"Fine, for Lydia's sake, I won't bother arguing with you." Henry shook his head and pulled out his phone, about to make a call.

Just then, Janette's phone rang. Her expression changed when she saw the caller and said urgently, "It's...it's Wilfred."

"Oh, perfect," Henry said casually.

Janette, feeling helpless, quickly answered the call and put it on speaker so Henry could hear.

She said politely, "Hello, Mr. White!"

Wilfred was not in the mood for pleasantries. He snorted coldly, "Ms. Blake, have you considered our proposal?"

Janette glanced at Henry, who remained silent, making her even more uneasy. She hesitated but then bit the bullet and said, "Mr. White, your terms are too harsh for us. We truly can't accept them."

"So you're refusing?" Wilfred's voice was filled with anger.

Janette looked at Henry again, feeling increasingly uncertain, but forced herself to say, "I'm sorry, but we really can't agree."

"Alright, but don't blame me for what happens next," Wilfred said.
