Why did I choose Ancient Greek Gods and the language?

Since Selene is one of the more traditional names for the Moon Goddess, I wanted to keep the same Panthenon of Gods rather than chopping and choosing between multiple panthenons.

The connection between Ancient Greek and the Fae, or faeries, lies in the realm of mythology and folklore. While there isn't a direct historical or linguistic connection between Ancient Greek culture and the Fae as depicted in Celtic folklore, both traditions are rich in myths, legends, and supernatural beings.

Ancient Greek mythology is filled with a diverse array of gods, goddesses, nymphs, and other supernatural entities, each with their own powers, attributes, and domains. So, I felt that Helios, known for bringing light to the world, would definitely be a suitable God for the Fae to follow.

While Selene and Helios are not typically depicted as siblings, Selene is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia and Helios is the son of Hyperion. This means they are half siblings, and even though the Fae do not worship the moon like the Wolf-Shifters, Selene is still revered by them.

The Dark Fae are another matter. They worship neither Helios nor Selene. The most suitable Goddess for them to worship is Nyx, the primordial goddess of the night. Nyx is often portrayed as one of the earliest divine beings, emerging from Chaos at the beginning of creation.
