Thomas crept along the dark corridor, clutching a small metal key in his hand. He had stolen it from the guard's locker room, where he had pretended to be one of them.

“I must check on them,” he said to the one who had inquired.

He knew the risks of what he was doing, but he had to see Frederick and Ariana. He had to explain himself. He didn't want to keep on running knowing that they considered him as an enemy, as thr alpha's ally.

He reached the end of the hall, where a heavy iron door stood. He inserted the key into the lock and turned it slowly, hoping not to make any noise. He pushed the door open and slipped inside, closing it behind him.

He was in a large cell, dimly lit by a single bulb. He saw two figures lying on a dirty mattress in the corner. They were chained to the wall, their clothes torn and bloodied. They looked up as he entered, their eyes wide with shock and anger.
