We were cycling across town, and I was currently loving every bit of it; it is a good experience to feel the wind in your face. Our first stop was at a local store in town, and he found a good spot and packed.

I had a hard time getting down from the bicycle because of my dress, but I was able to make it work, and I got down. I glanced around the place; I don't really travel to this part of town, and I was slightly out of place. I was the only one wearing a fancy dress; I even had makeup on.

Everyone was wearing something simple, and some even had flip flops on. I hope this isn't where we are going on our date, because I think Vincent would be the first mate to be walked out on while on a date. The only saving grace was that it was dark.

I swore—in my mind, of course. He should have informed me of the venue before inviting me out. Note to self: always ask for the venue before going on a date. A hand on my helmet disrupted my thought; I had even forgotten I had it on. I stood still while he removed my helmet, and his stormy grey eyes were staring at me.

"You look beautiful." He whispered, and the most surprising thing happened. I blushed.

You heard it right: I, Alpha Jasmine, blush. I felt wet lips pressing on my cheeks, but they were gone before I could process them. "Shall we?" He asked before taking my hands and leading me inside while I was still stunned.

I followed him blindly, still lost for words. He had kissed me, even though it was just a peck on my cheek. A kiss was still a kiss. While I was ruminating on my first kiss—by a non-family member—he was moving around the store, grabbing things we could need for... I had no idea.

That day, I learned that my mate could be very meticulous. He was going over each item carefully, reading out its ingredients to make sure it was okay with me. He also made sure they weren't past their expiration date and that they were actually safe to consume. I must admit, I found it cute that he cared about such things. I guess he forgot we were werewolves and that we don’t have allergies or get food poisoning.

He finished grabbing all he needed, and I let out a sigh of relief. Finally. We could go back to his house and eat them, because that was the only logical reason I could think of.

We climbed on to the bicycle, and he started cycling back, but it wasn't towards the pack. It was going in another direction, and a little part of me began to feel worried. He stopped his bicycle a few meters from where people were, and we got down and began to trek.

As we ventured further, I began to see people, mostly couples, lying on the floor on a picnic mat, and all their focus was on the big screen in front. Judging from what I saw, I guess it was a cinema.

We got a nice spot that was a little far from others, and I actually like it. Our kind have great eyesight, so I didn't have to worry about not seeing the screen. He removed a mat from the bundle he had been carrying and laid it on the floor.

I sat down on my mat and watched as he arranged all the items he had bought on the floor. He neatly arranged the plate of fish and chips, bowls of ice cream, and cookies. I was already salivating when I saw the cookies. I had a sweet tooth, and it didn't help that it was my favorite—chocolate.

He chuckled as he saw me eyeing the cookie, and he handed one to me. "You can eat as you want. They are for us." I nodded my thanks and tore open the pack. I grabbed a piece and munched on it, moaning as the crunchy and creamy goddess filled my mouth.

I heard a low rumble beside me, and I turned to look at the owner. Vincent’s eyes were on me, stripping me bare with his gaze, and I suddenly forgot how to swallow food. The electricity between us was enough to power a house, and I found myself leaning unconsciously toward the source.

We were just a breath away from each other; if I leaned close enough, our lips would meet. I watched eerily as his mouth parted to exhale, and I bit my lips. Before I could react any further, he closed the distance and connected his lips to mine.

And he kissed me.

His lips were warm and soft, and his scent was overwhelming me and making my head spin. The butterflies were doing their happy dance in my stomach, and his warmth consumed me as I leaned into the kiss. Vincent’s lips felt impossibly soft against my own, and they parted slightly, allowing my tongue to slip inside.

My hands reached out and grabbed onto his neck to stabilize me, and his hands slipped from my neck, his fingers gripping my hair. And I moaned at the pressure, and he responded with a groan of his own before delving into my lips again.

His hand crept to my waist, and his chest was pressed against mine; they were like warm embers, igniting a fire from within me. Finally, he pulled away slowly, and I groaned softly as I kept my eyes clenched shut for a moment afterward, not wanting to wake up from this dream he’d brought to life and savoring the moment.

The last thing I wanted was for him to pull away, but sadly, all good things must come to an end, and his hands let go of my waist. Time stopped as I struggled to come to terms with this dizzying, swaying world. How could I have missed out all this time?

I opened my eyes, and his stormy gray eyes were looking at me, the love evident in them. I cleared my throat, trying to distract him, and thankfully, he got the drill. He went back to arranging the food while I tried to catch my breath.

Holy fuck, that was hot! I tried to use my hands to fan myself.

I went back to munching my cookies while I ate the ice cream. I don't know who told him I love chocolate, because all the ice cream tubs were filled with chocolate.

"Alright, all set and done." He said as he finished laying out all the food. He handed me a plate that contained fish and chips with a side of burger. "Dig in." I received it with thanks and watched as he made a similar plate for himself.

He settled down beside me, his body in close contact with mine, and started eating. "Hmm." He moaned as he bit into his burger, and the sound he was making shot up to my body. "This is so good." He pointed to the burger, and I nodded. It was really good. "The movie is starting." He pointed out, and I followed his hands to the big screen he was pointing at.

And true to his words, the large screen came alive, its light making the whole place bright, and I could see couples huddled together, smooching, and just generally being lovey-dovey.

I glanced at the man beside me; his jaw was working the food into bits and his gaze was fixed entirely on the screen. Now looking closely, I could see that he had no beard, and his chin was smooth, giving him that cute appearance.

I was tempted to lean closer and cuddle into his side, but I didn't want to seem forward. I sat still and focused on the appetizing burger in my hand. I startled as his arm drew me close, tucking me into his side. I looked at him sharply, and he smiled before continuing to watch the movie.

I settled in well before I also fixed my gaze on the movie. It was a poor adaptation of a high school romance movie. Honestly, it was dumb and way predictable, but Vincent seems to enjoy it, so I had to play along. I wasn't going to ruin this moment.

Besides, hearing his giggle whenever a funny scene played out was like music to my ears. I got tired of the movie and decided to turn my attention to my mate. If he noticed me staring at him, he didn't say anything. He simply cuddled me closer, his eyes never leaving the screen.

I watched him, taking note of the way his brows shot up when there was tension or the way he would cease breathing when there was suspense. He was amusing to watch, and he looked beautiful under the moonlight.

Feeling happy and content with the way things were, I leaned on his shoulder and decided to occupy myself with the movie. He brought out a blanket as the air began to feel chilly and draped it around us.

"You can sleep if you want to; I will watch over you." He whispered in my ear, and I shivered as his words sent a spark through my body. I didn't need further permission; I laid my head on his thigh and dozed off, enveloped in his scent. It was a short sleep, but the most peaceful I had ever had.

I could feel eyes boring into my skin, and I didn't need a soothsayer to know that it was my mate. I tried to hold my breath as long as possible, wanting to see what he would do. I felt his hands on my face, placing a feathering touch on me.

I felt his breath on my face before his lips came crashing down on my lips. He was going to leave, but I couldn't let this opportunity go.

I grabbed his hair to hold him still, and I kissed him.

Sannelle

Wow(fan self) that was some kiss. I think she may be falling for Vincent, or what do you think? As usual, don't forget to forget and leave a comment. Sannelle.

After the kiss, I was pretty much awake, and I sat up while we continued eating and watching the movie. At some point, I became totally invested in the movie. And it was all his fault. Some couples began to leave even before the movie ended, and finally, around 12 a.m., the movie finally came to a close. When I looked at all the food we brought, we had already cleared the plates—no surprise there. I was finding it difficult to concentrate on my work, despite the amazing time I had with my mate, but a thought kept plaguing my mind. I had offended my brother greatly, and I needed to apologize before it was too late.I must admit, I was guilty of everything he was accusing me of. I didn’t even think to tell him, even though I knew he would be happy for me. I think deep down in my mind, I was afraid to tell him, because he was yet to get a mate and I didn’t want him to feel bad. Liam only knew of my mate because he was with me when I first met him. With these thoughts plaguing my mind, I could only manage to finish a little portion of my work. The guilt was overwhelming me, and I needed to do something fast. With heavy steps, I made my way upstairs to his room. While I was staying in the Alpha’s quarter, he was in the room above mine. I could remember when I first got to the position and was asked to change rooms. I felt so guilty because I would be leaving him for a better place.

I sat down beside my dad, feeling safe and secure as I became enveloped by his scent."I don't think it is wise to keep standing there like a soldier, honey. Go sit down beside your mate or on any free sofa. Make yourself comfortable; we wouldn't eat you." My mom said to Vincent as she saw that he was still standing. He nodded and was already heading to the nearest chair before my dad decided to ruin everything. "I don't know about you, but he may just be dinner." Vincent froze momentarily; his foot was left hanging in the air as he was about to take a step forward. It was a struggle to control my laughter when I looked at him. His eyes were darting from left to right, and beads of sweat started forming on his forehead. "Richard." My mom warned just as she chucked a pillow at his head, which he dodged effortlessly, of course. "Don't scare him into running away. He is our daughter's mate.""It is a harmless joke, baby; I mean, it is a very obvious joke. Isn't that right, Vincent?""Uh.

We stayed with my parents till later in the day. We were pretty much resting in the living room when my family decided that it was going to be "operation embarrass the hell out of Jasmine." They decided to tell my mate every embarrassing thing I had ever done as a teenager, and I have done a lot.I didn’t mind, though. I think they were trying to desensitize him to the fact that even though I am an alpha, I still make mistakes and am not 100% perfect. It will be better if he sees me as a partner and not his superior. We left home that day with filled stomachs and happy faces. Although we were a bit tipsy, we dragged our drunken asses back home, but I didn’t go straight back to my room. We took a decoy and went towards the pack’s lake. I suddenly had an idea to run in our wolf form, and he agreed. We were hand-in-hand as we walked the bushy part. We were a panting mess as we came down from our high. That was easily one of the best things I have ever experienced in my life. I was smiling so much that my cheeks were beginning to hurt. "Did you..." I trailed off, hoping he would get what I was trying to say. He was smiling, his pearly whites still visible in the dim light. "You know... did you?" I gestured, hoping he understood what I was saying. I don't know if it was appropriate to ask him that question."Yes Jasmine. I came. You can say it out, you know." I flushed from my roots, ducking my head into his chest. Why was I behaving like a virgin?"Maybe because you are actually one." Smart ass Maya replied, and I rolled my eyes—how convenient that she chose to appear now. I threw her to the bottom of my mind and tried to focus on my mate.I looked down, and I could see that there was a small wet patch on his crotch area. He actually came. I felt a little pride in the fact that I could actually make a man cum without necessarily

They all gathered in my sitting room, taking up all the space in the apartment. I managed to find a spot beside my aunt Jessi, and I sat there. "So what are your plans for today?" She asked me as I sat down.I shook my head in the negative. I had nothing planned out for the day; I was just going to wait for the ceremony: "Are you ready to be mated?" My mom asked me, the excitement evident in her voice. From the way she was very excited, people will begin to think she was the one to be mated."I think I am. It has been long overdue," although not as long as my parents', or so I heard. Their relationship started out very rocky, and it is still a sore subject to talk about."We came hearing gifts for the newly to be mates." My uncle said before he handled me a little box."Thanks uncle." I kept it on the table, promising to check it out after they had gone.He stood up, towering over us. With three people dressing me up, I was done in no time. My mom finished applying the setting spray to my face; she wanted the makeup to be as light as possible so it wouldn't be totally different from my natural face. not that I even needed makeup to begin with. They were through with the makeup and hair. My mom had loosened those two braids I usually wear. She must be so happy she got to loosen them, because she had always complained about them, but I couldn't care less; they were practical, easy to braid and loosen, and it saves time. And the last reason was that I really loved it. I can't waste all my time on self-care when I've got work to do.My aunt helped me tie an anklet on my legs; I was to be barefoot for the mating ceremony, so she said it would make my feet look enticing in case he had a foot fetish. Lucas was able to get me to see reasons why we should merge the pack, and I agree. I had already relayed the information to the pack. At first, they were sceptical about it, not knowing how to behave towards these new intruders. But as words passed around and the date kept drawing near, the excitement began to increase. Everyone had an individual reason for being happy. The nurses and warriors who had been previously sent to the other pack during the exchange were very excited about the news. They could finally see their families without having to get permission to go across the border. While the pack was excited about the possibilities and exposure I would bring. Imagine two powerful packs merging to become one; we would easily become the most powerful and unstoppable pack on the continent, rivaling even the best pack on the continent. I was happy for all those things, but nothing could be compared to the fact that I would get to spend every waking moment with my mate. I was ove

I blinked my eyes, trying to get used to the bright light that was streaming from the window blind. I successfully opened my eyes after several tries and was greeted by the dull painting of my room.I groaned on the bed, feeling my head alight with pain. Something was different, but I couldn't exactly pinpoint what it was. But everything was just different.Maybe it was the way Lucas' scent was saturated in the room; it literally filled everywhere, like he had been staying here all day.I rolled across the bed till I got to the edge, and I placed my legs gingerly on the floor. I tested their strength to see if they could support me, and they could.I stood up slowly and made my way to the bathroom to relieve myself. I washed my hands after I had done my business. From there, I proceeded to wash my face, and I padded out of the room after I was through, back to my room.Someone, whom I assumed was Lucas, had changed me into shorts and a shirt. Just then, my stomach rumbled, and I looke

I didn't know where the man had come from, but he had run up to me and collided with me. The impact was forceful enough to make me stumble all across the floor, and I was lucky I did.Because, just then, the man exploded into bits and pieces beside me, spraying us with his innards. Then everything was pure chaos.Someone screamed behind me, and I suspected it was one of the warriors. I could hear someone running beside me. There was a high-pitched noise ringing in my ears, and it continued, the bell refusing to stop.I could feel my body leaving me, and it was like I was floating in midair from all the chaos. The ringing began to gradually subside, and in that state, I realised that there was a girl who was also at risk of exploding."She can't be away from him; she would blow up. She can't be away from him; she would blow up." I kept murmuring the phrase like a broken toy. It was a way to keep me in touch with reality."Alpha, are you okay?" A cute face peered down at me, worry lines

Under the guidance of Lucas, we were able to safely scale the landmine. And it wasn't until everyone had a good metre passed it and were safe that my breathing finally went back to normal. The fact that someone close to me also had a near-death experience was enough to sober anyone, and we all moved quietly as we walked deeper into the forest. The air was getting stale as we ventured in, and at a point, the hair on my body stood stiff, as if it could tell the danger lurking behind. The sunlight filtered through the towering trees, casting eerie shadows on the forest floor. Everyone was quietly walking forward, and it added to the eerie feeling.I tightened the grip on the hilt of my dagger and took a deep breath, summoning courage. While praying for the goddess to help me.The air grew colder as we ventured further into the heart of the forest, and the sound of nature was slowly fading away, replaced by an unnerving silence.I winced as my shoe got caught on a metal piece, and Lucas t

We have been running for so long that I have lost count of the hours. The adrenaline that had been fueling me was gradually depleting, and I was already getting tired. But I still continued urging on; it also helped that Lucas was beside me, motivating me in his own way. He was running behind me, and anytime my speed was declining, I would feel his cold nose on my rump pushing me forward. That really helped because we were able to cross the border of a pack, and we were currently in another one. I had already gotten permission from the alphas of the pack we would be passing through; it was considered folly not to do so. I also beseeched them for their help, and they were happy to lend their support in their own way.I looked ahead of me and saw that the sun was glistening on a surface, which was no doubt a body of water. I gathered momentum, my legs suddenly becoming alive and kicking forward as I saw the lake. The sun had been scorching down on us in all its ferocity, barely sparing

I could see the silhouette of a man fast approaching where we were standing, and I was instantly on high alert. My hands reached back automatically to the back of my jeans, and I removed an object, craftily hiding it behind me. I had hidden weapons all over my body, and I was currently holding a steel blade that had been so well sharpened that it could cut through anything.I had very good throwing skills, coupled with good hand-eye coordination, so should the person pose a threat to me, I would have the blade firmly lodged in his neck before he could move further, so perfectly that he would be unable to breathe freely. The silhoutte was getting closer, and with it was the scent. That sweet, enticing scent that could only belong to one person wafted to where I was, and I was sniffing it like a dog, wanting more from where it came. The man behind the alluring scent came out of the shadow, his sharp features clearly visible in the dark, and I was holding my breath.Just his presence alo

Maya was urging me to ask my mom about the voice recording because she felt she would have opinions about it. According to her, Kiayra told her that she would know about it. Kiayra was my mother's wolf and had been with her since she shifted. So if there was anyone who would know these things, it was definitely Kiayra. So I listened to her, and I was sending my mother the voice recording. The parents were currently out of town because they went to pay a visit to my aunt. And yeah, my dad is aware of everything that has been going on; he only called to ask me if I was okay and if I ever needed help from him. My dad is a firm believer in letting people do what they want, as long as they are not doing the wrong thing. He said I was the alpha now, and the pack was mine. It was my decision to run it however I wanted to run it, as long as I didn't ruin it. Many people may not agree with that sort of reasoning, but it has helped me grow into a strong, independent woman. But I do believe I am

I groaned as the loud ringing disrupted my sleep. Will there ever be a day where I get 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep? In another world, it may have been possible, but in this present world, I very much doubt that.I took a deep breath to calm myself before I lost it. "Patience, Jasmine, patience. It may just be important." Maya prodded me on, and I sighed as I picked up the device."Hello." I spoke into the receiver. Beside me, Lucas stirred as he heard my voice, and his eyelashes fluttered as he tried to open them, making me swoon because Lucas was always handsome on a regular day, but he was breathtaking when he was sleepy and a little cute."Alpha, help us." A voice whispered panic on the phone, and immediately I was up, every atom of sleep gone from my eyes. Lucas also stirred beside me and sat upright.I heard that voice; it was the woman's bratty daughter that was missing. "Suzy? Is that you?" Lucas' ears perked up as he heard the name. I had informed him of the missing person,

The day was still young, and although the sun was still shining its bright light on us, I was drained and stressed out. I have been wrung out to the point that the only thing that could remedy it was quality rest. And that was what I was going to get now.I looked down at our jointed hands as we walked down the path to the pack house. I could feel curious eyes on us, but I could care less. I was happy that we didn't have to keep hiding the fact that we were mates. We had gotten up to the huge double mahogany door that stood tall and unyielding, and I was going to take another step forward when a thought flashed through my mind and I remembered that he wasn't living in this pack and may likely have somewhere to be. "Don't you have somewhere to be?" I asked, gently stroking the hairs at the back of his palm."Uh?" He raised his eyebrows, looking at me all confused."Your pack." I provided.
