Darell cursed under his breath. "We have to find them. We have to know what they're planning."

Chris nodded in agreement. "I'll call in some favors. Maybe we can get some help."

Darell knew that Chris had contacts in the area, but he also knew that they couldn't rely on them too much. They had to be careful not to draw too much attention to themselves.

They spent the next few hours searching the area, asking questions and gathering information. But they couldn't find any trace of Fred and Sargus.

As the sun began to set, Darell knew that they had to give up for the day. They needed to regroup and come up with a new plan.

"We'll meet back at my place," Darell said, turning to Chris. "We'll figure something out."

Chris nodded, and they both went their separate ways.

Darell walked back to his apartment, lost in thought. He couldn't believe that his mother was willing to take Marcelyn's life just to stop him from marrying her. He knew that he had to stop her, but he didn't know how.
