Chapter 18 Council Meeting.

Introducing Aria felt easy. From the looks on the faces of my pack members, I could tell they liked her and that they welcomed her with their whole hearts. Liking Aria was really easy, I gave her that credit. She has that ability to warm her way into people's hearts— the exact opposite of her twin. I could feel the pack's acceptance, judging from the smiles on their faces.

But the one person I knew didn't like Aria was Harriett. She didn't even make an effort to hide it. She just sat down— while others stood up— her murderous gaze channeled towards Aria. I found that very amusing. Knowing that she was already thinking of Aria as a competition. Sadly, I would never cast a second glance her way.

So, in that light, I closed the distance between Aria and I— which was inadvertently created during the introduction— and re-entwined our elbows. Her face registered surprise but I gave her a reassuring smile.
