A Moment Interrupted

" I love you" was the next thing I heard, I looked up to see Jasper smiling at me.

My heart skipped a beat on hearing Jasper's words. I blinked, unsure if I’ve heard him correctly. But then he steps forward, reaching out to brush a strand of hair behind my ear.

"I never stopped loving you, Selena," he said. "And I know we've got a lot of work to do to rebuild what we had. But if you're willing to try, I am too."

My breath catched up in my throat and I leaned closer. Jasper pulled me much closer, his arms wrapping around me in a warm, secure embrace.

"I've missed you," he whispers, his lips brushing against my ear. "I've missed this."

I closed my eyes, "I've missed you, too," I whispered back. We stayed that way wrapped in a hug.

“We should probably start with the contract," Jasper broke the silence, pulling away slightly but kept his other hand on my back. "Mr. Santos will be expecting it to be signed."
