The silence in the courtroom was still deafening, I wanted the judge to repeat his words again, and just as though he read my mind, he did repeat his words.

The judge looked up, as though he wasn’t considering the faces of the people in the courtroom before putting out his verdicts. Derrick held my hand tightly and rubbed the back of my palms, it was very reassuring.

I checked Paulo, her face had all the fears or so I thought, Kimora was so restless and I know that just like me, she couldn’t wait to get justice served once and for all so that we can all be free and ready to leave our lives. With the way things were going in the courtroom, I was glad that I didn’t bring my kids to the courthouse.
