You can't bully her!

I stopped the car at the airport, Vini's flight was a bit delayed today. The first thing she wanted to do after arriving here was to see me.

"Alex..." She stood in front of the car. I barely had time to step out before she wrapped her arms around me in a tight embrace.

"We would have missed the party if you come an hour late," I told her as we got into the car.

"That won't be possible. I am a daughter of Weber, it's the first event of the Weber family. How could it start without me?" She said blowing her nails.

"How was your vacation?" I asked her, she was excited about her trip before leaving.

"Yeah! I enjoyed it but I missed you." She folds her arms into mine. I smiled.

Tonight, we were heading to a party at the Weber house- a rarity in itself. The reason for the party has not been revealed yet. But something might be special. Even my engagement with Vini was low-key.

"Where are you taking me?" Vini asked.

“Not just yet. We’re stopping by my place first to pick up Mom and Andy,” I said.

"Oh..." She sounded disappointed, perhaps because she wanted more time to spend with me.

"Don’t worry. Mom and Andy are excited to see you. They will help you to get ready." I asked, and her face lightened up again.

Once everyone was ready, we headed to Weber's house. She was their only daughter, so marrying her would be beneficial for me and my company.

"Wow... Thanks to Vini, we're going to be family members of the Webers. Alex is going to be their only son in law " My mom praised her. My mom and Vini's mom had arranged this marriage two months ago, and now I was engaged to her just a day after my divorce from Diana.

"Yeah, unlike that bitch!. She didn't deserve to be the daughter-in-law of our family," Andy said.

"Andy, please," I asked her to stop. "Stop bringing her every time," I said.

The car stopped in the large parking area of the Weber house. We stepped out, and Vini wrapped her arm around me. She loved to show me off. The last time when we were at the exhibition, she was not tired of telling everyone about our engagement.

"I'm excited to show everyone that my fiancé is so handsome.," Vini said. As soon as we got inside, she literally tagged herself as "Alex Harper's fiancée." She didn’t miss a chance to flaunt the ring on her finger.

Vini and I walked into the party, greeting guests and making small talk. Everything seemed normal until my eyes landed on someone across the room—a woman in a red satin gown. My heart stopped. It couldn’t be… but it was. Diana.

I blinked, unsure if I was imagining it. Six months. Six long months since she’d vanished from my life, and now she was standing here, at Weber’s party of all places. It didn’t make sense. Was I hallucinating? Was the emptiness I’d felt since she left playing tricks on me? I was expecting her to disappear, but she didn’t.

"Isn't she Diana?" Vini pointed at her. "What is she doing here?" Vini asked me.

"I don't know. She knows no one here besides me." I said.

Ashley POV

I stood at the bar counter. My throat felt dry. Smiling at everyone around me, I tried to blend in. This was my welcome party, after all. But the smile faded the moment I heard a familiar voice behind me.

“What are you doing here, Diana?” I turned around slowly. My heart sank when I saw Alex. Of all the people, I didn’t expect to see him here. Our last meeting was when he divorced me.

Worse, Vini was right beside him, her arm wrapped possessively around his elbow. My hands clenched into fists the moment I saw her. Vini was the reason I lost my baby. The reason I miscarried. The murderer of my unborn child.

Alex’s face looked confused. Seemed he was trying to figure out why I seemed so different now. I could almost laugh. He never did understand me.

“It’s none of your business,” I said. I did not want to cause a scene, especially not at my own party. I turned to leave, but Vini wasn't done. She grabbed my wrist and stopped me.

“Business? First, tell us how you even got in here. There's no way they invited you.” Her fingers dug into my skin. The same way she had yanked me before—right before she pushed me that day.

I took a deep breath. I was fighting back the surge of anger rising inside me. “If they hadn’t invited me, I wouldn’t be here,” I said coldly and yanked my hand out of her grip.

“You have lost your memory. Who even brought you here? This expensive dress, that diamond necklace. It looks like you found another rich man after divorcing Alex.”

I saw Alex's brow furrow. I could see the doubt creeping into his eyes. The same doubt that had poisoned our relationship for years. He turned to me. His voice was low and uncertain. “Diana, is it true? You disappeared for six months. Have you found someone?” Alex asked me curiously.

I almost laughed. The man who didn’t believe a word I said for three years suddenly cared about what Vini thought. How pathetic.

“Even if it were true, it has nothing to do with you.” I met his gaze with cold steel in my eyes. “Now, if you’ll excuse me.”

I turned to leave again, but just as I took a step, I felt Vini’s foot hook around my ankle. Before I tried to get away, I lost my balance and crashed forward. I was headed straight for the pile of wine glasses stacked on the decorative table. My heart raced as I

but then—suddenly a warm hand gripped tightly around my waist. I was halted just an inch before the glasses. I turned back, and my breath caught in my throat—Dylan. How is this man always there to save me? His face was as cold as ice.

"Thank you, Mr. Dylan," I said, straightening myself and taking a deep breath. I could see Vini's face twist in bitterness as she watched us.

"Are you okay?" Dylan's voice was steady, and I nodded in response. I was still shaken but trying to regain my composure.

I noticed Alex out of the corner of my eye, and he didn't seem to like the way Dylan was holding me.

"Mr. Dylan, did you bring her here? Do you even know how conniving she is? She played with Alex for three years, and now that he's stopped supporting her, she's latched onto you." Vini's voice dripped with venom, her words deliberately cruel.

Dylan's expression darkened, his face growing even more chilling as he turned to Vini.

"Miss Vini, if you truly knew her, you wouldn't say this at all," Dylan said, leaving Vini shocked. Slowly, people began gathering around the party. Melissa and Andy both stepped forward.

"Mr. Dylan, you have no idea. Her job is to seduce Rich men. She's a gold digger who's been using you. For three years, she lived lavishly off my son's money," Melissa declared in front of everyone.

"Mr. Dylan.. Just kick her out. This bitch doesn't deserve to be in this party." Andy went and wrapped her hand around Dylan.

Dylan looked at me.

"So, this is how you were treated for three years?" he asked. I pressed my lips together. At my own welcome party, I was literally facing such a mess.

"I have nothing to say.. I am leaving." I said and took a few steps. Suddenly Grandpa arrived there with a disappointed face.

"Who is trying to bully my Granddaughter? Who doesn't love his life anymore?" He asked angrily, People might be scared of him. Everyone turned pale as soon as he arrived. Vini didn't waste time and approached Grandpa.

"Grandpa.. This girl.. She really tried to bully me. You were right. She didn't know whose granddaughter I am.."  Vini wrapped her hand and smirked at me. What happened next was stunned me.
