Rafaella fixed her gaze on the diamond engagement ring Alexus had described to her and the flashing wedding band.

Everything for her was a late event, but she couldn't help but smile.

She was enjoying a low-key debut party with her husband and wearing her wedding band and engagement ring, which she had just gotten from the man she could hardly believe was now her husband. He was also her most excellent friend, though they occasionally had arguments that made him her best enemy.

Rafaella's eyes followed Alexus, and she looked at his face with surprise as he looked down at her.

"Rafa, dance with me," he ordered. He was anticipating her rising.

"I don't think it's a good idea. If you saw me dance, I think you'd agree that I don't like the dance floor and that it doesn't like me either."

"And I am not a judge for that."

Her tongue broke free to moisten her suddenly parched lips. She exhaled in an audible sigh as soon as his eyes flitted to and landed on her mouth.
