CHAPTER 48 - They meet again

ALTHOUGH Lucian swore to reinvent himself and stop his series of one-night stands, he still goes out for a drink sometimes with John and Vivian. However, tonight he was alone in the Boost Club.

He sat in the bar front staring at the football game that was being televised. All his concentration was on the game, and he did not notice when a woman sat beside him. Seeing that he was preoccupied, the woman then said in a low, alluring soft voice, "It’s been a while. How are you?" Her familiar voice caught his attention and he immediately glanced at the person beside him.

"Malena?" He says with coldness in his tone and gaze. "You’re looking at me as if I’m a stranger." She says while staring down and feeling aggrieved.

"What are you doing here?" He asks.

She slowly moves her hand to him, then says, "I want to talk to you."

He heaves deeply then closes his eyes, "Now is not the time, I want to be alone with my thoughts." He says with exhaustion in every word.
