John's words left both William and Jennifer slightly stunned.

Lydia's expression changed slightly. She assumed her grandfather would not find out, but it appeared he had already guessed.

"Simon placed that call under threat. However, you're all so naive that you have no idea what will happen next."

John complained bitterly, "You let him go solely because of his promise. He must have left with revenge in mind rather than keeping his word.

Jennifer became even more terrified and, in panic, asked, "Dad, do you mean Simon will retaliate against us?"

"Lydia, you're smart enough not to make such a simple mistake. Have you been completely bewitched by Henry?"

"I—" Lydia wanted to argue.

"Enough! It's pointless to say anything now." John interrupted Lydia.
