Chapter 86

Lance's POV

In the car, I kept staring at J from time to time through the rearview mirror. She thinks I'm mad at her but I wasn't. In fact, I was happy she told me. Jonathan might not be dead now, but I had killed him completely in my head. That bastard wants to blow my cover before I do.

Finally, she was discharged and was allowed to go home after Dr Jude ran some tests and confirmed that she was good to go. As for me, I was more relieved that she could walk again with her legs. I knew only Dr Jude could help us with that.

For the umpteenth time today, I caught her staring at me again but she threw her gaze away immediately as if caught. I acted like I saw nothing.

All these while, Anna was staring at her, she also noticed how her sister was stealing glances. The car was quiet, I refused to play any music or raise a conversation. I wanted guilt to eat her all up so she wouldn't do what she did ever again.
