Adriana's Story

Throughout this book, Adriana and Daemon will still play a major part in the story.  There will still be chapters from their points of view that will often not have anything to do with Tyler directly.

In this story, Adriana will explore her life as part-Fae and meet family members, and Daemon will be examining the changes in his life as the mate of a very powerful woman. Tyler's story runs parallel to this as his relationship with Avril develops, along with the challenges they face as a multiracial couple.

As you have seen with Duan, not everyone in the Fae realm is as accepting of the royal family's relationships with wolf shifters and Lycans.

Adriana's Point of ViewWe all went outside into the Queen's private courtyard, off the main throne room. No one was allowed in the enclosed space without the Queen's permission, so it was safe to say that we wouldn't be disturbed. The vast courtyard was a breathtaking oasis of beauty. It was enclosed by intricately woven vines of silver and gold, forming a natural barrier that shimmered with an otherworldly glow. Flowers of every conceivable colour bloomed in harmony, their petals radiating a gentle, ethereal light. In the centre of the courtyard stood a majestic fountain crafted from what looked like ornately carved crystal. It sparkled in the ambient glow, casting tiny rainbows in the air. The clear water flowed gracefully, forming intricate patterns that seemed to dance to an unseen melody.Flickering butterflies with wings that glowed like precious gemstones flitted around the fountain, adding to the enchantment of the scene. On closer inspection, the flickering of the butterflie

Adriana's Point of View"How come no one came to help when the King and Queen were killed?" Richard blurted out before adding, "Sorry. Queen Aurora."Until now, Richard and the other guards had been silent in the background. The feelings of shock and embarrassment hit me due to how he phrased his question, not even beginning his sentence with her title. The look I gave him obviously conveyed that, as he quickly amended his statement.Although I could tell that Richard was feeling annoyed or some similar emotion, there was still no excuse for rudeness. I would make that quite clear through our mind-linked conversation later. Although, Aurora was effectively my great-something grandmother and had insisted I call her Aurora, I was still wary of how I addressed her."That is an excellent question," Aurora answered. "One that has been asked a multitude of times and has been investigated thoroughly. From what we have found, there was strong blood magic at play here, as a possibility that va

Adriana's Point of View"Now that that has been settled, there is just a matter of who will train you. I have the perfect person in mind. I would like to introduce you to more of your family, my eldest son and his mate," announced Aurora as she indicated to something behind me.I hadn't noticed that two other people had entered the courtyard. Upon turning to acknowledge them, I could see the resemblance between the male Fae, Avril and Queen Aurora."This is Thorn, my eldest son, and his mate, Ariana," she said. "These are your great-great-great-great grandparents."I knew that the Fae lived a long, long time and were possibly even immortal. Not sure about that. What surprised me was that his wolf-shifter mate was still alive. There was no way a wolf-shifter lived that long. I wondered if the mating process had anything to do with that.Thinking back to what Aurora had said, their eldest child ruled for 300 years as the Lycan king. Did that mean Daemon and I would be long-lived as well

  • Hidden Legacy (The Lost Luna)   Slight Changes

As my story has developed, I have added in a Fae language. Since the story lines follow ancient Greek gods and goddesses, I have used ancient Greek for the Fae language and Latin for witch's spells. I might as well put all those high school Latin lessons to use. Truth be told, I love languages, especially my own native language, Māori. I did think of adding that into the story line as the Fae language, but I didn't think it fitted as well as Ancient Greek. The thing with all languages is the dialects that every language has, including English. For starters, I speak New Zealand English, which has idioms that might not make sense to Americans, and vice versa. I have tried to be as consistent as possible with the ancient Greek dialects, but there may be cross-overs.In chapter 5, I have updated it slightly and added a few lines of dialogue. The words: Ō basílissa are pronouned oh bah-SEE-lis-sah. The emphasis is on the SEE. The sentence: Laleîte tēn koinḕn glôssan toû Gēs Vasíleio is pro

Tyler's Point of ViewAfter Duan had stormed out of the throne room, all of us followed the Fae Queen out into her private courtyard. It was just as I imagined a magical courtyard to be, even with the butterflies who were, in fact, little fairies. We sat down next to a little pond on ornately carved stone benches while being served some sweet cakes and drinks. It was interesting listening to how Lycans came to exist. Since the first Lycan was created from a wolf-shifter and Fae, I wondered if Avril and my children would possibly turn into Lycans. I asked Queen Aurora if that would be the case with Avril and me, but she assured me it wouldn't. Her grandchild was fated to be the first Lycan and king.We were also introduced to Queen Aurora's son and daughter-in-law, whose eldest child was the first Lycan. They were Adriana's great-great-great-great-grandparents. When Avril and I were officially mated, he would be my brother-in-law. Did that make me Adriana's great-something uncle? While

Tyler's Point of ViewI couldn't believe it. Avril wanted to mate with me and would let me mark her. We were going to be fully mated. Echo was jumping around inside my head in absolute excitement."Are you sure?" I asked her, worried she didn't fully understand what marking entailed. "Once we mate and mark, there's no turning back. It is permanent, and the bond can not be broken. Even rejection doesn’t work.""I'm sure," she said, nodding. "I have always wanted to find my true fated mate. Unfortunately, worry for my mother and the possibility of forces working against her, led me to prematurely become betrothed to a man I neither respect or love. Thankfully, my mother made sure that the fated mate clause was part of the contract. I have no doubts where you are concerned. Neither Selene the Moon Goddess, nor her brother Helios the God of Light, would fate me to someone so wrong for me. Let's seal our bond."With that, I leaned in, kissing her. At first, her mouth was closed, so I ran m

Adriana's Point of View In the quiet grove, bathed in the soft glow of filtered sunlight, Adriana stood with Thorn and Daemon. Thorn's mate, Ariana, had left us a while ago, leaving just the three of us. Daemon would also be training with me, but at this stage, he was observing. Thorn made us sit down on the glass. A whispering breeze carrying the promise of hidden secrets. My heart raced with anticipation as I sought to unlock the dormant magic within. "Place your hands flat out on the ground," Thorn advised. "Now, I want you to empty your mind." The last part of that was hard. I had never meditated before and wasn't sure how to empty my mind. "Focus on your breathing," Thorn said. This was much easier to do than trying to empty something that never stopped thinking. Closing my eyes, I slowly breathed in through my nose, allowing my diaphragm to expand down. Then, just as slowly, I breathed out through my mouth, pushing my diaphragm back up. My fingertips started tingling wher

Thorn, Ariana, Adriana and I ate a leisurely late lunch while chatting. We talked about everything and nothing. With all the training I underwent to become Alpha, there hadn't been time for random chatter since I became a teenager. I wasn't used to this kind of chatter but found myself enjoying it immensely. "Right, young Daemon," declared Thorn, "you are next." Like Adriana, Thorn made me sit on the grass with my hands flat upon the ground. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, attempting to quiet the chaos within. The gentle rustling of leaves and the distant song of a bird-filled my ears. Inhaling the crisp air, I focused on grounding myself. As Thorn guided me through the meditation, I envisioned roots extending from my fingertips, burrowing into the earth below. It took time, but gradually, I felt a subtle shift. A warmth surged through me, a connection to the earth's energy. Opening my eyes, I saw Thorn nod approvingly. The others grinned, recognizing the milestone. The elem

Adriana’s Point of ViewThe room where Elizabeth awaited her fate was dim and unwelcoming, its sparse furnishings and plain white walls starkly contrasting with the lavish surroundings she had once commanded as Luna. Two pack warriors stood guard at the door, their expressions unreadable but their stances alert. Inside, Elizabeth sat stiffly on a plain wooden chair, her back straight and her chin raised in defiance. Her once-impeccable appearance was fraying; her outfit was wrinkled, her hair slightly out of place, but her pride remained intact. When the door opened, Duncan entered first, followed closely by Daemon and me. Duncan’s face was set in a grim mask, though a flicker of pain crossed his features as his gaze met Elizabeth’s. She didn’t flinch, but her icy blue eyes narrowed, her lips curling into the faintest sneer. While I could just as easily adjudicate the proceedings, I was happy to let Daemon take control. “Elizabeth,” Daemon began, his voice cold and authoritative, “you

Lucienne’s Point of ViewThe office was finally quiet, but the silence felt heavy, almost suffocating. The weight of everything that had just unfolded lingered in the air, pressing down on me as I sat between Marc and Cole. Their presence was steadying, but my thoughts churned with the complexities of what lay ahead.Marc’s voice broke through the stillness, soft yet insistent. “Lucienne.” His hand reached out, his touch grounding me. “We need to talk about what’s next.”I shifted my gaze to his, his piercing blue eyes steady and filled with concern. “I know,” I said, my voice firm despite the turmoil inside me. “There’s no running from it now.”Cole leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees, his body coiled with protective tension. “We’ll protect you, Lucienne. No matter what happens, no one will touch you. Not Beatrice, not Elizabeth, not anyone.”I believed him. Truly, I did. His words resonated with the conviction I had come to trust. Offering them a faint smile, I let the s

Lucienne’s Point of ViewThe tension in the room was almost unbearable as Jeremy leaned back in his chair, the altered photo now replaced with its original. He had a big smile on his face as he cast his monitor to the office TV screen. The air crackled with barely restrained anger, the collective rage of the Alphas, my parents, and Marc and Cole’s father filling the space.Marc’s jaw clenched as he glared at the unaltered image displayed on the screen. “Beatrice,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.Cole was less composed, slamming his fist against the table. “She dared to drag Lucienne into this—to humiliate her like this?”My father, King Daemon, was simmering, his powerful presence looming as he folded his arms. “The sheer audacity. This was not only an attack on our family but also on the future Luna.”Queen Adriana, calm but no less furious, turned to Jeremy. “Post the original photo on all pack social channels. But—”“There’s no other choice,” she snapped. “If you stay here, you’ll be locked up in the cells before sunrise. And don’t think for a second that I’ll sacrifice myself to save you.”Her words stung. Some mother she was, but I knew she was right. “Where am I supposed to go?”Elizabeth sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as if speaking to me was an unbearable chore. “There’s a rogue named Rodney. He was an associate of your father before he… met his unfortunate end. Rodney owes me a favour. He’ll help you—for a price.”I stared at her, stunned. “You expect me to run to some rogue and beg for help?”“You don’t have a choice,” she said coldly. “Rodney can get you out of the pack’s territory and keep you hidden. I’ve stashed money in several places—enough for you to buy his silence if necessary.”Elizabeth scribbled down an address and handed it to me. “Go there. Take the money, find Rodney, and sta

Beatrice’s Point of ViewThe walls of my room felt like they were closing in. Michaela’s pacing grated on my nerves, but I couldn’t show it. Not now. I needed to stay calm, composed, and in control. Even though my heart was pounding and my palms were clammy, I refused to let her see how badly things were falling apart.“Stop pacing,” I snapped, my voice sharper this time. Michaela froze mid-step, her wild eyes locking onto mine.“Do you even realise how screwed we are?” she hissed, her hands gesturing wildly. “That tech guy—James… Jeremy or whatever his name is—he’s exposed everything, Beatrice. Everything! They know it was fake. And now they’re talking about us all over the pack! We’re finished!”I rolled my eyes, masking the unease twisting in my gut. My hands itched to wring something—anything—to release the tension coiling in my body. “They don’t know anything for certain,” I said, forcing my voice into the cool, detached tone that always worked to keep Michaela in check. “Rumours

Her hatred was like a quiet storm brewing just beneath the surface, held back by the thinnest veil of civility. Beatrice's Point of ViewSitting in the corner of the grand hall, I felt the familiar heat of resentment burning in my chest, twisting and coiling like a venomous serpent. The festivities for Marc and Cole's Alpha ascension were in full swing, an endless parade of opulence and celebration. Laughter echoed through the cavernous space, the clinking of glasses blending with the rustle of silken gowns and sharp suits. But amidst all the luxury and grandeur, my focus was drawn to one thing, and one thing only: her.Lucienne.What was so special about her? My jaw tightened as I watched her glide through the crowd with ridiculous grace. She wasn't even beautiful. Too tall, too muscled, too… intimidating. That wasn't what a Luna should be. A Luna should be soft, delicate, someone who brings a sense of calm—not someone who commands the room like a damn soldier. The very sight of her made my blood boil. Dressed in a gown that shimmered like moonlight, her presence was enough to draw every eye i
