Mrs. Aldridge doesn’t pay attention like always. She puts her tablet onto the desk and takes a sip of whatever is in her fancy thermos.

Theo begins with the recent records and for the first thirty minutes, his presentation floods easily. To his great surprise, Mrs. Aldridge is unusually quiet today.

She is clicking on her tablet whatever she reviews since the beginning of the meeting. Theo isn’t even sure if the source of her attention is about the topic he is discussing with his boss.

“I appreciate your team for this meticulous work.” Robert declares as he keeps checking the values. “Can I see last year’s records to compare them with these ones?”

That wasn’t expected by the presentation team, since the subject of this meeting only includes the last quarter of this year. Fortunately, Theo knows how his boss’s mind works well and has ordered them to prepare those extra records.

“Sure.” He casually turns to the pages in front of him and sees with the out of his eyes that Mrs. Aldridge's head suddenly turns to his direction. She slowly puts her tablet to the side and gathers her hand under her chin. Maybe she isn’t that unusual today, is she?

Theo suppresses his smile and keeps looking for the old records. Of course, the lady boss thinks that he doesn’t have them.

While arranging his pages, he sees his cell phone’s screen lit up with a notification from Meli. Theo wouldn’t even check it if the message wasn’t from her. Since he couldn’t reply to her previous text, he picks up his phone and reads what she sent.
