Levi POV

I watched mom and Aviva interact. I was desperately hoping that mom would at least give Aviva a chance, even if she wasn't completely on board with our relationship. I'd never seen mom this open before, and it gave me hope that maybe she was starting to come around.

Aviva was handling it like a champ, her smile never faltering. She'd always been stronger than she looked, and it made me love her even more.

Mom continued, her voice still firm, "I suppose...I suppose I'm going to have to get used to this. But if you ever do anything to hurt my son, I won't hesitate to step in. Do you understand?"

Aviva nodded, her eyes never leaving my mom's, "I would never dream of it, Mrs. Santos. I love Levi with all my heart, and I would never want to hurt him in any way. Please know that I'll always be there for him, no matter what."

" I hope so, even from your Dad, because that might end up bringing out the demons in me!" Mom added and Aviva nodded.

Levi POVI stared at the court summons. So this was Joel's next move? A court summons? What a low blow.I couldn't help but chuckle dryly. I had expected a confrontation, maybe even a heated argument, but a court summons? He must have really meant it when he said he'd make me pay.But there was no way I was going to back down now. This was my chance to prove my innocence, to show that I hadn't done anything wrong. I'd been honest with Joel from the beginning, telling him that Aviva and I had fallen in love. I had 20 days to respond. But what could I possibly say? That I was innocent? That Joel was the one who ruined his marriage, not me?Several thoughts came to mind, rereading the summons over and over. I knew I had to talk to Aviva about this, she had to know what Joel was up to. But then what's the use, it would be better off if i handle it myself at least she should focus on her career setup. No, I had to handle this myself. This was my problem, my fight. And if Joel wanted to pl

Levi POV“ Why won’t it?”I scoffed at the lawyer’s replies, “Are you serious? That’s insane! I can’t make Aviva do anything she doesn’t want to. And even if I could, there’s no way in hell she’s going back to that monster.”The lawyer looked at me, narrowing his eyes. “Fine, then we’ll see you in court.” He turned on his heel, walking off down the hallway.Joel walked out of the court room and stared at me, " you're indeed stubborn and i'll make sure you lose more than you think" “You’ve got this all wrong, Joel. This isn’t about being stubborn. It’s about doing what’s right. I won’t stand by and watch you destroy Aviva’s life just because your ego can’t take a hit.”“Oh, but you’re willing to destroy MY life?” Joel spat back. “You’ve taken everything from me. my wife, my dignity, my reputation. You think you can just waltz in here and win? You’ve got another thing coming.”I held my ground. “I never set out to destroy you, Joel. But I’m not going to apologize for falling in love wit

Levi POVJoel’s lawyer, sensing he was losing ground, spoke up quickly. “The lack of a wedding ceremony does not determine the legal obligations of a marriage, Your Honor. The judge considered both arguments before turning to Joel’s lawyer. “Mr. Tremblay, do you have any evidence that Mr. Santos actively sought to ruin your marriage with Ms. Rogers, aside from their romantic relationship?”Joel’s lawyer hesitated. “Your Honor, my client believe that the affair itself is proof of Mr. Santos’s malicious intent. He pursued a relationship with Ms. Rogers despite knowing she was married.”“While the affair may be distasteful, it is not a criminal act. Unless you have proof that Mr. Santos actively sought to sabotage the marriage, you cannot accuse him of malicious intent.”The lawyer looked flustered, scrambling through his files again.I breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed like the judge was seeing through Joel’s accusations.Joel’s lawyer, unable to find the evidence he needed, sat back

You were right all along.”Sara beamed, pleased with herself. “So, what’s next for you two lovebirds? Go back to your love net?” I smiled, looking down at Aviva."You ruined it all!" Aviva POV I spent the night at Levi's place but I couldn't get a good night's rest even when Levi wrapped his hands around me. All I could think about was Mom, I know she did me dirty by not helping me when dad dragged me away but still she's still my mom. " Are you okay?" Levi groaned awake seeing my eyes opened. " Ehmm i'm fine" “You're lying,” Levi said gently, stroking my hair. “I know you're thinking about your mom. We can talk about it if you want.”I sighed, feeling frustrated, “It's just...I know she was wrong to side with dad, but she's always been there for me. I don't want to abandon her.”Levi shifted slightly, so he could face me. “I get that. Family’s complicated, especially when you feel they don't have your best interests at heart. But you also need to put yourself first, Aviva. Your mom made her choice.”His words hit home, and I swallowed hard, tears stinging my eyes. “I know,” I whispered, trying to keep my voice steady. “I’m just...not sure I’m ready to face tha

  • Her Return-Her Revenge   I’LL PAY

Aviva POVMom’s words stung, Asking Levi to pay for Dad’s debt? It felt wrong, so wrong, to even consider. But Mom had a point. If Levi loved me, wouldn’t he do anything for me? But on another thought I shake it off.“Mom, I can’t ask Levi to do that,” I protested, “It’s not fair to him.”“And is it fair to us? To your father?” I stared at Mom, lost for words. How could I explain to her that this wasn’t about fairness? That it was about something deeper, something that exceeds money and material possessions? “I know this is hard for you to understand, Mom,” I whispered, “But I’m doing what I think is right. I’m not going to let Joel win, and I’m not going to let Dad’s debt destroy my life. I’ll find a way to pay it back.”" Pay it back? Joel won't give us years to pay back. He said in days!" • Her Return-Her Revenge   Weakness

Levi POVI sat in my office, replaying all that Aviva had said to me a while ago. For the past months my company ByteForge Technology has been going through a severe rough patch, is the breach thing Aviva talked about the cause? I sat down wondering.I paced around my office. Aviva’s words echoed in my mind, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. The security breach she mentioned could be the work of a disgruntled former employee? Or could it be something more sinister? As the CEO of ByteForge Technology I have to take this seriously. If someone was targeting our company, we needed to be prepared. But was Aviva telling the truth? Or was she part of something more nefarious? My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.“Come in,” I called, returning to my desk and trying to appear composed. My assistant, James, entered,“Sir, we’ve been contacted by Global Reach Enterprises. They want to speak with you about a…potential collaboration.”“Potential collaboration?

Aviva POVElara’s laughter faded away as she walked out, I could practically feel the tension in the room. We all knew what was at stake, what would happen if we failed.“Okay,” Parker said, breaking the silence. “So we get in, find the backup server, and get the info. Sounds simple enough.”I knew it wouldn’t be that simple, not with the high stakes and the security precautions in place. But I also knew that Parker was trying to lighten the mood, trying to keep us focused. The three of us left the conference room, each of us lost in our own thoughts. I could feel my legs getting heavy, making every step feel heavy and slow.“Don’t worry, Aviva,” Armstrong said, putting a hand on my shoulder. “We’ve got this. We’re going to get the information and get out, no problem.” I nodded, trying to smile. But I couldn’t help but feel creeped out. Something about this mission felt…off.Soon it got dark and we made our way towards Byteford Technology headquarters, disguising ourselves as janitors

I sat down in the chair across from her, feeling as if I were being measured and weighed, Elara leaned back in her chair, her eyes fixed on me. “I’m not going to lie to you, Miss Rogers. We’re desperate. Our recent ventures haven’t been as successful as we’d hoped, and we’re in need of new blood.”A chill ran down my spine at her words. “And you believe I’m the right person for the job?”Elara smiled, a cold, calculating smile. “I believe you have potential, Miss Rogers. Aviva POVThe disciplinary committee was a panel of three stern faced executives, each with a folder of documents in front of them. Bianca took her seat at the head of the table.“Aviva Rogers,” she said, her voice clear and authoritative. “You stand accused of falsifying company records and conspiring with other employees to undermine the authority of your superiors. How do you plead?”I opened my mouth to protest, but the words died on my lips. I knew it was useless. Bianca had made up her mind.“We have compiled a significant amount of evidence,” one of the disciplinary committee interjected, “But we’re willing to offer you a deal. If you confess, we’ll let you leave with a slightly more favorable recommendation.”I glared at him, my hands balled into fists under the table. “I didn’t do anything wrong,” I replied instead of pleading, “I refuse to confess to crimes I didn’t commit. I was set up!”The committee members exchanged glances, “Very well,” Bianca smirked,“We will proceed

Feeling renewed with hope, I returned to my desk and began sorting through the files, dividing them up among Jeff, Clara, Dana and Sarah who suggested she would help. We’d have to work quickly and discreetly, and we can do it.The hours passed, we passed the files around, each of us working on different sections. We didn’t talk, didn’t even look at each other.
