"It's okay. I was 19." Tamera replied.
"Wow, at 37 you look good. I would have guessed 30, maybe 32." Lainey said.
"So no husband?" Lainey asked.
"No longer in the picture." Tamera responded.
"Run out on you as soon as the kids left the nest, did he?" Jake remarked.
"Last warning Jake!" Richard warned.
"Actually, as soon as they were settled in college, we had both decided to part ways. We only were together for the kids. He was a good provider and dad. We just didn't love each other. At least he wasn't like some of the husbands a few of my friends had. A man who was abusive and a horrible father figure. I've run into guys like that from time to time. If you will all excuse me, I've lost my appetite." Tamera replied.
Tamera leaves everyone shocked at the table. Then they all glared at Jake. He grins and drinks his drink. Everyone was still glaring at Jake several minutes after Tamera had left.
"You're an asshat!" Lainey yelled.
"Jake, you will apologize to her and keep your mouth shut!" Richard demanded.
"I'm good." Jake responded.
"We'll see what Dax has to say." Richard said.
"Tattletale, tattletale, hang your bitches on a nail." Jake replied.
"How childish." Jerry said.
"Look who you're talking to." Lainey told him.
Richard texted, "Sorry about Jake. He's a real pompous jerk."
"Don't worry about it. There's one in every bunch. Meet you in the room at 2pm right?" Tamera texted back.
"2pm." Richard responded.
That night it was hard for Tamera to sleep. She's so nervous about meeting Dax. She has had a crush on him since the first day the movie was released. She's terrified she will make a fool of herself.
Tamera thought to herself, "When I see him on TV my heart races, my stomach has butterflies, and I can feel my pulse race. How will it be in person?"
It's Saturday. Dax has just arrived and checked in. "Nice resort, why do I feel restless? After the week I've had I should be worn out." Dax thought.
Dax texted Richard. "I made it, all checked in and in my room."
"Great. Lunch at noon in the restaurant." Richard texted back.
"Okay." Dax responded.
"I need to talk to you before lunch. Your room in 15?" Richard asked.
"K." Dax responded.
15 minutes later Rich is in Dax's room.
"What's up?" Dax asked.
"Jake, being his usual jerk self." Richard replied.
"What did he do now?" Dax sighed.
Rich fills Dax in about dinner the night before. He also tells him about Tamera.
"I'll talk to him." Dax said.
"I really like this girl." Richard explained.
"Okay?" Dax said, confused.
"Well." Richard said.
"Just spit it out already." Dax replied.
"I don't want to compete with you for her." Richard explained.
"I've not even met her, why would you say that?" Dax said.
"She's your type. Smart, kind, loving, beautiful inside and out, but don't know it. And we always seem to compete for the same girl." Richard said.
"2 times, only 2 times has that happened and look how they turned out. The first one cheated and left, and the second was a psychopath." Dax said.
"Only because there haven't been any other women to get our attention. And I guess I should thank you, but Tamera is different." Richard told him.
"Well let's deal with Jake first." Dax said.
They go to Jake's room. He has some blonde-haired woman in his bed. They ask her to leave. Dax chews Jake out for his behavior and tells him he will apologize and be on his best behavior from now on. Tamera texts Rich that she won't be at lunch but will meet them at 2pm in the room. The caterer's driver was sick, so she had to drive into town for the pastries for later.
She gets back around 1:30pm and has minutes to get everything finished. The fridge is stocked with their favorite drinks. The pastries are out, the room is ready. Big sigh of relief. The crew started to arrive. They all compliment her on how nice the room is. Everyone is there but Rich and Dax.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" Jake asked.
"Sure, what can I do for you?" Tamera asked.
"I'd like to apologize for my behavior last night at dinner. It won't happen again." Jake apologized.
"Thank you for your apology. I accept." She said.
"I'm a little cynical when it comes to women, long story. And it sometimes makes me say things I shouldn't." Jake explained.
"I'll give you a little advice. We all think stuff like that from time to time, but the key is to know when not to say it out loud and when to keep it to yourself." She said.
"I agree." Jake responded.
"For example, last night I was thinking about what an entitled playboy you are and how the tabloids probably are 75% right about you, but I kept that to myself." Tamera explained.
She walked away. His mouth was open. Then he grinned to himself.
"Touché my dear." He grinned.
"Oh, I really like her." Lainey laughed.
Just then, Rich and Dax walk in.
"Omg, don't pass out, don't make a fool of yourself, I can do this. Heart racing, butterflies fluttering, he's even more gorgeous in person." Tamera thought.
"Omg." Her mind screamed.
"Omg freaking out inside." She thought.
"Tamera, I'd like you to meet Dax. Dax this is Tamera." Richard introduced them.
She holds out her hand and smiles. He takes it in his while his eyes never leave hers.
"So, I finally get to meet the woman behind all this? It's a real pleasure." Dax said.
"I'm a huge fan. You're my favorite character." She blurted.
"Omg did I really just blurt that out." She thought.
"Well, thank you. My fans are what makes my job worth while." Dax said.
Dax thought to himself. "Especially beautiful ones like you, sorry Rich, but she is mine."
"I love the show. Supernatural, werewolves, vampires are all my favorites to watch and read." Tamera said.
She realized he was still holding her hand. So, she pulls it back and he lets it go.
"Well, if there's anything anyone needs, just text me. The fridge is stocked and the pastries are on the table. Your dinner reservations are set for 7pm." Tamera said."Thanks. You will be joining us, of course?" Rich asked."Oh well, I hadn't planned on it." Tamera responded."I insist. Besides, everyone got to meet you and chat, and I didn't." Dax said."Okay. I can join you. All of you for dinner." Tamera said."Great darlin." Dax smiled."Omg, every time he says that in the movie, I about go crazy with desire. Hearing it in person sends a tingling sensation to my girl parts, I'm going to need new dry panties." Her mind kept on."See you at dinner." She smiled. Tamera quickly leaves and goes to her office."I can see I've already lost. I didn't get that much reaction from her." Richard responded."She's intoxicating and mine." Dax smiled."I figured as much. Just be careful. She's a special lady and your lifestyle is complicated where she's concerned." Richard explained."It's work
OMG, did he just say girlfriend? Tamera thought to herself. Dax scowls, pissed off at her ignoring Tamera. She blushes but comes back to take her order."And what would you like to order?" The Waitress asked."I'll take the steak and cheese sub with only tomato and mayo." Tamera answered."We have very tasty salads." The Waitress said while she looked pointedly up and down at her body.Tamera is embarrassed and shocked at her treatment."Let me.." Dax started to say."I am well aware of everything WE serve here. I gave you my order, and I'd also like a Dr.Pepper." Tamera said."Diet?" Waitress asked."No, regular. Now be a good little waitress and fetch our food for us." Tamera ordered.Dax is seething mad by this point. He couldn't believe the nerve of this waitress. She may be beautiful on the outside, but she's rotten on the inside."I hope you aren't letting what she said bother you." Dax said."I try to ignore shallow people. Karma is a bitch. What comes around goes around. She j
"Hi, how are you?" She asked."Hello, I'm good." Tamera responded."I just checked in. This is my first time here, and it looked like you know your way around." The random girl said."Yes. I'm Tamera. I actually work here." Tamera explained."I'm Mona. Wow, you're so lucky! What do you do?" Mona finally introduced herself."I'm the events' manager. I plan all the events for the resort." Tamera explained."Oh wow, this is fate! I'm here to check out the resort for my wedding!" Mona smiled."Wow, congrats on your pending wedding." Tamera congratulated her."Thank you! We've been family friends since we were 5. We dated in high school off and on. He needed to sew his wild oats, if you know what I mean. But he always comes back to me." Mona said."Wow, that's a lot of history." Tamera said."Yeah. We have tons of history. And it's hard for him. He's drop dead gorgeous and women throw themselves at him. He's a man. So I always forgive him. It's not his fault the tramps hound him." Mona sai
"It's just, well I was just wondering." Tamera hesitated."Wondering what?" Dax asked."We've been on many dates, I know it's just been a week, but." Tamera said."But?" Dax asked."Why haven't you kissed me? Do you just want to be friends?" She asked.Dax visibly relaxed. Then looks at her calm but serious."I haven't kissed you because I didn't want to rush you. I was afraid of going too fast and scaring you off." He explained."How would kissing scare me off?" She asked."Because I'm afraid kissing wouldn't be enough. I'm not sure if I could control myself to stop at just kissing." Dax explained."Oh." She said."But I want to try." He said."Okay." She whispered breathlessly.Dax cups her face and slowly leans in. His lips lightly touch hers, and it's like static electricity. She gasps, and he presses his lips into hers more. The kiss heats up quickly. Tamera's hands went around his neck, pulling his body closer to hers. His tongue seeks entrance to her mouth, and she gives it acc
They lay still enjoying their joined bodies, letting their breathing return to normal. After their breathing returned to normal, they got cleaned up and climbed back in bed. Dax wrapped his strong arms around her and very soon they both drifted off into sleep. Tamera awakes in Dax's arms. She thinks back on what happened last night and smiles."You're finally awake." Dax said."Shit, you scared me." She said.Dax laughed."How long have you been awake?" Tamera asked."Not too long. I was enjoying holding you in my arms." Dax said."Yes, this is very nice." Tamera said."It is." Dax said."I don't want to ruin this special moment, but when are you checking out?" She asked."Well, I wasn't quite ready to leave as there was this brunette who kind of caught my attention. So I extended my stay for another week." Dax said."So, we have one more week together? And then what?" She asked."I'm not sure, but I only live an hour away. So even when I check out, I can come for lunches and dinners
"Yes, but I can still drive over for lunch and dinner. And I'm hoping I can talk you into spending the weekends with me." He smiled."And maybe you can stay over with me some nights?" She asked."Thought you'd never ask, darling." He smiled.Tamera squeezes her thighs together when he calls her darling. It always sends tingles of desire through her body. Dax notices."You like it when I call you darling, don't you?" He asked."God yes. It ah... it makes me.. I feel..." she stammered, not sure how to explain it."It makes you horny for me?" He smiled."Not sure if that's how I'd describe it." She blushed."It's nothing to be ashamed of. I find it very hot that it turns you on. Darling." He smiled."Oh god, now you're going to drive me crazy." She blushed again."Only a fraction of how crazy you drive me." He said.On Friday afternoon, Dax and Tamera are returning to her office after lunch."I'm going to go pack my stuff and load my car. Then I'll be back here when you're done for the d
Dax left to take care of some stuff at home. He said he'd be back in time for dinner. At lunchtime Tamera decided to go to town as she needed to talk with the Bakery and the Florist about some upcoming events. Just before she got into town, her brakes quit working on her car.Since she couldn't stop, her car went over an embankment and hit a small ditch. Her head hit the steering wheel just as the airbag deployed. The airbag thrust her back into her seat just before she passed out. Not sure how long she was out, she finally came to as her cell phone was ringing. She was super cold and at least the bleeding on her forehead had stopped. Her face burned from the deployment of the airbag. When she moved, her ribs also ached. Her right knee felt sore and swollen, like maybe it had hit something. Honestly, she just felt achy all over. She reached for her cell phone. "I need help, I crashed my car.""OMG! Where? I'll send Michael right now!" Sheila cried."I'm just before town, the last curv
"The woman you met in the gym is the daughter of a family friend. Her father and mine grew up together, then created their own business. They had wanted us to marry to join the two ah, businesses. But I said no. I never liked her, at all." He explained."So, basically she wants you, but you don't want her. Did you ever sleep with her?" Tamera asked. "No! Never. I've never had any feelings towards her. I never led her on. I've told her for years that I did not want her and that I would never marry her." He explained."So, she went after me because you like me?" Tamera asked."Yes. And I'm sorry I brought her into your life. But I promise I will not let her harm you." Dax assured her."You think it was her that cut my brakes?" She asked."Yes." He confirmed."Has she harmed others before me?" She questioned."Well, yes and no. There have only been two other relationships. One cheated on me, although now years later I wonder if it wasn't a set-up. And the second one I thought was a psyc
