CHAPTER TWO

"Oliver, are you drunk?" Mrs Berby followed him to his office.

 "I'm not"

"Then why are we hiring such masquerade in Human form"

  "Gosh, Aunty you're not funny."

"I'm serious Oliver,we need a decent and experienced lady for the position of a sales clerk and she's far from possessing those qualities!"

"You can never tell, she's funny and lively besides that,I need a payback"he winked at her.

"She's crazy! She called me a mad person Oliver,who knows how many customers she will call that!"

"Are you mad?" Oliver asked and she glared sharply at him.

"You see,you're not mad" He winked at her and she shook her head in amusement.

"You're never serious, anyway I know it's just temporary. Here's her file"

He collected it and took a glance at it before smiling at it.

 "Oliver??"

"Huh"

"The nightmares,are you still having them?"

"Yeah Aunty Berby,more worse this time around" 

"Hey don't even think about it,you can come over to the house and talk about it,for now I've got clients to attend ". She said and walked out with her shoes making the heely sounds on the clear almond tiles.

No matter how hard I try to forget the scene of the nightmares,it keeps popping up in my head every now and then,sending chills to my body.

Aunt Berby is the only one who listens to them and assures me that we'll definitely find the meaning to that cause it's a really weird and repeated dream. 

Mum won't even listen and end up saying it's just a bad dream. I hissed in frustration as I stared back at the file before me.

Laurel flipped her hair slowly and breathed in and out before opening the transparent glass door. She submitted the files before her boss and tried explaining the details on it and where he ought to sign,but he raised his hands in the air to stop her. She looked around and checked herself to fathom what the problem was but couldn't.

"Get out!!" He said and Laurel shrugged, this wasn't the first time he acted this way so she slowly walked out. He's always in a bad mood,always sour,always arrogant and so fucking beautiful and ravishing!

"Wait! These files aren't in check and I haven't seen the accountant's report" he said curtly with so much authority in his sexy voice and Laurel sighed in frustration.

"I'm sorry but these are the available ones for now,I will go to the accountant's office and get his report."

"I never asked you to speak and do well to change your attire because you just messed up my office with your stinking deodorant"he held his nose in disgust.

"I'll do that Kyle,I'm sorry for messing up your office" Laurel bitterly said.

"It's boss!! Not Kyle!!" He slammed.

"I'm sorry"Laurel apologized and left the office.

She went back to her desk feeling all cranky and sad,her best friend and colleague came over.

Kyle was her classmate during college,they were never on a straight path with each other. 

No matter how much she tried to get his attention,it ended up futile.

He was always like that and doesn't give a fuck about anyone's existence,always cold and void.

He is always at loggerheads with my brother and Liam hates his gut with every passion,She likes him so much that it aches. She knows that behind that coldness,that stoic cute face there's an angelic heart that needs to be caressed, there's an inner mind that needs to be warm. His coldness doesn't get me,in fact she's become used to it and would never give up anytime soon.

"He did it again right?" Helena asked with her face bent to examine Laurel's face properly.

"Yeah,he said I stink"

"What? Don't tell me you believed that?"

"Of course not,do you know how much I adore this perfume,I sneakily steal it from my brother's room every morning"

"Phew! Girl,I really don't know why you're crazy about that asshole. You make me want to hit some senses into your head. Your dad is the fucking CEO of Stones Fashion house and he can possibly Pay trillions into your account at the click of your fingers, why habouring all these insults?" Helena complained to her friend bitterly.

"I like him Lena,I don't know why but his wicked acts towards me turns me on as hell"

"Aaargh! What am I to do with you"

"Just help me tell him to love me back, that's all"

"You're crazy! That rich spoiled brat from the home of Vampires!!" Helena said and Laurel bursted out laughing.

"Hey that's harsh...his name is Kyle,Kyle Queen. A fallen angel that captured Laurel Stone's heart" she hugged herself dramatically and Helena hit her on the head.

"You better get yourself together,let me go back to work before he comes around with his oh so deep voice and be like 'YOU'RE FIRED!!'

"And I'll reply to him seductively with a wink' SHE'S HIRED' with my tiny voice" they both giggled at their silly statement and went back to work.

Kyle hates noise,error and everything about humans itself.

The last time a lady was here with her baby who cried non stop wasn't funny. He fired the security for letting her in,he fired the front desk receptionist for attending to her and he rejected the deal the lady had to offer.

His parents were worse as Helena would describe them 'vampires'. They could be worse than that or even more as they could suck life out of you. The Little time they spend in the company portrays it all and you would wonder how they will be in their homes.

Strict,lousy,wicked, proud and insultive.

His dad,Mr Queen had once suspended Kyle for going out to have lunch. He reprimanded him harshly for leaving his company for pleasures of the flesh which won't last than focusing on the growth of the company that might last a lifetime,just because a client from Chicago came and left in the space of thirty minutes.

He wasn't nice to anyone at all and his wife,second Jezebel in command, will leave her mansion to control the affairs of sacking,firing and hiring in the company.

Being a staff in the Queen's bank was more like a mini hell,just that the pay was awesome.

Laurel happens to be there cause she chose to,The Queen's and Stone's were very good business partners which resulted in them becoming friends and the obsession she has for Kyle made her request to work there despite every tunnel made by her brother.

Her dad is more like a billionaire managing different fashion houses in the country with other projects,her brother is dangerously cute and smart in business ideas,her mum is a dermatologist in one of the biggest hospitals there in California.

Her family is lively and perfect except for some misunderstandings in extended families and yeah, Oliver doesn't like Kyle a bit due to some valid reasons known to him especially for the fact that Laurel is mad over him.

Kyle carries this dead cold aura around him but his beauty is enough to cause a war between angels in heaven.

"So how is your brother?" Helena asked and Laurel glared at her.

"I thought you just said that you don't want her sacked."

"Scratch that Laurel,I could resign for your brother not working for some psych whose stares could rip your throat off."

"you're crazy Lena,Kyle is not like that."

"Yeah,I know. He's worse than that."

"jeez!! he might be all tough but..."

"I wasn't asking you about that Laurel."

She interrupted with a wave of her hand signaling me to stop and I could only bite my lips.

"He's fine dummy, he's just annoying and stingy!"

"See who is calling who is stingy,you're just greedy."

I gasp and stare at her before shaking my head in disagreement.

Helena is crazy about my brother,while my brother's friend is crazy about her.

How ironic!

She adores Oliver with every describing features and couldn't get enough of him, she's always asking and stalking him in secret but would shake like a frightened chicken in his presence.

"Greedy huh? I don't blame you...you keep defending someone who is much worse than me."

"He's never like that,I know it."

"Why not come over to the house? Let's rock and roll..I've got some pizza and we could..."

"I'm in!!!!" She screamed and that took me by surprise.

"Wow!"

"what? you don't want me to come?"

"no, common... you rarely honour my Invitations. I think I should be buying pizza more often" I grinned at her but she became stiff at the spot, her fingers vibrating as she swallowed hard.

I followed the direction of her gaze to find Kyle throwing a sharp glare at the both of us.

"My office,now!"
