Seventy Three

Jeez. I feel so hot.

I stood from the bed, opened the curtain of my room and stared down at the infinity pool in the yard of the house. I twisted my mouth to the side, wondering if I should go down or not.

What is the harm in that? Besides, Jaxton is not around.

I have been doing my utmost best to avoid him ever since we went down to the basement to talk to Sarah. Despite that, he has been on my mind a lot. He literally lived there rent free.

The other day that I had entered his office and was nearly caught, he had immediately gone to the pool after coming in. I had watched from my window, my body on fire. Every move of his hands, every twitch and clenching of his muscles had remained me of what it felt to be in those arms.

I had never envied water the way I did that day. Oh, how I had wished to be the droplets of water running down his chiseled chest and hard abs.
