Henry did not provide a direct response but instead posed a question. "Would you believe me if I told you I've investigated everyone in the company?"

"What do you think?" Lydia gave Henry a disapproving look.

"Alright, cut the nonsense and tell me seriously," Lydia said.

"Um...

"It's just a coincidence; I have a friend who knows a little about him. So, when I was about to join the team, I used that information." Henry had to come up with another reason.

"I see. I have to say—you're extremely lucky. You always seem to meet benefactors who will help you," Lydia said

"Yeah, but you're my biggest benefactor. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have joined the company, let alone lived so comfortably," Henry said jokingly.

However, Lydia thought he was serious; she snorted coldly. "It's good you're aware of it. Work well in the company for me, and don't cause problems."

"That's good. Since you're probably free now, why don't you drop me off at home?" Lydia said.
