Chapter 3 - The Twins

WEVZ WAS SO GRATEFUL that the room that Gia gave her was an attached bathroom. And once she was done taking a bath, she went outside the bathroom only to find out that her friend was lying on the bed and it seems that she is really waiting for her. 

Their agreement was, she will just take a bath and she will tell her the whole story why suddenly he thought that her cousin was stalking her. Oh! She really does not want to share it with her because she felt so ashamed of doing so but she does not have any choice. She knows how persistent Gia can get. 

“Now tell me. Tell me the whole story and the truth before I will introduce you to the helpers here in the mansion.” Gia told her.

She really does not have any choice. She made a face and sat on one side of the bed. And then she told her everything that happened a while back in detail. And when she finished, Gia laughed so loud. 

She rolled her eyes. “You are my friend right?”

“Yeah, that’s why I can laugh out loud in front of you.” She said while still laughing at her. “But, come to think of it. Normally Syke does not mind his surroundings. He simply does not care at all. I think you got his attention.” She said after laughing at her. 

“What are you thinking? He is married for God’s sake!” 

"Hmmm.... Oh! I was not able to tell you. His wife already passed away. Too bad, I was not able to meet her. I was not able to even attend their wedding.” 

Suddenly she does not know what to feel because of what Gia said. “Is that the reason why he doesn't even know how to smile?” She asked.

“Well, ever since Syke was already like that. When his father passed away, he already took over. He just graduated from college at that time. That’s why you can’t blame him. But Tita Emz told me that when Maridel came into his life, everything changed. He learned how to smile. Unfortunately, they were just almost one year married when his wife Maridel met with an accident which caused her death.”

The word sadness is not enough to describe what Wevz is feeling right now for Syke. It seems like his life was really tragic. Maybe that’s the reason why he doesn't even want to smile now.

“How many years has she been gone?” She asked. She doesn't know why she became interested in Syke's life story all of a sudden. 

“Five years. The twins were just almost one year old when that happened. That’s why I am just trying to understand him. My cousin is a kind man, it’s just that he does not know how to smile.” Said Gia.

“He really loves his wife so much if that’s the case. I saw that he is still wearing his wedding ring." She said sadly.

Wevz can’t tell if the reason for the sadness she is feeling right now was because of Syke’s love story or the fact that he really loves his wife so much. 

Gia nodded. “Yeah, he does not even have any interest in other women. Even though these women are literally dying just to get his attention. But you got his attention actually because of your opened zipper.” Gia said and giggled.

She rolled her eyes. “Crazy! Just shut up okay!” She exclaimed. But she can’t help but blushed whenever she remembers that.

“But you know, I am really thinking and bothered actually.” Gia said and by the looks of it it seems that she will not say anything good.

“Don’t say it! Just keep it----”

“You think he saw the color of your panty?” Gia interrupted her and laughed out loud once again.

“Gia!!!” She exclaimed and she knew that she was blushing. She tried to throw the pillows at her but her friend just kept on laughing.

GIA GATHERED ALL the helpers in the mansion. Wevz already expected that the helpers are kinda many because the mansion is so big. She was able to get to know Aling Bebeng and Manang Fe as two of the eldest helpers in the mansion. And then she met Lily, who is the same age as her and Gia. And then Gracia and Susan are younger than her. Manong June and Manong Allan are the drivers/gardeners of the mansion. And brother Rico and brother Ricky are the two security guards.

It really makes her happy because she felt really welcomed by them. She knew that she could easily get along with them. They were talking and joking like they knew each and everyone for a long time now. Few minutes later, Manong June told them that he would fetch the twins.

Because she really loves kids, she felt excited because of what Manong June said. “How long will it take for them to be in the house Gia?” She asked her friend without hiding the excitement in her voice.

“Around twenty minutes they will be here.” She replied.

And true to what Gia said, a few minutes later she saw the twins. They are one of the most beautiful sets of twins she has ever seen. The little boy really looks like his father. He has the same color of the eyes like his father, gray! And the little girl does not have any resemblance to her father but she is definitely beautiful, maybe she looks like her mother, Syke’s late wife. 

Though the girl is somehow familiar to her. Well, she had lots of encounters with children like them. There are lots of programs in Canada wherein she will really involve herself especially if it’s about children. 

Wevz saw the twins hug Gia immediately. Based on what she’s seeing they are close to her friend. And then she saw the little girl look at her. Her eyebrows furrowed. “Who is she?” She asked Gia.

She lowered down her body to level up with the beautiful little girl. “Hi baby girl, I am Wevz, I am Aunt Gia's friend from Canada.” She replied to her. 

She saw her eyes widened. And Wevz just realized that they do have the same color of the eyes, light brown.

"My name is Althea Dellupac Fontanilla. You can call me Thea." She introduced herself. "Do you have snow there?" The little girl asked with her eyes sparkling. And she found her cute. She can tell that this girl really loves snow.

"Yes, we have lots of snow actually." She nodded and smiled at her. 

She was a little bit shocked when the little girl hugged her. She was not expecting that that would be her reaction. That's why she was out of her balance causing her to sit on the floor.

"Oh! I'm so sorry." Said the little girl but she was still hugging her.

Wevz can’t explain it but she felt really happy. She laughed and hugged the little girl back.

"Hi, I'm Lorenzo Dellupac Fontanilla, you can call me Enzo. I love snow too, can I hug you as well?" 

Wevz looked at the handsome little boy  and smiled at him. Oh! He is so cute!

"Come here baby boy." She said and a few minutes later both of them were hugging her and she was hugging them back.

“Now, I really believe that you have your own charm when it comes to children.” Said Gia.

She just smiled at her friend and at the same time she felt like there was something that touched her heart.

SYKE DECIDED not to go where his children are during that time. He saw them when they arrived. He can’t believe that their visitor was able to get the attention of his children easily! She just answered one question from his daughter and it's just about snow and his children already hugged her on their first meet!

His children are not like this. Even his cousin Gia took one week for her to get along with the twins. And isn’t he having problems looking for a private tutor that will help the twins with their studies? Because after a one day trial, the tutors do not want to get back anymore. He knew that his children are doing something that’s why they don’t want to come back anymore. He was actually offering a good salary but still after they see the twins most of them don’t answer his calls anymore. 

He can’t expect Gia to always assist the twins with their studies because there are times that she has lots of workloads in the office as well. And he really appreciates her for helping him in running the company. 

Once again, he looked at them. It seems that Wevz doesn't mind sitting on the floor at all while Thea is hugging her. And moments later, Enzo was hugging him too. Anyone who can see them in that position may think that Wevz is the mother of the twins. 

Syke shook his head because of that thought. But what shocked him most was the way Wevz called his twins. There is only one person he can think of calling them baby boy at baby girl, only the love of his life.

Syke took a deep sigh. He just met this woman and she is really making his mind chaotic. And then he just simply touches his wedding ring while having that thought.
