Chapter 2-6

Whitney pov 

After having dinner with my family me and my twin sister did the dishes while talking and laughing about different topics 

When done we gathered with the rest of our family at the back yard beside the pool 

"Whitney how's your potion coming along any changes " dad inquired 

"No changes for now but I'm not giving up" I replied 

"Yeah it's not like your ever gonna get it,you've at it for weeks" Jace huffed

I don't get why he just love teasing me all the time 

"Well at least I'm not a quitter and dumb ass like you"I said sticking tongue out

Mom rolled her eyes at our childish fight 

" Stacey do you have any plans for tomorrow " mom asked stacey

"Whitney  and I would go to the fabric market to get materials for her custome" Stacey replied looking at me while I nodded

"And Erick's coming along" I added 

Erick who have been busy and quiet was forced to look up

"And who said I wanted to come with you guys" he questioned frowning 

"Well you didn't seem like you had any plans for tomorrow, and guess what Kathryn would be there to" I replied looking at my nails knowing he's sure to agree 

And if you're wondering who Kathryn is, she's Erick big time crush 

"Really, if she's coming then I will join you guys" Erick eyes beamed 

"Oh yeah, so you can spend some time with Kath right" jace teased 

"Shut it man" Erick  threw a pillow at Jace who caught it half way 

"Alright kids that's enough it getting late time for bed "dad said getting up from his seat 

We all stood up to leave but mom called me back saying she had something to tell me 

"Whitney I have something to tell you,I don't want you to perform the icesaket dance with Jack I have someone else in mind for you" mom said

Jackson and I had an ice skate dance to perform because I was challenged by the school queen bee and Jackson volunteered to  be my partner. 

We've been practicing for months and I even told mom about it and she agreed, I don't get why she just changed her mind when it's just two days to the dance 

                          Chapter 3

                      Whitney's pov

"Mom I don't understand, I thought we talked about this and you agreed to let me dance with Jack why the sudden change of mind, and what guy are you talking about" I asked utterly confused 

She heaved a sigh and said

"I didn't want to tell you this now,but you're betrothed"

I couldn't help but burst into laughter 

"Did I say anything funny, or do I look like a clown to you now" Mom asked with a frown on her face

"Oh you're serious but what do you mean by am betrothed, and to who, how did this happen, why wasn't I told until now, does dad know about this " my eyebrows creased as I bombard mom with questions 

I couldn't still get the fact that I was betrothed and to someone I don't know, that's unbelievable 

I looked at mom expecting clear answers to the questions I just asked 

"Yes you've been betrothed since you were a baby, he's name Is Jasper knight he's the son of a business tycoon,you both were supposed to get married when you're ready" mom kept on talking but I already zoned out 

I was trying to digest what mom was telling me,

I am betrothed?

but this is the 21st century nobody betroths their children anymore right

"He's been studying abroad and now that his back he thought it would be best if you guys get to know each other before getting married that's why I suggested you both dance at your contest instead of you and Jack and your dad knows about this"mom completed her speech while I stared at her like a bloated goat

I can't allow this to happen, I love Jack and even if I get  married it should be to someone I know and love not some Jasper whatever his last name is called

But before reacting I need to talk to dad, I gotta know what is really going on to be sure am not being pranked

"Uh mom I'll get back to you but on the dance issue am not dancing with Jason or Jasper, Jack and I had already rehearsed our dance steps you just can't expect us to just switch partners, I'm gonna go talk to dad" I said 

"Alright honey you can go talk to your father about it but try to reconsider about Jasper, you gonna love him just give a him chance ok" mom said

I nodded then walked away from her presence climbing stairs leading to my parents bedroom while thinking of what mom said 

I got to the door and knocked 

"Come in" I heard a muffled come in 

I opened the door and stepped in to see dad sitting on the bed,I walked towards him 

"Oh pumpkin why you here I thought you'd be in bed by now" dad asked 

"Yeah I thought so too" I mumbled 

Dad sensing my mood quickly asked 

"What's wrong, are you alright why the long face"

"Nothing I'm Alright but I do have a question though" I said 

"Ok I'm all ears" dad said giving me his full attention 

"Dad am I betrothed" I asked turning to face him

"I see your mom told you already,  well your not really betrothed, you get to chose whether  you want to marry him or not, when he comes and you guys get to know each other if you like him you can marry him, if not you don't have to, it not a do or die decision" dad explained calming me down a bit 

A bit cause I think mom likes the Jasper guy and that means trouble cause I know she's sure gonna persuade me to marry him

Nevertheless I feel better now, I heaved a sigh of relief 

" thanks dad for explaining I was thinking i was really betrothed" I said hugging him

"You know we won't force you to do want you dont want to, okay now go to bed it's way past your bed time" he told 

"Okay good night dad" I said shutting the door the room and headed for mine 

After a hot shower and putting on my pjs I snuggled to my teddy bear thinking of Jack and how it would be if we were actually dating 

Soon I was in dreamland 

                        Chapter 4

                      Whitney pov

I yawned as I woke up from sleep,scratching my eyes I rolled up the blinds of my window staring at the neighborhood.

Suddenly a mischievous idea came to mind,I grinned taking out the fake robot chrockroaches I made,

how about a little  prank.

I tiptoed to Stacey's room opening the door gently I peeped in to see if she was awake.

After making sure she was asleep, I stepped into the room, i gently walked closer to her bed,, lifted her shirt and dropped the chrockroach on her back then left the  room.

I did the same to Erick and Jace before turning on the robots with the little remote in my hand

The chrockroaches began crawling all over their bodies while they woke with a start, they started screaming trying to get the fake bugs of their bodies while I rolled in laughter 

"Whitney I know you're behind this just wait till I get you" Erick yelled from his room

They rushed out of their rooms to see me laughing in the hallway 

"you better get this things off me" Stacey yelled

I quickly turned roaches off and took them off my  siblings, only for me to be tripped and sat on by my siblings 

"how does payback feel?" Stacey asked

"Urgh 😡you woke me from my sleep" Erick growled while I  squirmed trying to get up but trust me their weight was too much,

please remind me not to prank them first thing in the morning 

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry please get off I'm losing my breath" I gasped pleadingly 

"We won't get up,well not until you agree to our request" Jace said

"I'll do anything just get off" they got up while I stood gasping for air

"Okay,for your punishment you'll treat us out to lunch and dinner" Jace said licking his lip

"What a glutton" I mumbled 

"Did you say something" Jace asked 

"No I didn't,I agree to your request" I said

Mom and dad came out probably on hearing the noise

"What's wrong,I thought I heard someone gasping for air" mom asked looking at us 

"Nothing mom" we chorused 

                    

I walked back to my room feeling good about the prank even though I had to pay for it,

 there's nothing better than a good laugh in the morning 

Getting to my room I stripped and went into the ensuite 

after doing my morning business, I came out of the ensuite with a towel wrapped around my body 

Opening my closet, I searched for clothes to wear I settled for a black baggy trousers, silver tank top with black hoodie and some undies 

Done applying cream on my body I wore the clothes I selected,

All dressed up I blow dried my hair before curling it leaving a fringe at the front before tying my hair in a high ponytail 

Putting makeup has not been my thing I just applied lip gloss and put on simple earrings

Yeah I was good to go

Taking my bag and some dollar bills with me before exiting my room joining my family for breakfast 

⏩⏩Fast Forward⏩⏩

After breakfast mom told me Jasper would come see me at school, I just nodded and joined my siblings in the car and off we go.

During the car ride I thought about the dance contest, I have only today and tomorrow to complete my costume and rehearse with Jack. I don't know what I would have done without Jack, he had helped me in many ways

Soon we got to school and headed to class 

                           Chapter 5

                         Whitney pov

Today's classes were hectic, I sighed heading to the locker room to drop off my books when I was blocked by the school queen bee Tara and her minions she calls friends 

Tara is the school queen cause she's the hottest girl in school all thanks to her fake boobs and ass.

She has made it her hobby to challenge me every chance she gets maybe because my mom compared me to her in her presence, so she feels she's better than me 

"What do you want Tara" I asked tiredly 

"Oh nothing much, just wanted to ask if you're really going through with the dance contest or if you wanna back of .....you know to save yourself the embarrassment" she said in her annoying squeaky voice 

"Nah I don't think so, I'll go on with the contest" I said smiling 

"Okay your choice, just don't say...

I didn't warn you, tata" she said leaving with her friends swaying her ass as she walked 

I rolled my before opening my locker dumping my books in before joining my siblings at the cafeteria

I ordered my food from the counter taking my tray, I eye searched for my siblings

I soon spotted them at the far end of the cafeteria, I began walking to them

"Hey guys"I said taking a seat 

"Hey,what took you so long"Stacey asked munching on her food

"Sorry,I got delayed my Tara, she wanted me to back out of the contest" I said slapping off Jace hands from my chicken nuggets 

"Ouch, what was that for" Jace yelped scowling at me 

"Go get your own"i said

Soon Jack walked into the cafeteria looking cute as ever. The girls in the cafe tried getting his attention by opening their shirts buttons and raising their skirts up exposing their boobs and thighs

I rolled my eyes at their flirting display feeling jealous. I mean his not that cute, okay maybe his that cute but that doesn't mean they'll act like sluts,

We're in school for God's sake they should have some decency 

"Ooooh seems like someone's jealous" Erick teased with a knowing look 

"Oh I thought you've suddenly gotten dumb, you've been quiet" I said trying to change the subject 

"Don't even try to change the subject" Erick said

Knowing he's not gonna stop asking I bowed my head and began eating 

"I know you're jealous but your not going to admit" Jace said munching his food noisily 

"Can't you eat like a matured person, and I'm not jealous" I said denying the fact i was jealous of the stares those girls were giving Jack

Jack eyes roamed the cafe,probably searching for our table course he smirked when he saw our table and walked towards us

Taking a seat beside me he exchanged pleasantries with my siblings while I acted like I didn't know he was beside me 

"So I've become invisible you cant see me right" Jack feigned anger

"Sorry I didn't see you" I said

"Well you didn't see me, but your food did..... its calling me to take it" he licked his lips taking my tray of food to his side eating it

"Hey that's mine give it back" I said trying to get my food back from him but he blocked my hands

"It was yours now it mine,go get another one" he said 

Grumbling I stood up and went to the counter ordering for another tray of food 

Taking it back to our table I settled and digged into my food

I heaved a sigh lost in thought 

"Are you okay barbie" Jack asked he prefer calling me barbie than my name,he said I look like a doll cause my eyes are big 

"Yeah I'm Alright just thinking" I replied furrowing my eyebrows 

"About what" they asked eagerly gazing at me 

I looked at them before sighing "I'm  betrothed" 

Jace who was slurping his drink spat it out on Erick face who was sitting opposite him before busting into laughter  they all joined laughing except Jack who had an unreadable expression on his face 

"What do you mean" Jack asked 

Others already sensing the seriousness stopped laughing and listened 

                         Chapter 6

                     Whitney POV

"Mom called me yesterday, and told me I was betrothed...

at first I was shocked but I asked dad about it he told me I wasn't really betrothed...

I would meet the guy and if I liked him we would get married" I explained 

It feels kinda weird talking about this but I couldn't keep this away from my siblings and friends 

"Wow, and whose this guy you're engaged to" Stacey asked 

"His name is Jasper knight son of a business tycoon

Mom said he would come to school today to see me " I replied rubbing my forehead 

Jace and Erick were quite 

"Well that was unexpected I actually thought you were betrothed" Jack said 

I could've have sworn I saw a sign of relief in Jack's eyes or maybe I was hallucinating 

"I'm just glad I'm not betrothed...

I can't even believe mom said I should dance with that Jasper instead of Jack, someone I don't even know" I said annoyed

"She said that" Jack asked looking hurt 

"She did but I refused, you're my dance partner, we've been practicing for weeks...

She just can't tell me to change partners" I said

"Whoah seems like mom likes this Jasper guy and that's gonna be a huge problem" Erick said

I sighed knowing he was right...

When mom likes someone or something she can be really annoying

 but there's no way I'm agreeing with her arrangement. I thought 

"By the way where's Kathryn, I haven't seen her" I asked changing the subject 

"She's not in school today, she's home sick" Erick said looking sad

"Aww don....." I was saying but got cut off when a junior student told me someone was looking for me

"Uh...excuse me guys I gotta go" I excused myself standing up

"Go ahead, I'll help you finish your food" Jace said

I rolled my eyes and walked out of the cafeteria following the junior student 

I wonder who that could be

Following the junior student he led me to the parking lot of the school then pointed at a guy leaning on a sports car, he was backing us

"He's the one who asked me to call you" the student told

"Okay thanks" I thanked him then walked up to the guy and tapped his back gaining his attention 

"Hmm I was told you wanted to see me" I said politely 

He turned before smirking 

"Hi I'm Jasper knight, your parents must have told you about me" he said extending his hand for a handshake 

So he's the Jasper, 

he doesn't look bad he's quite tall,a little bit muscular, he's handsome and he has a few tattoos with piercings

He's not my type of guy but I won't judge 

'But Jack is your type of guy ' my subconscious said 

I took his outstretched hand 

"I'm Whitney" I said 

"Could we get out of here maybe somewhere more private" he asked looking around 

"Um...sure let me go get my things" I agreed 

Getting back to the cafeteria I told the guys I was leaving...

 that my so called BETROTHED was here to pick me up and promised to tell them all about when I get back 

Taking my bag, I went to get a permission slip from the principal before going to meet Jasper 

Walking down the hallway wasn't easy,the stares some boys were giving me was uncomfortable but I managed to get through 

Getting to the parking lot I saw Tara (the school queen bee) smooching with Jasper 

His hands on her ass

I shook my head and walked towards them, this is the boy my mom wants to get married to 

Its wasn't up to 10 minutes and he's smooching with a random girl 

Pfft typical flirt

I walked up to them

"I think you both should get a room" I said startling them

They released from each others grip while I rolled my eyes

"What the hell are you doing here" Tara yelled glaring at me

"Can we go now I've got my things" I said to Jasper totally ignoring Tara 

"Sure let's go,um come in" he said feeling awkward 

I walked to the other side of the car got in and put on my seat belt 

while Jasper bade goodbye to his new found bitch promising to call her later 

He got into the driver's seat and zoomed out of the school compound
