Chapter 5
.The grand chamber within the vampire king's castle was bathed in an eerie, crimson glow as candles flickered in their ornate holders. The air was thick with a sense of unease, a palpable tension that clung to the walls like a dark shroud. The king himself sat upon his obsidian throne, his regal form a stark contrast to the haunting atmosphere. In the shadowy corners of the chamber, his loyal friend Maurice watched with bated breath.“ Your Highness” He breathed out, careful with choosing his next words in front of the brooding king.“ We have searched around the plains, it was as if the pack disappeared from the face of the Earth. We couldn't locate them Your Highness” Maurice explained to the king who was paying no attention to what he was saying.“ I shouldn't have left her alone. I did it again” He whispered with a heartbroken tone. He looked pale and ragged because he hadn't fed very well in a very long time, ever since he lost Diana in the forest three years ago. The blood tasted like poison in his mouth. He remembered the first time he got to know that Diana was a werewolf, the day she shifted for the first time to defend herself against her human father who abused her then. She had come to find him in her wolf form unsure of what to do and he had left her in the forest because he didn't want a werewolf as his mate. Because of his actions, she was found by her long-lost pack and they did everything to sever the mate bond and now they have succeeded.“ your highness” Maurice coughed but The king couldn't care less. He could feel Diana around the pack house, they were still there and they were doing a horrible job of masking their presence with that witch's magic. The only problem he had with entering that territory was being invited in. He has been using his dream walking powers to communicate with Diana in her sleep hoping she would invite him in but she was in a coma and she always forgot every one of their interaction.Once she invites him into their poor excuse of a hideout, The pack house will be visible once again and he will be able to reunite with her. With a wave of his hands, he dismissed Maurice who grumbled out of the throne room.He knew that his king was in turmoil, his thoughts consumed by the memory of his mate, Diana—the one he longed for with a burning intensity that threatened to consume him. As the minutes stretched into hours, a figure emerged from the darkness.Erica, one of the vampire king's most seductive and cunning minions, slinked forward with a sultry grace that had ensnared many a heart. Her raven-black hair cascaded down her shoulders, and her sapphire eyes shimmered with a mischievous glint. She had loved him for over a century before he found his mate but he would never give in to her."Your Majesty," Erica purred, her voice like honey, as she approached the brooding king."Perhaps I can offer you some... distraction from your troubled thoughts."The vampire king's crimson eyes, usually so impenetrable, briefly flickered with a mix of desire and frustration. He knew Erica's intentions all too well—she aimed to seduce him, to draw him away from the torment of his memories. For a moment, he considered allowing himself to be lost in her embrace, to forget the ache in his heart. But as he closed his eyes, the image of Diana's face—the face of his beloved mate—loomed in his mind, and his control slipped. In an instant, his demeanor changed. His features contorted with a wild fury, and he seized Erica by the throat with a vice-like grip. She gasped, her seductive facade crumbling as fear overtook her."Your Majesty, I... I didn't mean to..." Erica's words were choked, her life hanging in the balance. The vampire king's rage was a tempest, his eyes blazing with an intensity that could incinerate the strongest of wills. He released Erica, sending her stumbling backward, gasping for breath."Leave," he commanded, his voice a low growl, his fangs bared in a menacing display of power.“ It's been three years! She wouldn't come back!” Frustrated by his rejection, Erica yelled at him. She hated Diana with her every being and she was happy the little minx was out of the picture but Vampires only mate once in their lifetime and that applied to the vampire king himself. She has loved him ever since he turned her but he wouldn't look at her that way."Leave before I decide your fate."Erica wasted no time, fleeing from the chamber with a haste that left her shaken to her core. She had dared to tempt the vampire king, to offer herself as a fleeting distraction, and she had come perilously close to losing her life. Alone once more, the king's thoughts returned to Diana. The pain of their separation gnawed at him, driving him to the brink of madness. He paced the chamber like a caged beast, his emotions in turmoil. Diana was with the werewolves, the very pack that had attacked them, nearly ending her life. The thought of her among those who had dared to harm her filled him with an indescribable rage. He clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white, as he envisioned the torment she might be enduring. The vampire king's struggle was twofold—the relentless desire to reunite with his mate and the seething anger directed at those who had taken her away.He knew that he would stop at nothing to reclaim Diana, to protect her from the very forces that sought to keep them apart. But in the depths of his conflicted heart, he also understood that his inner demons threatened to consume him.His rage was a double-edged sword, a force that could either drive him to victory or lead him down a path of self-destruction. As the night wore on, the vampire king's mind remained a tempest of emotions. Diana was out there, and he would move heaven and earth to find her, no matter the cost.He closed his eyes once again preparing to enter her dreams once again. That was the only way to see her and even though he couldn't hold her or caress his mark on her neck and watch her little die eyes roll back in pleasure at the contact. He would manage to see her face and hear her voice through her dreams.“You are here again” her little voice whispered immediately he appeared at the clearing once again.Epilogue.A month later“ You look less grumpy today Your Highness, finally happy your mate is with you?” Kingston teased the vampire king who was grinning from ear to ear inside the council room. He and Diana got married a week after her freedom. The day was the happiest day of his life, he couldn't hold back his tears as she walked down the aisle. Even Maurice teased him for a while because he was too emotional on his wedding day. The wedding took place at his main palace with the Alpha king and Luna queen present. Cassie, Dyrr's human counterpart had been there also to see Decanal briefly. Cassie hardly talked and Diana was a little bit socially awkward herself so they didn't even say hi to each other. He and his Queen went back to his mansion and they started living their happily ever after. It has been nothing but a blissful journey so far, he even missed her so much even though he had only left the mansion for just half an hour to attend the council meeting. It was now time for
Chapter 45.“ Watch out” Diana's head whipped towards the direction of the voice, She felt herself getting whipped around as the hands of her mate caught the spear in no time. Before she could react to his actions, he threw it straight to where it came from and continued kissing his mate.Unlike him, Howard couldn't dodge the spear nor could he catch the weapon with his hands before it landed on his chest straight to his heart. He hated him so much but he hated himself for being weaker than him. He stared at them with hurt and regret swimming through his eyes as he spat out blood. He tried not to howl out in pain as the silver burned through his chest, He even caught Darryl's smirk towards him before he took his last breath. The royal wolves took his body out of the hall.“ So I can't kill my brother but you can kill him?” Diana asked furrowing her eyebrows, he only smiled at her the type that he knew always melted her inside any time he flashed her one of those.“ Your brother commi
Chapter 44.“ No” Leonard growled out angrily unable to believe his ears. Decanal and Diana communicate with each other? Since all this while and he had no idea? How the hell was that possible? He looked at her half-shift form which reminded him of that night three years ago. When she looked at him with the most vengeful glare ever.“ You will choose him over me? Your brother?” His hold facade was breaking as he looked at his sister with a hurtful expression. If Diana didn't know better, she would have fallen for it but she knew him way too much to know how manipulative he can be.“ Of course, with all your crimes against us, you think I'll choose you?” Diana tsked her tongue as she circled him with a predator smile, her claws itching for a single swing of beheading.“ His kind killed our parents! They separated you from us making you grow up with that abusive man! Diana wake up!” He growled trying to attack Darryl but Diana had him under her hold by wrapping her hands around his nec
Chapter 43.After hours of going on and on in never-ending ecstasy and pleasure, Decanal finally returned the control to Diana who was already exhausted. She blushed slightly as she curled into her mate's open arms. He wrapped his cold arms around her and pulled her closer to him. He placed a kiss on her forehead muttering “ I love you” to her and she nodded with a smile on her face before mouthing it back at him. Her throat was already raw from all the screams and moans.“ I think I should start going” She croaked out to him still feeling the ache between her legs. Her heat was not over but all the many rounds of sex should calm down her body for a while.“ No, little one. Stay with me” He said sniffing her hair and breathing in her scent like a starved animal. “ I will take you back before dawn. Just stay” He muttered, his tone vulnerable as his kingly pride and brave front slipped away revealing a man who had missed his mate so much. His blue eyes stared into her hazel eyes showin
Chapter 42.The first thing Decanal did was stand up and unlock the door. She dragged Diana's wrecked body out of the room after masking her scent so every unmated wolf within their range wouldn't go crazy. She was the only wolf who could do such and she prided herself in her abilities.“ Diana?” Howard said immediately he heard the door open. He stood up and took a look at her but Decanal wasn't up for him. “ You smell different” He purred sniffing the air before he could touch her, Decanal attacked him. She knocked him out flat with just a swing of her fist. She let out her claws and cut her pinky finger. The one she broke earlier to scare Diana, a dark liquid poured out instead of blood, her poison. She placed little on Howard's mouth, not enough to kill him but enough to keep him out the whole night and also give him temporary amnesia. She sat down, ignoring the way her body screamed out in pain at every movement she made. If there was one reason why she begged Diana to take cont
Chapter 41.“ Where the fuck have you been?” Howard asked immediately as he sighted Diana from afar. Diana felt her instinct go wild at the sight of him, her gums hurt as her canine threatened to come out. She took a deep breath before talking to her wolf.“ Decanal No!”“ Why? I can just kill him now and move forward to your brother later” The wolf whined inside her head. She was slowly regretting that she returned Decanal to her body. Although she felt like she was complete again she still felt weird sharing her consciousness with another being.“ You promised” Diana hissed.“ Alright, I won't do anything but I can't promise not to do anything if he manages to make you angry”She walked towards the house while having an internal banter with her other half. It's hard to maintain your cool when all your wolf thinks about is homicide. Howard stared at her waiting for an answer but she said nothing.“ I asked you a question” He barked grabbing her wrist tightly and dragging her closer
