Chapter 40

Aria

I woke up to Hunter's gentle caresses. I felt his light kisses from on the side of my neck traveling towards my cheek and the corner of my mouth.

A smile fought to become visible on my face and I moved closer to him, resting my hands on his chest and burying my face into his neck as I inhaled his scent. As always, he smelled heavenly.

"So you are awake," He spoke and pulled me even closer.

"Did you sleep well, baby?" he asked and rubbed the pad of his thumb over my waist.

"Yeah," I whispered, focusing more on taking in his scent rather than paying attention to his question and he was well aware of it.

If I was being completely honest, I had to admit that the feel of his bare body against mine even though I was covered by a shirt did feel like the most pleasurable thing in the world.

God certainly created Hunter to beat perfection.

"Your wound, is that hurting anymore?"

I shook my head in response and pressed my nose against the skin on his neck.
