Our eyes connect once she opens the door, her face has softened, and without a word, she pulls me close and hugs me.

I can’t believe what I just told her, what I just revealed. But I had to. I had to make her understand.

I wrap my arms around her, suddenly feeling lighter. It’s a moment of pure vulnerability, a moment of raw emotions. We stand there for what feels like an eternity, holding each other, savoring the warmth of each other’s embrace.

In that moment, I know I made the right decision, telling her everything. And I make a resolute promise to myself, that nothing will ever happen to her. If worst comes to worst, and maybe don orders to have her killed, I won’t do it.

I won't be able to bring myself to harm her, not after what we've shared, not after what I've felt. I'll protect her with every fiber of my being, even if it means going against Don's orders, even if it means risking my own life. I'll make sure she's safe, no matter what it takes.
