Chapter 4

 George POV

  "Your Majesty,it's time for court" I groaned,I can't even rest,my day and schedule is always packed.

    I leaned on the chair and sighed

Being a King is tiring,the weight the crown bears is too much.

    "Your Majesty it time" Alfred reminded me again.

I stood up reluctantly

   "Prepare my clothes" I ordered

 And soon my clothes were brought in and I changed.

    I went out and rolls of servants followed me.

    "Reena,the palace looks so beautiful,it splendid,there's so much to steal" A voice caught my attention and I stopped walking.

   I glanced in the direction of the voice,and saw a girl in a blue dress. The dress is simple and elegant,just right for her.I can only see her side view and her maid was behind her.

  

  The maid looked troubled

"My Lady,you promised not to steal again,and this is the palace if you steal…."

"I know Reena,we are only here for the compensation" this time she turned to look at her maid so I could see her face clearly. I was stunned immediately

   I have seen a lot of beautiful women but she's exceptional,she looked very beautiful and natural,I bet she wore no make-up.

    I love the way she was pouting and the way her cheek went in any time she smiled.

  She's the epitome of beauty.

Her face was so small and round that it could fit my hands,if only…..

   "Your Majesty the court" Alfred interrupted my thought and I glared at him.

   I looked in her direction again and noticed she was gone.

  I frowned and wondered where she could have gone.

   "She must be part of the noble ladies that came for the selection" Alfred chipped in as soon as he saw I was interested in her.

  I nodded she must be part of them,I continued walking and remembered she said something about stealing

  'she must be a petty theif,a pretty petty theif,quite interesting huh?' I smirked and can't wait to see her again.

    

    I hastened my step,the court was waiting,I suddenly felt less tired.

     I escaped from my study after the court.I know it will take a while before Alfred is gone,but I need to clear my head.

   So I decided to go to the garden

I was on my way when I saw the one on my thoughts the whole morning.

    She seems conflicted and deep in thought,

  

   I noticed she was not conscious of her surroundings so I went towards her.

I purposely walked in front of her and did not dodge when she bumped into me.

    The collision of her head with my chest must be painful as she wails out immediately.

 

   "What the hell? Who the fuck….." She swears very unlady-like but I don't mind.She raised her gaze and met mine and swallowed what she was saying.

    I know she was checking me out,but I kept a frank face,I can't help but be grateful to Mom and Dad for their good gene. It's one of the rare moments I feel good about my looks.

  

      I guess I got her attention

"You done?" 

"Huh?" She was still staring at me smiling wildly.

 "Are you done drooling?" I asked and that seems to wake her up.

 "What the…." She must like cursing cause she almost cursed again.

 

   "I'm sorry" she stepped back and apologized,she seemed to be holding herself back.

  She passed by me and was going in the direction of the garden,since I was going to the garden I just followed her.

   She turned back and saw me. She shrugged and continued.

  I walked behind her in silence,watching her side view and smiling to myself.

    She reached the garden and I went in,I thought she wouldn't come in since the garden is prohibited except for me of course.

    She came in anyways

"Why are you in here" I glared at her but she smiled back if only she knows how cute her smile is

   "It's a garden,so I came any problems?"

"It prohibited,only the King is permitted to come in" I replied thinking she will get scared but she fired back a question

  "Then why are you here? Are you His Majesty?" I wanted to nod my head yes but decided not to

 She waited to hear my reply,but when she saw i wasn't replying she frowned

 

 "You aren't are you?" 

"I'm not" she chuckled after I said that 

"Then it our secret"

"Our secret?" We now have a secret,that was quite fast.

  "Yes our secret" 

We already have a secret after meeting 30 minutes ago.

 She's not like other court ladies,she's different

   I went to the bench in the middle of the garden and sat,she sat next to me and we were like that for a while.

  "Gosh! Reena would be worried" she exclaimed and stood up in hurry and ran towards the exit.

   "Courtney" she suddenly stopped and said to me

"What?" I was confused

" Courtney, that 's my name," she yelled and left.

   I looked at the exit and grinned

"Courtney,it just as beautiful as you are," I chuckled.

  I should leave Alfred would have started looking for me.

  I got to my courtyard

"Where is his Majesty? Where has he been ? I have always told you to look after him, what if he was kidnapped ? Can you bear…."

  "Mother,I'm not kidnapped I just went for a walk" I entered my study and found mother punishing the maids.

     "Your Majesty,you got me worried,where have you been?"she walks briskly to me checking me out to see if I am fine.

    Mom worries too much about maybe she forgets for a fact that am the King

    "Thank goodness you are fine,do you have lunch?"

"I will soon,why are you here?"

"I came to tell you about the dinner with the ladies,you will have the opportunity to meet them all " she grinned and pulled me to a cushion.

   "Do I have to do this?"

"Of course you have to,this has been going on for years,you can't avoid it,that was how I and your Dad met" she pat me on my head.

    "And I heard something interesting" she smirked and I knew whatever she heard wasn't anything good.

"What is it?" I lean closer to her

"Alfred told me one of the ladies caught your eyes,so is she beautiful? Humble?What does she look like? Is she?...."

"Mom…" I glared at Alfred and he quickly lowered his gaze.

 

   "So have you met with her? Do you…." She seems to be having fun.i massage my temple.

   "Mom, go have lunch,I have stuff to do"I pulled her up and pushed her towards the door.

    "Are you sending me away?"

"How can I? I just got a lot to do"She struggled and tried to stand still but I put a bit of force and pushed her out.

    "Hey,do you realize the fact that I am your mother? What kind of King are you?" She shouted but I kept the door locked.

   "We will meet by the dining hall,you can't escape me you hear?" Her voice was getting further and further away.

  I shaked my head,Mother loves me too much,she doesn't raise the way Royalties raise their kids,she has always been a caring and loving mother to me.

   I do have cousins that are afraid of their mother and father, they were raised to be heartless as A King is supposed to be emotionless. An emotionless King makes a great King as they said.

  "Alfred my lunch" I got back to my cushion,I smiled when I remembered about the dinner.

    "Guess we are meeting soon Courtney" I whispered to no one in particular.
