ELLA

"Dead?" I asked with a bitter laugh.

I couldn’t deny the harsh thump of my heart racing in my chest. I held my ground and met the witch’s eyes. "The only one who will be dead right now is you."

The witch threw her head back and laughed. It sounded like someone was dragging a fork on porcelain. She pulled her head back and gave me a wicked grin. "Let's see you try."

"Ella, run!" Sara screamed, her voice shrill with fear and panic.

I stared at the witch, my face a cold mask of anger.

"What will it be?" She asked, both arms raised in front of me.

She began to murmur an incantation, her hands glowing with a dark light. The air around us tinged with electricity, and I felt the hairs on my neck stand up.

Magic.

Without waiting to see what kind of spell she was spinning, I turned to Sara and began to claw at the bonds that held Sara to the tree.

I felt it, a subtle vibration that spread throughout my body.

I felt it when the spell hit me.

My body lurched forward, and I gritted my teeth

It felt warm and sticky — vile.I stepped out of the way, a growl rippling through my throat.I felt euphoric.A power I never had before surged through my veins. It was like the purest wine, intoxicating, red, alive. The voices praised me.‘Well done, Ella.’‘Embrace what you truly are.’"that was impressive!" A loud shout drew my attention away from the witch's corpse.Through the eyes of my wolf, everything looked diminished. The twins looked smaller.I was so used to them being bigger than me that this was a pleasing change."You're amazing!" Tristan yelled. ELLAMy foot couldn’t stop bouncing.I leaned forward in the plush armchair, my elbows planted firmly on my knees. All I could hear were the soft pings of the heart monitors, the low hum of the air conditioning, and the twins breathing in sync.According to Dr Carter, they had gotten better, and there was no need to hook them up to do many wires. When we arrived at the clinic, it had been a flurry of activity, with nurses and doctors running about and connecting tubes and wires to their bodies. They were better now, and all I wanted was for them to wake up. Dr Carter said it could be anytime soon.“Hey,” I heard Sara’s soft voice. She crouched beside me, her eyes full of concern as she gently touched my knee.“Hi,” I replied, a small smile on my lips.Sara’s arm had been bandaged. The wound was nasty, but according to Dr Carter, she wasn’t affected as much because of her al

ELLAThe gentle scent of my mates was enough to lull me to a peaceful sleep. In their embrace, nothing else mattered, and everything else melted away. The twins fell asleep almost immediately, too, and the room became silent, to the point that all I could hear was the rhythmic thuds of their heartbeat syncing up with mine and the cotton-soft breaths they took.As I drifted off, I thought about everything that had happened during the past few days. So much that I hadn't processed fully.I thought about all the things, especially the witch I had killed. I thought it would bother me, perhaps when the red haze of bloodlust had worn off, but I was wrong. I still didn’t care about it.I didn't know when I fell asleep till I woke up the next morning.I opened my eyes to numerous faces peering down at us.For a moment I laid there, frozen, blinking. There were the twins' parents, Adonis and Luna Hannah. All of them watched the th

ELLA"This should do," Dr Celia said. She raised the syringe full of blood into the air and inspected it closely."You sure you don't need more?"She laughed softly and shook her head. "No, this will do. You can go back now. The research will take quite a bit. Once it's ready, I'll give you a call."I hopped off the stool I was seated on. "Thank you."She turned to leave, then paused. "Later, will you be free for lunch with me?"I met her eyes and gave it a moment of thought. "Sure.""We can talk about your medical pursuits. Considering graduation is close by, have you been thinking much about it?""Um... honestly, I haven't." I sighed. I shoved my hands into the pockets of my jeans. With everything recently, school hadn’t been my top priority. "But I'm sure we can talk more about it over lunch.""Very well," She smiled. "Don't let me keep you waiting now."I waved goodbye and left the lab.*T

ELLA“I was not expecting to see all of you here." Dr Celia commented, her eyes scanning the five of us from top to bottom.I turned and looked at us.Naturally, the twins wanted to come with me. Sara wanted to, and I couldn't say no to her.I turned back to Dr Celia and flashed her a sheepish smile"We brought souvenirs?" I said."And we'll be out of your hair," Nathan said."We won't touch anything," Sara added. "You can trust us to be on our best behavior."Dr Celia shook her head and smiled. "I will hold you all to those words; do keep that in mind. Now, follow me, and kindly keep your hands to yourself."I turned and looked at my merry little party. "Let's go."We arrived in Seattle about an hour ago. The flight had been smooth, with no hitches. There was this palpable excitement in the air. ELLAWe walked out of the lab and into the cold night. My head still reeled from all I had witnessed in that lab, and there was silence over our small party. Everyone was lost in their thoughts."I'll be staying back," Sara announced.I turned to look at her. The cold made her cheeks and nose pink. Her hands stuffed tightly into the pocket of her wooly sweater."Why?" I asked. We had planned to leave Seattle that night and return to Alaska."Your words back there moved me a lot, Ella." She said, her breath formed puffs of steam in front of her. "And I couldn't help but think about those witches who tried to take you away from us, who tried to stop that miracle we saw in there from happening.""Are you going to muscle through their covens and fight them?" Nathan asked, facing Sara."No," Sara said with a forced chuckle. "That's not what I plan to do. I will stay back for the time being and gather information about them."

ELLA“In Alaska?!" My voice cut through the air. I clamped a hand over my mouth. I had just screamed in the middle of the night.I crept out of bed, careful not to wake either of the twins and went to the balcony. The cold night air nipped at my naked arms and made me shiver. But I bore with it. For the sake of this call, anyway."Yes. That's what I said." Sara said over the phone. Her voice sounded like she had been running. "I didn't think it could be possible, but it is.”I shivered and hugged myself. I glanced behind me at the room. Thankfully, the twins were still asleep. ELLA"Guys!" My voice rang out through the forest. "You should come take a look at this!"It was almost noon.We had explored the forest as much as we could. I was hot and exhausted and just wanted to leave this place already, not to mention the rampant bugs."What's it?" The twins asked at once. They ran to my side, and we all stared at whatever was before me."Woah," Nathan said. "That looks....""Ancient." Tristan completed. It was a temple or a cave, I didn't know.It didn't look like a natural formation, more like something hewn from a large black stone. There was a red wooden door etched with carvings of all manner of creatures—wolves, demons, birds, and humans—all in what looked like a giant depiction of some apocalyptic event.I took a step closer. It seemed harmless enough. I turned and looked at the twins."Let's check it out," Tristan said and took the lead.We got to the door.

Tea or coffee, perhaps?” She gestured to the hallway ahead, where the walls were painted a soft baby pink with motifs of flowers, rainbows, and stick figures playing in green fields. We walked down the hall side by side.“Water is good.”“I shall arrange for that.”We paused in front of a door. From the glass screen, I could see the kindergartens running about, smiling brightly as they chased one another

I'm trying to get dicked down right now!”Nathan and Tristan turned to me, eyes shiny with mirth. It had been a long day.The wedding after-party stretched into the night, long and packed with fun.And right now, I have a beautiful wedding ring on my finger, which matches my mates' rings, too.We had a joint shower and settled down to drain the Blackwood family cellar."You want to get dicked down?" Nathan asked, his brows wiggling suggestively as he approached me. He pulled me into his arms, and I shuddered just at that touch alone. "Mrs. Blackwood,""Oh, shut up," I laughed to myself. • Her Twin Alphas   Chapter 108 Defeating The Witches

ELLADr Celia was dead.We found her body and that of the witch who was controlling her outside of the altar, badly burned up.The altar itself was on fire, but the fire was going down as if being suppressed by an invisible hand.Magic was probably at play, we guessed so.Some of the saved werewolves offered to bury the dead.Even as I stared at the dead body of the witch who controlled and killed my mentor, I didn't feel any feeling of satisfaction that she was dead.I would have felt a million times better if I were the one to tear her apart bit by bit and leave her body parts for the vultures and crows to pick her bones clean."There's someone inside there," Tristan said as I watched the wolves dig a grave for Dr Celia.I turned to him. He and Tristan had gone to check the altar, but they didn't get as far as the door."There's a witch inside." Nathan said. "Just how many of them are they?""It's a coven." I said and turned to the altar. "There's a lot of them. And we're going to k

  • Her Twin Alphas   Chapter 107 Dr Celia. A Witch?

THIRD PERSON POVBeing under a witch's control was like being trapped in your head.Dr Celia didn't know exactly when she fell under the witch's control. All she remembered was waking up one morning and finding that her body wasn't in her control. She had woken up in the lab with no memories of getting there. She still had her consciousness, and the witch would sometimes let her take control for a few minutes or hours at a time, depending on what was needed.Celia did try to break free, or run, or alert someone of what was going on.But before she opened her mouth to speak, she would find herself slipped back to the darkest corner of her mind, and a strange presence would take control of her body. She hated it. Absolutely hated it.It went on for long months. An unspoken rule. "Keep your mouth shut at all times."The witch searched her brain, all her memories, the treasure robe of medieval knowledge and experience that she had. And the witch used them all to her advantage. Not only di

ELLA“What the fuck is that thing?" Tristan asked, his voice carrying the awe and surprise we all felt. The large circle was the size of a small football field. The land strips around it looked like they had been lynched of all life. The circle glowed a pulsing red, dark and ominous, like something from a horror movie."A circle," Wendy said, her voice shaky.I couldn't even speak."I can see that it's a fucking circle, Carter. But what exactly is it?!""We don't know," Nathan replied. "We don't fucking know."We had been able to save most of the werewolves who had been mind-controlled and injured.I couldn't shake off the feeling of something being wrong. Then we noticed a light in the distance, not far from the altar, and traced it to this weird circle."You've got to be fucking with me," Tristan said, his voice cold and angry."Oh my goodness." I gasped, my eyes going wide.Out of the circle werewolves, many of them coming out in their numbers. Their eyes glowed red, signifying tha

WENDY’S POVMy entire body screamed out in protest. The ache had settled deep in my bones, and each step I took worsened the pain.I felt lightheaded and on the verge of passing out.Vomit rose in my throat, and everything felt too bright and too loud.I was bleeding. Those idiot vines had thorns that cut into my skin. The cuts hissed in pain as my contaminated blood flowed out of it.My heart hurt like a banger.I was literally about to pass out on the cold forest floor. But seeing Ella's face above mine, her brows tight with concern, her lower lip between her teeth in a way she did when she was stressed, the smoke and burns all over her body when she had pulled me out of that fire — how could I pass out when my friend needed my help?"Wendy?” She tapped my chin. "Hey! Can you see me? Wendy!""I can," I groaned. “Thank you; I feel better now."I felt like shit. But at least I didn’t feel the burning of that disgusting wolfsbane in my body."Here," Ella extended her hand and helped me

I screamed out, my voice laced with horror. I rushed to her side.Wendy's head rolled to the side, and she looked at me.Her eyes were blood red, similar to the wolves who had been under the witch's mind control. She bared her fangs at me, growling in anger."I'll get you out of here!" I cried out. I grabbed the vines and pulled them. "Argh!" I stumbled back, my hand cradled in my lap.The vines cut into my palm, and blood dripped steadily down the cuts onto the floor. Those vines looked alive, moved, and sounded lik
