C H A P T E R 98 - Gwen.

'Gwen... I would appreciate it if you could come here now...'

I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard Samantha's voice echo through my head, for I had been nearly convinced that she had spoken right here next to me. But that was not the case. There had been something about the tone of her voice that warned me about the fact that there was something wrong. I didn't know how I knew, but I was willing to call it a gut feeling. I had been sitting on my sofa up until that moment, waiting for an acceptable time to start making my way there, but now I was starting to wonder if it was possible that I had taken to long. Was she shifting?

'I am on my way. Are you shifting?'

I felt like I needed to know what was going on, what it was that I was going to walk into when I got there, because as much as I wanted to say that I was prepared for it, I knew that I was not. On the contrary, I was the furthest thing from fine that you could possibly be, my own heart rate spiking through the roof. I
