Kate’s POV

“I am going to miss you so much. I should come to see you and Karen soon.” I muttered as I held Marilyn’s hand.

She chuckled tightening her grip on my hand. “I will miss you too. Just make sure you take good care of yourself and don’t get into any trouble.”

“I will try.”

“You really should. Don’t think I don’t see the worried lines on your forehead. If it were up to me, I think you have won and there is no need to keep putting yourself in harm's way.”

Her words reminded me of the recent argument I had with Dame. Fear gripped me hard when had held onto my hand tightly. My life practically flashed before my eyes.

“The only way I wouldn’t be in contact with him is if I leave this pack. And that is impossible now. The company is still under his rule and I need to take that away from him. All I am doing is paying him back in his own coin.”
