Moving forward

She was speaking the truth. That much I was sure about, having used my powers on her. But I had no idea how true she really was speaking. Over the last five days, we have had nightly shadow attacks - although they have not been as successful as the enemy would want them. We were ready for them the first night, and some of them walked right into the traps our pack members had set up. Elijah cursed the fact he forgot to ask her where Conan had his base of operations, but it seemed he didn’t have to. Dad told us that night at dinner, that his old pack had gotten a new Alpha. Something he had not gotten the chance to tell us yet. He and Alex relayed how they were in contract with different pack members, and how they wanted out, but they couldn’t risk it.

I looked at Elijah that night, both of us thinking the same.

“Well, how about we help them out?” I said, and my brother actually looked at me like I’ve grown two heads.
