Rafaella took a long breath to calm her confused mind after being surprised by the romantic comparison her brain had made. She noticed his aroma as she was doing so—and male sweat.

She remembered that kiss they had earlier exchanged while she was no longer gripped by the terror that had almost rendered her helpless. Once more, she felt that pull on her memory. He tasted good on her lips, she could see herself in his arms, and she could feel his mouth and hands on her body.

Rafaella shook in fear. She knew the heat curling low in her belly wasn't just a reminiscence. It was a need, a feminine yearning, for Alexus to kiss her and touch her once more.

"Are you feeling better now that the worst storm is over?"

"Yeah, thanks for your assistance."

"Hmm. You don't need to tell me that. Naturally, I will be around as your husband. We'll have rain for at least two to three days, so we're stuck in the house for a while."

"Which will affect the kids' mood," she replied. "They love spending

Even when Alexus held her hand, she was taken aback. "Rafa, good night," he merely said. And he felt the touch of her hand. "You're a loving father, Alexus," Rafaella said. "And you're the same," he replied. "I'm so proud of having them in our lives and having you in my life." Rafaella was stunned. She did not know what to answer her husband. "Not everything that came between us was a bed of roses, but I intend to make it better this time, Rafa." "What do you mean?" "I want you in my life as long as I live..." "I cherish what we have at the moment, Alex. I hope you don't get tired of understanding me for my lack of remembering my past. And I can feel how you cherish and care for me with patience. Thank you. .." "I should be the one saying that," Alexus said after swallowing. "But I h

He put back the ice pack bag to her forehead. And as he crouched again, Rafaella tugged at his collar. "But I feel fine except for the fever..." she said. He intended to restrain himself as he went in for a short kiss. He failed to succeed. He intensified the kiss and poured his heart into it, claiming her as his when her soft mouth clung to his. He had to stop playing the part. After nearly losing her, no. In return, she clung to his shoulders and kissed him equally passionately. He let out a sigh as he gradually released her from his grip. He kissed her fingers when she reached out for him again, hoping she would understand what he was trying to express before letting go. And he was not supposed to kiss her when she had a fever, but he could not stop himself. He felt anxious. When an icy cold invaded her bones, she shook with chills. Then a delicious warmth enveloped her. He tugged his shirt around her, and she sighed in contentment that didn't last long. Soon she was boiling ag

Years later, their relationship from when she was a child had all but vanished. She had given up sharing her secrets and smiling at his jokes. He had initially felt regret that they had broken the important bond they had created when they were young. That had been demonstrated by the tragic fallout from her family's tragedy. She had kicked him out of her life and had not turned around. And now? No one knew except he was not giving her up. Before leaving the room, Alexus instructed her to holler if needed. He needed to go to calm his hormonal agitation because he was confined next to her and unable to accomplish what he wanted. Many hours were spent by Rafaella lying flat on her back with her eyes closed and her fists clenched. She was barely paying attention when Alexus warned her about her excessive breathing. She inhaled and exhaled through pursed lips, all her effort regulating her body. There was no way to know if this was how she typically handled the pressure. Was she a big ba

Even though it was late, Alexus remained up. His gaze would occasionally stray to the back of his wife and up toward the rising light coming from the lampshade on the nightstand, arm's length away from where his wife was lying in the same bed but apart from him. She wanted to go gently, and he appreciated that, although he was troubled by the wall she had built between them, regardless of her amnesia. Even in this situation, Rafaella treated him just as coldly as before. Yet, he was sure that she desired him in his manly capacity. But now that someone out there wanted to bury her, there was a trust issue. Yet he could ensure his wife would always be protected as long as she was with him. And by then, everything had returned to normal for her. He anticipated that she would have the flexibility to make their marriage work. He couldn't accept it himself, but he was troubled. He feared Rafaella would argue that their relationship was solely based on a piece of paper. With him, no. She d

Alexus raised her above him by wrapping his hands around her hips. She grinned, a siren with close-kept secrets. He wished she would reveal some of those secrets soon. He was dumbfounded by her slender body outside. She moaned boldly in ecstasy as he ran his hands over her thighs, stomach, and breasts. She leaned over him and extended herself. Much to his dismay, she closed her eyes as he slid her nipple on his tongue. He wanted her entirely with him, but as she sighed, he continued the motion that had made her feel good until she called his name in a desirous, private voice. She joined her legs behind his back as he sat up, leaning her over his arm. In the mirror on the dressing table, he could see the length of her back from behind her. His fingers followed the size of her spine. "Are you mine, Rafaella?" he murmured. She remained silent but met his gaze, and he dropped his head to taste her breast again. He moved to the other breast as a result of her throaty moan. He adored

Alexus wondered. My mind was still strangely foggy after that night with Rafaella, despite the urgency of the work at hand. I had to think things through. He laced his shoes and stepped outside the cottage. And he began to run alongside Timothy. "Are you alright," Timothy questioned. "Yes, I require some privacy while she is still asleep." "Why? Are you two back together?" "I hope so, but ladies can sometimes be difficult to grasp." Timothy chuckled and shook his head in an upward and downward motion. "I can say it's not solely to protect your wife. You've fallen in love with your wife once more." He didn't dispute Timothy's assertion. They were rushing outside on the nature trail to the beach's shoreline a few minutes later. The buzzing in my head began to subside as hot air erupted from my lips, and chilly air rushed through my nostrils. Indeed, a run was exactly what I needed. Yet, when my shoes sank into the sand, I understood I shouldn't take advantage of Rafael

Alexus felt content as he emerged from the bedroom and closed the door of the room he and his wife shared in that cottage. He let her sleep, which he knew she needed to recover fully. He went to where his children were so they would not sulk with him. And such was his joy when they came forward to meet him. "Where's your wife?" Timothy asked. "I decided to give her a breathing space and check with the kids." "Don't worry about them as they were enjoying themselves?" "Daddy?" Joshua said, trying to get his father's attention. "Yes, son?" He replied as he picked him up. He watched his little girl with Libby, scribbling something near the bayside. "Where is Mommy?" "She will follow in a while," he replied. "I want mom..." Alexus roared with laughter. "Alright, watch for Lucy, Tim... it's strong current today..." "No problem. We'll take care of her..." replied Timothy. Alexus dropped the boy, and they walked hand in hand back to the cottage. Rafaella's eyes fluttered open like

It wasn't as if it had been ages since they had one another, but it had been long enough. Two weeks were long enough for him. Damn, he'd missed his sunshine. Alexus could not help but sigh frequently. He found it hard to imagine his wife performing such an undercover role. It worsens the pain in his stomach more than the medication she gave him. With their twins playing in the kitchen and the three agents keeping an eye on them, he was close enough to kiss her but didn't dare. Not until they had a chance to converse. Rafaella was ecstatic as she watched her mother with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face as she hugged her only sibling, Cindy. Despite having concerns about what would come next in their lives now that the authorities had apprehended Colleen, Jasper, and their gang, she felt blessed despite these misgivings. It was a joyful moment since Rafaella's only sister had returned. She felt so much happiness in those moments. And even her mother could not hide the happiness and security of her will to see her two daughters together again. She quietly studied the profile of Cindy sharing her mother's happiness and tears while Gerald extended his hand to hold her mother's hand and kissed it. What a sweet man, she thought with a smile, but it vanished from her lips as she met her husband's facade, somewhat scowling. She strolled to join him, seated in one of the chairs with Ruslan and Leo nearby. "What is ailing you?" She asked in a whisper. "Nothing," his evasive reply and avoidi

Three days have passed since Rafaella was saved from the hands of Colleen, who kidnapped her as a ransom for Alexus to sign their divorce papers, but Alexus disagreed. Instead, he saved Rafaella from the hands of Jasper, who wanted to take advantage of her physically. They found out that Colleen was still in the clinic because she was high on substances when she was arrested, along with Jasper and some staff who hid in an abandoned farm that used to belong to one of her friends. And according to the investigation at the said location, the FBI group led by Gerald obtained two boxes of substance and some informative documents they did not divulge publicly. Alexus's stomach ache had also healed due to taking diet pills which Rafaella used as an accessory not to have intimacy with his ex-girlfriend, which he claimed was adequate but not good for his health as he felt deteriorating and weakling. So, the incident became a joke among the group. Rafaella felt even happier because t

  • His Contracted Bedspacer (The Heir 1)   The Rescue

Rafaella leaned her head against his shoulder and asked, "Can we just go to the woods?" He echoed in her ear, "I told you we couldn't. The woods are the worst area to flee to because doing so would be a suicide mission, and I also want her off my back. And that is to see her off to prison." Rafaella frowned at his remark, but she didn't need convincing—literally or figuratively—because she sensed she was about to enter a minefield. The area was eerie. She wanted to get back to her children to ensure no one was there to snap them away. That's why she was impatient in being in this place when she wanted to be home. She was never like this with her covert mission, but she had no idea this was how people with kidnapped family members felt in restless turmoil. Suppose there was compensation for being in this abandoned area, that was to be with Alexus. Having him beside her could make her forget her restlessness for at least a while. "Do you have a plan while we're hiding here?"

With a look of fear and determination, Rafaella struggled to untie her hands. Despite her fear, she hurriedly untied the duct tape holding both hands together when Colleen screamed and threatened her husband. She's just an unbelievable freak," she shook her head and thought. How could she get Alexus's feelings if she kept threatening him? She knew it would not work with Alexus. Was she that desperate to get his attention or something else? She figured out before that she might be desperate for lack of cash. And he thought Alexus was his only hope to help him. Rafaella got off the bed and sat on the floor. She looked around the room, wondering how she could get out of the room she was in. As fear registered in her brain, she tried to figure out how many of Colleen's men were so that she could estimate and know where they were located in that farmhouse. She remembered earlier that he didn't see anyone standing outside the house when they arrived, so she guessed that Colleen's men w

Oh, I can't breathe. That thought quickly crossed her mind when Rafaella woke up. Her eyes widened as she struggled to get enough air into her lungs. Something covered her mouth and nose. And her heart beat faster as she glanced around the unfamiliar small room with a foul smell. She could hardly move as her hands were tied up behind her. She closed her eyes again and thought about what had happened last and how she ended up in a dark, unfamiliar place. The last thing she remembers was someone hitting her on the head when she came out of the comfort room of the cottage that belonged to Gwen. She rested her head against the bed's headboard and closed her eyes again as many images played through her mind. She remembered Alexus and their children. Oh, what's going on? Her thoughts were jumbled. I shouldn't freak out. She told herself that she needed to think clearly. as she leaned back, starting to remember what had happened. Rafaella stared at the laptop on her desk for the hundredth time facing the window. She had been checking Colleen's latest media update but found nothing, and she considered the fugitive woman not using her real identity. But she found out that someone was also digging into her records since many articles popped up that were not there two months ago. The publications claimed that Colleen had been institutionalized at a for-profit facility. Later reports mentioned her disappearance from the public eye. She wanted a calm life without being involved in the commercial matters of her family. What the hell kind of person lives like that? Rafaella asked. She looked at the Grant Pharmaceutical company's finances while still in shock. It combined with another profitable medical business while experiencing a decline in profits. Rafaella shook her head as she processed the new information. Given the business's financial stability, making money would have been tough when she last remembered
