ELLA

Adonis and I hadn't spoken a word since leaving the forest.

He had pushed the wolf off me, and the wolf ran off.

I was in so much shock that I couldn't form any words or sentences.

When he carried me up to his car, I said nothing.

He told me he was going to take me to his home.

Home, he said. Not house.

Still, I kept mute.

Because what would I even say?

I had no home. I had no one.

It was either I followed him or stayed here in the forest. And the former sounded much better than the latter.

So I followed him.

The ride was quiet, and when we arrived at the house, he took me from the car to the front door.

There, he rang the doorbell, and the door opened to reveal a girl.

"Dad, who is that?!" The girl who opened the door asked, an accusatory look on her face.

She was dressed for bed in frilly pajamas, and her hair was put in curlers.

Her hazel eyes, full of hostility, stared at me, and instantly, I felt unwelcome.

"I can walk now," I whispered to Adonis.

My face bloomed bright red.

ELLAI woke up exhausted. For a few minutes, I was disoriented, not knowing where I was or how I had gotten there. It took a while for the pieces to all fit together.I remembered Adonis, the wolf, the drive to his house, and the girl who instantly hated me at first sight.I sighed and got out of bed.I went to the bathroom and freshened up, ready to go about my day. When I went down, I saw that the dining table was set for breakfast.Adonis was seated at the head of the table, and he beckoned for me to join them."You're still here?" Sara snapped the moment she laid eyes on me. She rolled her eyes and scoffed."Sara, that wasn't nice," Adonis said sternly. "Quit those jokes.""Sorry, Dad,” Sara sighed, looking anything but sorry."Ella, how are you this morning?" Adonis asked, a smile on his face as he stared at me. "Join us, and don't be shy."I wasn't shy, but whatever.I took a seat far away from Sara.A chef came out from the kitchen and served my food.A plate of toast, fried eg

ELLAAfter visiting the medical research facility with Dr. Celia, I returned to the city to find a job.For some strange reason, after my fruitless search, I found myself back at the cafe owned by Adonis. The staff recognized me and told me I was welcome to work here.Would it hurt to work here? No. I guess not.The pay was good, and the privileges were good too.So, after much internal deliberation, I took the job.I started work, and everything was going to hell already.Sara had become my tormentor. She would show up at the cafe every day and cause trouble for me.I didn't exactly blame her.I knew where she was coming from and why she was acting this way.She was angry. If I were in her shoes, I'd be angry too. Heck, I'd be pissed. If some girl who popped out of nowhere came and stole my dad from me, I would act worse than she was acting right now.So I told myself that I could put up with her, and, treading lightly, I took her childish troubles and petty dramas in stride.Today,

ELLA"Um..." I stuttered, my eyes wide with the sight that had transpired before me. The sound of the slap Adonis had given Sara echoed in my mind. "You shouldn’t have done that," I said softly.Adonis turned to me, his head tilting curiously.I didn’t like that he hit Sara because of me.I mean, I didn't need my father to show his love for me by hurting his other daughter."You should check on her," I said again."There's no need for that." He finally spoke, “She's an alpha's daughter. If she can't be as strong as you, that's on her."My jaw went slack. This was strange."You won't check on her?” I tried again, hoping that maybe he had tried to tell a bad joke and failed."No." He said firmly. He meant it. Totally. There was no persuading him. Wow."Well, I have to get back to work," I said, the awkward air between us worsening."Have a great day." He said. There was a

ELLA"Is everything okay, Ella?" Brenda, one of the girls who worked at the cafe with me, asked. When she offered me a sandwich during lunch break, I suspected she had something to say."Yes," I said with a soft smile. "Why wouldn't it be?""Well," She wrung her hands together in apprehension. "We've been really worried about you. And we wanted to know if everything is okay with you."My mind drifted back to the incident that had happened some time ago with Adonis and Sara.I shook my head and focused my gaze on Brenda. “I’m fine.”"Do you need some time off to sort stuff at home?" She persisted. She meant no harm; I know she did, but somehow, that statement triggered something inside me.I could handle myself just fine. I didn’t need anyone's pity, not even a sliver."No. I am not taking any time off. I won’t quit.” I said, more to myself than to her. "I'm fine.”"

ELLAThe first thing I noticed when I regained consciousness was the smell.I couldn't describe it well. One time, when I was younger, I messed with a bunch of my mom's scented candles and melted them all together. I tried making one big scented candle, and all I got was a strange smell. That's what the scent in this air was.It was like a lot of herbs and spices mixed together. It was somewhat unpleasant, but it was also somewhat lovely.I opened my eyes to a dimly lit room.My head lolled around my neck, my entire body felt weak, and there was a bittersweet taste at the back of my throat.Whatever taste that was and whatever this place was…well, it was very strange. There were many candles, but the room was still dim.I looked around and noticed that I was tied to a chair in the center of a white circle. There were tall shelves that reached to the ceilings, filled with books and what looked like small bot

Nathan asked."She's in Seattle at the moment. Be rest assured, Ella is being taken care of.""How do you know that?”"Do you think I would lie to you?"Nathan glanced at Tristan. "Thank you, Dr. Celia. Tristan put his phone back into his pocket and nodded."Yes. But that doesn’t mean we won’t get her back.""Of course. School holiday is in two days."Tristan grinned. "Yes. I mean, wasn’t it a bit early for this?Slowly, the memories began to return. The kidnap. The twins saving me...and last I remember they brought me to a hospital."You boys have overstayed your welcome here." I heard Adonis's sharp voice say. He sounded really annoyed as if trying to contain his anger. "It's time for you both to leave.""We're not going anywhere without Ella," Tristan said. "She's coming back with us, and we're going to complete the mate bond whether you like it or not.""She's going to be the Alpha of Stoneheart pack!" Adonis said, his tone raised. He quickly lowered his voice and continued. "Ella is my first child. She's the heir to my pack. The moment she awakens her wolf, she will take over the throne. If she bonds with you boys, heaven forbid, Stoneheart Pack would become a subsidiary of Blackwood Pack. I will not let that happen.

ELLATEN YEARS LATER“Welcome, Luna.” The small, bespectacled woman bowed with a smile. “The kids have been waiting. They can hardly sit still at the moment.”I favored her a warm smile. “That is to be expected of kids. You know how they are, young and full of so much energy.”Today, I was to spend some time with kindergarteners at the pack’s new daycare center.Little ones who had no idea at the moment that they weren’t humans, babies, in the sense of the word. She adjusted her horn-rimmed glasses and laughed softly. “Ah, yes. Right this way, please. Would you like anything to drink? Tea or coffee, perhaps?” She gestured to the hallway ahead, where the walls were painted a soft baby pink with motifs of flowers, rainbows, and stick figures playing in green fields. We walked down the hall side by side.“Water is good.”“I shall arrange for that.”We paused in front of a door. From the glass screen, I could see the kindergartens running about, smiling brightly as they chased one another

Nathan asked, his brows wiggling suggestively as he approached me. He pulled me into his arms, and I shuddered just at that touch alone. "Mrs. Blackwood,""Oh, shut up," I laughed to myself. It started small and soon blew out into a wild laugh. "I think Wendy spiked our drinks,""With what?" Tristan hugged me from behi

I tried to say something, but my nerves wouldn't let me form a coherent sentence. My hands balked into fists at my sides. My cheeks were tinged rogue, and it wasn't from blushing. I felt a million butterflies released in my belly.I was so fucking nervous! And I wanted to pee too."Hey, hey," Sara said softly. She grabbed both sides of my face and turned me to face her. • Her Twin Alphas   Chapter 108 Defeating The Witches

ELLADr Celia was dead.We found her body and that of the witch who was controlling her outside of the altar, badly burned up.The altar itself was on fire, but the fire was going down as if being suppressed by an invisible hand.Magic was probably at play, we guessed so.Some of the saved werewolves offered to bury the dead.Even as I stared at the dead body of the witch who controlled and killed my mentor, I didn't feel any feeling of satisfaction that she was dead.I would have felt a million times better if I were the one to tear her apart bit by bit and leave her body parts for the vultures and crows to pick her bones clean."There's someone inside there," Tristan said as I watched the wolves dig a grave for Dr Celia.I turned to him. He and Tristan had gone to check the altar, but they didn't get as far as the door."There's a witch inside." Nathan said. "Just how many of them are they?""It's a coven." I said and turned to the altar. "There's a lot of them. And we're going to k

Absolutely hated it.It went on for long months. An unspoken rule. "Keep your mouth shut at all times."The witch searched her brain, all her memories, the treasure robe of medieval knowledge and experience that she had. ELLA“What the fuck is that thing?" Tristan asked, his voice carrying the awe and surprise we all felt. The large circle was the size of a small football field. The land strips around it looked like they had been lynched of all life. The circle glowed a pulsing red, dark and ominous, like something from a horror movie."A circle," Wendy said, her voice shaky.I couldn't even speak."I can see that it's a fucking circle, Carter. But what exactly is it?!""We don't know," Nathan replied. "We don't fucking know."We had been able to save most of the werewolves who had been mind-controlled and injured.I couldn't shake off the feeling of something being wrong. Then we noticed a light in the distance, not far from the altar, and traced it to this weird circle."You've got to be fucking with me," Tristan said, his voice cold and angry."Oh my goodness." I gasped, my eyes going wide.Out of the circle werewolves, many of them coming out in their numbers. Their eyes glowed red, signifying tha

"Hey! Can you see me?
