Dilemma

I knocked softly on the door before pushing it open. He was seated behind his large desk, eyes fixed on the screen. He glanced up at me as I sauntered in with his coffee. His rigid features softened as soon as our eyes met and his pursed mouth stretched into a heart-felt smile.

"Looks like I surprised you," I noted, returning his smile.

"I couldn't sense you coming," he leaned back in his chair, adopting a relaxing posture. He popped his shoulders and heaved a sigh all the while grinning at me.

"Well, you were too taken with your second wife to notice my arrival," I feigned jealousy and set the tray in front of him. He grasped my wrist and made me sit on his lap.

"Is my first wife jealous?" he wrapped his strong arms around my waist and asked.

"Maybe," I replied, curious to know his reply. He held my chin in response and turned my face to look at him.

"My wife should know then that she is the sole owner of my heart and that I am too smitten by her to look at another," his lips

also I wonder if esme found her mate already , if it's the mother's gaurd, and she cares more for power then there bond so that's ehy she doesn't think the bond was enough to make him want he's real mate...?
