“What is all this about Mark?” Kate barged into my office tossing the file in her hand at me. Shelooks livid and I feel so glad to see her in this state.
I stared down at it with a reserved gaze. I have been expecting the outburst. It took her quite long. I sniffed, unfazed. “What do you mean?” “You bastard! You know exactly what you did. Why in the world is the budget for the project cut down so low?” She questioned. “I am not the financial officer. Why ask me such a question?” “Because I was told you would only append your signature if the budget was cut so low.” “Well, I am not going to deny saying it. What I do not understand is what you want from me.” She scoffed looking livid. “How far do you intend to go with this sour attitude? It is understandable if you do not like me. Kate’s POV“Do you have anything to prove to us that it isn’t true?” Another board member asked.Something seemed to have gotten stuck in my throat. The file had a report of the budget spenton all of the projects that I have handled in the last two years. The approved board budget wasthere and the amounts were disbursed.
