emotional tumult of the previous day. Despite the visit to her mother stirring a whirlwind of feelings, there was a serene sense of hope that settled within her, soothing the raw edges of old wounds.Jacob stirred beside her, his sleepy eyes opening to meet hers. "Good morning," he murmured, his voice rough with sleep, yet filled with warmth. The bond they shared, always a palpable presence, seemed to deepen further in moments like these, grounding and uplifting Mia simultaneously."Good morning," Mia replied, her hand reaching out to trace the contour of Jacob’s jaw. Their shared look conveyed not just love but a mutual understanding of everything they had been through and the journey that lay ahead.Today, however, was not just another day. It marked the beg
In the vast expanse where the untamed wilderness met the fringes of civilization, the Horizon pack carved out its sanctuary. It was to this place that Abigail found herself banished, her past a shadow that clung to her steps, heavy with regret and defiance. The pack, under the leadership of Alpha Corbin, offered her refuge—but it was the kindness and understanding of Elias, the pack's second in command, that offered her a glimmer of hope for redemption. One crisp morning, as dawn painted the sky in hues of gold and cerise, Elias approached Abigail during her solitary wanderings along the edge of the pack's territory. "The wilderness is a great teacher," he began, his voice gentle yet carrying an undercurrent of strength. "It teaches us about resilience, about the strength that comes from facing our hardships head-on. You've been given a second chance, Abigail. Not many receive such a gift."Abigail regarded him warily, unused to being addressed without contempt or suspicion. "And what
The dusk had painted the sky in hues of orange and purple, a serene backdrop to the day's end. Antonio, known among his kin as the Lycan King, stood at the edge of the forest that bordered the pack's territory, his gaze lost in the horizon's silhouette. Despite his aging frame, he emanated a sense of timeless strength and authority, commanding respect from all who knew him.Jacob approached him, his steps measured and respectful. Despite their previous interactions, marked by goodwill and understanding, this meeting carried a different weight for Jacob. It was not just as the Alpha of his pack or as Mia's chosen mate that he came but as a man seeking the approval of the elder who had seen generations rise and fall, who had guided his family through tumultuous times with wisdom and courage."Antonio," Jacob greeted, his tone conveying both respect and an underlying nervousness.Antonio turned, his expression softening as he laid eyes on the younger man. "Jacob," he acknowledged, nodding
The journey to the hospital was enveloped in a thick, silence, one that was filled with a mixture of apprehension and a flickering hope. The sun set in a blaze of color, casting long shadows that stretched across the road, mirroring the complex emotions that interlaced within Mia’s heart. Sitting beside her in their vehicle was Jacob, his presence a steady reassurance of support and strength. His hand found hers, their fingers intertwining as if to say, "I’m here, no matter what lies ahead."Jacob squeezed Mia's hand as they entered the hospital, his loving eyes offering silent encouragement. They made their way through the sterile corridors, the antiseptic smell mingling with the low murmur of voices and the occasional beep of medical equipment, a constant reminder of the fragility of human life. Finally, they stood outside Dawn's room, a deep breath drawn by Mia as she prepared to face her mother, to bridge the gap that years of misunderstandings and hurt had created. Jacob's presenc
Kane, with his sturdy frame and penetrating gaze, approached the holding cell where Abigail was kept. Beside him, Cherry walked with a resolve that belied her usually warm and vivacious demeanor. They had agreed to undertake this task together, knowing full well the emotional and physical toll it could exact on them.As the heavy door to the cell creaked open, they found Abigail sitting on the small cot, her eyes devoid of the fiery defiance that once defined her. Instead, a resignation seemed to have settled over her, a silent acknowledgment of the reality that awaited her."We're here to take you to your new home," Kane announced, his voice steady but not unkind. Cherry remained silent, her eyes meeting Abigail's with a mixture of sadness and determination.Abigail nodded, rising to her feet with a grace that seemed incongruous with her current predicament. "I understand," she said simply, her voice a hollow echo of the woman she once was.The journey was long and fraught with an uns
The full moon hung low and brilliant in the inky night sky, bathing the forest clearing in its ethereal glow. Mia stood at the center of the sacred space, her heart pounding with a heady mix of excitement and trepidation. Tonight, she would officially become Luna, solidifying her bond with Jacob and her role as leader of their pack.Around her, the pack had gathered, a sea of familiar faces illuminated by the flickering flames of the ceremonial fire. Mia could feel the weight of their expectant gazes, but rather than filling her with dread, it filled her with a sense of purpose and determination. At her side stood Cherry, her face alight with pride and joy for her best friend. "You look absolutely radiant," Cherry whispered, giving Mia's hand a gentle squeeze.Mia managed a small smile, her fingers brushing over the intricate updo that Cherry had so lovingly crafted, woven through with delicate wildflowers and shimmering moonstone beads. "Thanks to you," she murmured, her voice thick w
Abigail shook her head vehemently, her eyes wild with denial. "No, no, you can't mean that. We're meant to be together, Jacob. Can't you see? Mia is nothing but a temporary obstacle, one that can be easily removed."Jacob's expression hardened, his jaw clenched with barely restrained fury. "Do not speak of Mia in such a way ever again," he growled, his voice laced with a warning that sent a chill down Abigail's spine. "She is my mate, my equal in all things, and I will not tolerate any threats against her."Abigail's lips twisted into a sneer, her desperation giving way to bitterness and rage. "So, that's it then? You've chosen that pathetic excuse for a Luna over me? Over our destiny?"Jacob met her gaze unflinchingly, his eyes burning with a fierce determination. "There is no 'our destiny', Abigail. There is only my bond with Mia, forged by the moon goddess herself. It is unbreakable, and no amount of delusional fantasies on your part will ever change that."Abigail let out a harsh l
