Episode 74

The environment was filled with a sense of melancholy. The sky was overcast, and the trees swayed in the wind, as if they were mourning. Every sound seemed like a reminder about the futility of life.

After Alicia stormed out of his presence, Lord Cage had summoned Damon. As he engaged him in a conversation, he was fuming with anger. He accused Damon of betraying him by telling Alicia about the prophecy.

“How could you do this to me, Damon?,” he said, his voice rising. “I trusted you, and you betrayed me. You have forced my hands, and now, you leave me with no choice than to punish you.”

Damon fell on his knees and begged him. “I swear, my lord, I didn’t want to tell her, but she forced me to say the words. I promise to make it right,” he said.

Lord Cage’s face softened a bit, but he remained stern. “It’s too late, Damon. You shall spend the next fortnight away from the camp, and you must return when you have served your time.”
