*****One year later****

Moving through the trees, I moved back toward home. My wolf slowed just as we passed the last of the trees before the clearing of our home set in. Slowing even more, I came to a stop a few dozen yards away from the house. Laying in the grass, I watched as Owen moved through the gate for the tiny goat yard. I watched as he put food out for the goats. It was hard to believe it had been a full year—a year of peace.

For the first time in my life, since I was a kid, I actually felt like I was home. I didn't think living with the pack was something I would ever want to do.
