The maid dressed Isabel in silence, styling her hair into a bun. “You look beautiful, my princess,” she complimented. “Thanks, dear,” Isabel replied.

The staff adored Isabel for her kindness, whereas they disliked Aura, who often spoke harshly to them. In hushed tones, they wished the crown prince would never marry Aura.

Ten minutes later, Isabel entered with Prince Karl, his arm possessively around her waist. Seeing this, Prince Khalid was infuriated. They greeted the king and took their seats. Aura, seated next to Prince Khalid, felt a pang of jealousy as she observed the chemistry between the couple. “Good morning, Prince Karl,” she greeted, deliberately ignoring Isabel. Prince Karl, in response, acted as if she didn’t exist.

Aura felt embarrassed. Why does Isabel always have the best of everything? She thought she had bested her, only to see her with the most handsome and wealthy man in the kingdom, who clearly adored her. Everyone knew Prince Karl’s net worth was higher than the

Jules sipped his tea, his eyes lighting up at the sight of Prince Karl entering the restaurant, which was immediately evacuated for the safety of his best friend. Jules was a childhood friend of Prince Karl and also his personal pilot. They had shared an unbreakable bond since they were little and were even closer than brothers. That’s why Prince Karl had persuaded his mother to let Jules become a pilot when he sensed that his life was in danger some years back. Jules not only flew him but also managed his airline on his behalf. “Here comes the wife snatcher,” Jules said, opening his arms for a hug. Prince Karl scoffed and embraced him. “Why would I steal her? I was simply saving her from humiliation,” he grumbled. “Though I am beginning to regret it.” “So, since when did you become the knight in shining armor that saves the damsel in distress? Last I checked, you disliked her, or were you pretending all this while?” “I still hate her, but I hate my brother more.” “So you’re doin

“Welcome, Your Highness. My name is Eunice. I am the housekeeper of this resort,” a middle-aged woman dressed in a corporate suit approached Isabel and smiled warmly. “It’s nice meeting you, ma’am. Please call me Isabel.” “Nice meeting you too, Your Highness. Sorry, but I won’t be able to address you by your name. His Highness, my boss and the owner of this resort, frowns upon that,” Eunice said as she ushered Isabel into her room. “Will I be sharing a room with His Highness?” Isabel asked as they entered the large room, which looked like a master suite. She hoped they would stay in separate rooms, as she did not want to be embarrassed by him again. “I am not sure. His Highness’s room is in the south wing, and that’s where he went.” “Thank God,” Isabel sighed in relief. “I will leave you now, Your Highness. If you need anything, please ring the kitchen. Breakfast will be ready soon.” After Eunice left, Isabel took her time to look around her room. It was even more magnificent c

It was late at night, and Aura rolled on the bed, stretching out her hand, only to realize that Prince Khalid was not beside her. She sat up, surprised and confused. She had spent the whole day with the prince. She had even been naked in front of him, yet he hadn’t been aroused. He always seemed lost in thought. She had to scream at him several times just to get his attention. Something was wrong. Why was her man acting this way? Isabel and Prince Karl were not in the palace, so there were no distractions—yet his heart still seemed distant. She had tried everything to bring his mind back to her, but all her efforts had been in vain. Aura went to the balcony, only to find him sitting outside with a bottle of whiskey. “What’s troubling you, my love? You’ve been like this all day. You haven’t even noticed me like you used to,” she said softly. “Please, I just want to be left alone,” the prince grumbled. “But you can’t—” “I said leave,” he ordered. Aura immediately left his presen

It had been an adventurous week. Isabel had gone sightseeing, mountain climbing, and taken endless walks on the beach. The icing on the cake for her was that she hadn’t seen Prince Karl all week. Madam Eunice had mentioned that he was busy with the President of Malaysia. Isabel didn’t care about that—as long as he was out of her space, she was fine with it. Prince Karl was a hardworking man. He didn’t rely solely on his royal inheritance; he worked tirelessly to build his own empire. He had spent the past week closing a deal with the President of Malaysia so his airline could begin operations in the country, and the negotiations had been successful. Every elite entity in the world wanted to do business with him—he was a business magnate. As soon as the deal was finalized, he rushed back to his island, refusing to attend the dinner party the president had arranged in honor of their new partnership.Prince Karl thought of Isabel. He hadn’t seen her in days, and although he refused to a

Isabel stormed out of the room as if her life depended on it. As soon as she came out, Madam Eunice called to her, “Ma’am, there’s a call for your highness, he left his phone sun the sitting room ”“And who could that be?” she asked in irritation as she took the phone from Eunice.“Hello? Isabella speaking…”“My beautiful daughter… I am so glad to hear your voice. I’ve been trying to reach you to no avail, so I had to call your husband.”Isabella’s emotions melted immediately at the sound of her father’s voice.“I’ve missed you too, Dad. And you don’t need to worry — I’m doing very well with Karl,” she assured him.“Hope he’s treating you well? Does he love you?” her dad asked, not hiding the anxiety in his voice.“Dad, Karl is a good man, and I’m happy to be married to him. He treats me very well and would never hurt me like his brother did.”Hearing herself speak well of her husband made her smile ironically, because she knew she and Prince Karl couldn’t stand each other. But that d

Isabella leaned against the cool wall outside the art room, her chest heaving. The weight of what she had just seen—and what she had felt—settled over her like a heavy cloak. “Caramel”The name echoed in her mind, louder now than ever. The resemblance between herself and the woman in those portraits was no coincidence. She could feel it in her bones. Who was she? A former lover? A ghost from Karl’s past? Or something even stranger? She walked back to her room, each step echoing with the tension still vibrating in her body. As she shut the door behind her, she pressed her forehead against the wood. She needed answers, but Prince Karl wasn’t exactly the most approachable man in the world—not when he was shouting or throwing her out of rooms. Later that evening, dinner was served in her room again. She had no appetite, pushing the food around her plate. Her mind was consumed by those hauntingly beautiful paintings. The eyes of that woman—Caramel—still stared at her even when she close

Father, you have to listen to me. I just want to check on my brother—it’s been a week, and we haven’t heard from him.”“Khalid, you’ve been far too distracted these days. I need you to focus on your duties here in the kingdom. Besides, we both know you’re only going after Isabella.”The King muttered this as he walked into his study, with Khalid tagging along behind him.“Isabella is no longer yours. You have to get over this. She belongs to your brother now—thanks to you—and it can’t be reversed. Just let it go.”But Khalid wasn’t ready to let it go. “I know, Father. I sincerely just want to check on my brother.”“Fine, you can go—but be warned. If I hear of any trouble, you will lose your title.” The King’s voice was stern. Khalid bowed, a sly smile tugging at the corner of his lips.⸻Meanwhile, Aura was in the royal treasury, admiring the beautiful jewelry and the crown once worn by the late Queen—the boys’ mother.“One day, I’ll be the one wearing this crown. Not Isabella,” she w

The sheer audacity of Isabella—gliding around like she owned the place, glowing like a goddess, while she, Aura, was being treated like some afterthought. She marched to the mirror, her eyes burning with rage. Without hesitation, she stripped off what was left of her tight-fitting dress, the fabric pooling at her feet.“She thinks she’s won,” she hissed under her breath, slipping into a thin, barely-there silk robe that clung to her curves like a lover’s touch. “But this is far from over.”Just then, she felt strong arms wrap around her waist. Prince Khalid pulled her against his chest, his hands smoothing along her hips as he tried to calm her with gentle kisses to her neck. But Aura wasn’t in the mood for tenderness. She jerked out of his hold, spinning around.“Why did you let your brother speak to you like that?” she snapped. “Why didn’t you put him in

“What do we do now? Oh my God…”Tears started to stream down Isabella’s cheeks as she flopped onto the edge of the bed. Right now, all she wanted was to be with her father—cry in his arms until she fell asleep. All her life, she had dreamed of marrying into a royal family. Now that it was her reality, all she felt was constant pain and humiliation—from the media, from everyone in England. It was like they hated her.“Don’t cry, Princess,” Karl whispered, unable to stop himself from wrapping his arms around her, letting her cry as he stroked her hair softly.“I’m so sorry… I shouldn’t have gone to the masquerade club that night.”“It’s okay.”“No, it’s not okay,” she sniffled. “I shouldn’t have said the things I said to you. Please, forgive me.”“Please, can you stop?” Karl said gently.“No, Karl, I have every reason to be grateful. You literally married me—even though you hated me—just to cover for my shame. And you let me get revenge on your brother. As much as I hate all of this, my

As soon as Prince Karl left the clinic, he called his head of security.“Major Felix, I want to know who is behind the attack on my wife. Find out everything you can before the day runs out.”“Noted, Boss. I’m on it. In fact, I’ve already sent word out in the streets.”“Good.”“Who are you talking to?” Isabella asked curiously as she approached him.“Not something you should worry about, dear,” he replied.⸻Three hours later, in the shadowed security room of the Redington Royal Palace, Prince Karl stood with his arms folded, staring at a series of surveillance feeds. His jaw was tight, his eyes burning with a mixture of fury and determination.“She didn’t do it,” he said finally, breaking the silence. “Aura didn’t leak that photo.”Across from him, one of his most trusted royal guards, Commander Miles, nodded.“We’ve been going through the press tip-offs from the last twenty-four hours, Your Highness. The royal clinic buzzed quietly with activity — hushed voices, the sterile scent of antiseptic, and the soft shuffle of nurses moving down polished marble floors. But inside one of the private consultation rooms, the fragile calm was being shattered by a low, heated argument that threatened to explode.“Aura, this isn’t the time for your games,” Khalid hissed, his voice low but laced with fury. His fists were clenched, his eyes sharp with accusation.Aura stood by the window, arms wrapped tightly across her chest as though holding herself together. Her face was pale, lips trembling with equal parts grief and anger. “You think I leaked that photo, don’t you?”Khalid didn’t answer. He didn’t need to. The silence stretched between them, thick and suffocating.Aura scoffed, shaking her head in disbelief. “Unbelievable. My father just died, Khalid. The only man who ever truly stood by me. And you’re standing here accusing me of destroying your precious royal family’s image?”She took a sha

The next morning, Isabella woke to find Karl beside her, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. When did he come in? she wondered, groggy and disoriented. Her head pounded with a dull ache. I must have really drank a lot yesterday. Gently, she eased his arm off her body and slipped out of bed. The memories from the masked club came flooding back—the music, the kiss, the sudden revelation that the man was her husband. Her cheeks flushed with heat. She needed a shower. A long, cold one. By the time she stepped out of the bathroom, steam curling around her, wrapped in a silk robe and towel-drying her hair, there was a soft knock on the bedroom door. It was hesitant, almost like whoever was outside didn’t want to be heard. She frowned. “Yes, come in,” she called. Two palace guards entered, heads bowed, visibly nervous. One clutched a folded newspaper in both hands. “Your Highness…” he said with a tremble in his voice, “This morning’s edition of the Redington Royal Digest. Y

Upstairs, the bedroom door slammed shut. Isabella yanked her hand away the moment they entered. “What the hell was that downstairs?” she demanded, her voice sharp, shaking with fury. Karl didn’t answer immediately. He was pacing, fists clenched at his sides, his jaw tight like he was holding himself back from a volcanic explosion. “I didn’t ask for this either,” Isabella said, stepping into his path, her tone rising. “Do you think I wanted to be assigned to work with your brother?” Karl spun around to face her, his eyes wild. “And yet you said nothing. You just sat there like you were perfectly fine with it.” “What was I supposed to say? No? Disobey the king?” she snapped. “You know I don’t have that luxury, Karl. I don’t have the privilege of stomping away from the table like a spoiled prince.” He glared at her, stepping forward. “You always find a way to look like the innocent one, don’t you?” Her mouth dropped open in disbelief. “Excuse me?” “Don’t act like you’re

The next morning, Prince Karl awoke to find Isabella’s side of the bed empty. It was unusual—he was always the first to wake. A flicker of confusion passed through his sleepy mind. Where could she have gone this early? He glanced at the clock. It was just after dawn. With a tired yawn, he tossed the covers aside and walked into the bathroom. He stopped dead in his tracks.Isabella was standing before the mirror, wrapped in his robe. Her damp hair clung to her shoulders, beads of water trailing down her bare neck. She had just stepped out of the shower, and the scent of lavender lingered in the air.She turned slowly, fluttering her lashes at him, and something in Karl’s chest tightened. Her beauty was maddening. Soft. Raw. Intimate. She was radiant in the early morning light—and yet the ache in her eyes tugged at him more than her body ever could. For a moment, neither of them spoke. She looked at him like she was seeing someone she couldn’t have.He looked at her like he didn’t know

It was dinnertime at the royal palace. The grand chandelier cast a golden glow over the long, polished mahogany dining table. Prince Karl was already seated with his father, Duke Stark, and his brother, Prince Khalid. The aroma of roasted lamb, truffle mashed potatoes, and herb-glazed carrots filled the room—but something was amiss.“Where is your wife?” the King asked, raising a brow as he reached for his wine.Prince Karl blinked, glancing toward the entrance. “She’s supposed to be here,” he replied, a faint crease forming on his forehead. He’d assumed she was just taking a stroll in the courtyard after his nap, but now—something felt off. He pushed the thought aside, not wanting to show concern.“I believe she’s fine,” he added, dismissively, trying to focus on the plated delicacies in front of him. Only now did he realize how hungry he actually was.“Trouble in paradise?” Prince Khalid smirked, biting into his bread roll with smug satisfaction.“You wish,” Karl snapped back, grabb

Oh, Daddy…” Aura’s voice broke as she stepped into the ICU, her eyes flooding with tears. Her heart clenched at the sight of her father, Duke Miles, lying still and pale on life support. Monitors beeped softly in the background, echoing the fragility of the once powerful man before her.He looked nothing like the robust figure she had always known. The Duke’s face was pale and gaunt, tubes and wires connecting him to machines that fought desperately to keep him alive. It was a brutal sight, one that shattered every ounce of pride Aura had left.According to the royal bodyguards outside the room, his car had veered off the road and fallen into a steep valley. But that didn’t sit well with her.“His driver has always been cautious,” Aura whispered through clenched teeth. “He never speeds, never takes unnecessary risks. What really happened? Was someone trying to kill my father… or was this just cruel fate?”Her voice, already hoarse from hours of weeping, cracked under the weight of des

Prince Khalid was lost in thought, his expression unreadable as he stared out over the estate gardens. His mind kept circling the urgent phone call that had dragged Prince Karl away from the breakfast table. Something about the tone in Madam Eunice’s voice hadn’t sat right with him.Across the room, Aura fumed. She had watched him brood for long enough. Her patience was thinning by the second.“Let’s go swimming, my love,” she said, trying to lighten the mood, brushing her fingers across his shoulder in an attempt at seduction.“You go ahead,” he replied flatly, not even looking at her. “I need to think.”Aura’s hand dropped to her side. “What are you thinking about? Isabella?”His silence was damning.“You think I haven’t noticed how your eyes follow her around like a drone? What do you take me for?” she snapped, her voice rising in frustration.Khalid blinked and turned to her, his brows furrowed. “What are you ranting about?”“Oh, don’t you dare act clueless!” she seethed, storming
