Luke’s POV

Caught off guard by my father's directness, I took a deep breath, waiting for whatever challenge my father had planned for me. This was the moment that I had trained for, the moment that would define my legacy as an alpha.

"I am ready, Father," I answered, my voice steady as I kept my nerves at bay. "I will do whatever it takes to protect and guide our pack, to uphold our traditions and ensure our prosperity."

My father's eyes gleamed with approval and admiration, silently acknowledging his trust in me.

"My son," his father's voice broke through his reverie, "you have shown great courage and wisdom. I am proud to call you my heir, my successor. Together, we will lead our pack to greatness." Alpha Aaron's tone was suddenly serious as he requested, "Luke, I need you to visit the city for me and observe some rogues rumoured to be causing problems. We can’t have them bringing troubles to our pack.”

I nodded, my mind racing about how to approach the task. "Of course, Father.

Isla’s POV As our son left us alone to prepare for his next mission, I turned to my mate, my Alpha. “Are we doing the right thing here?” I questioned him with a hint of uncertainty in my tone. Aaron frowned and grabbed my hand, gently pulling me to his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my forehead. “My Luna, of course, we are doing the right thing. Luke can handle this, and besides, neither of us wants to have Carrie out of our sights, do we?” He said quietly. He was right, of course. We had always been on edge with what we could and could not allow our daughter to do and go. It was a cruel world that we had both learned the hard way. Since Carrie had shown those healing abilities, I became even more concerned for her safety. Surely, she could understand that we loved her with all our hearts and only wanted what was best for her. She needed our protection, being at risk of harm from anyone deemed an enemy. “So, what will we do?” I turned to face my mate

However, I knew the risks would be higher if she were to go with me. I wanted to be able to protect her, but I needed to focus entirely on the task my father had set for me. Becoming Alpha would mean proving myself."Father," I began, my voice steady despite my churning emotions. I am ready to depart for the city. I rose from the couch where I had slept, my muscles stiff from the long planning night. Her determination was palpable and fueled my resolve to see this mission through. After breakfast, we set out into the city, the morning air filled with anticipation and tension. I was ready to move in. But just as we were about to execute our plan, a loud crash echoed through the warehouse. The sound sent a shiver down my spine. "What was that?" I whispered to Rachel, my eyes scanning the rooftop. Rachel's expression turned grim. "I think we've got a problem." A figure emerged from the shadows, a figure that didn't belong to our group. It was a tall, imposing figure with piercing blue eyes and a menacing grin. "Ah-ah looks like we've got some unwanted guests," he drawled, his voice dripping with malice. My instincts screamed a warning. This was not part of our plan. The rogue group was about to get a lot more complicated. "Who are you?" Rachel demanded, her hand on her gun. The stranger smiled again. "I'm just here for the party. You're just in time to join us." My grip on my gun tightened. This was not what we were expecting. Who was this guy? And what did he want? "Let's play nice," I suggested, my voice low and even. "We're here to stop

Carrie’s POV I woke up with a start, my heart racing and my sheets soaked with sweat. The dream had been vivid, and I could still feel the panic and fear coursing through my veins. My brother, Luke, was in danger, and I could feel it like a weight in my chest. I sat up, rubbing my eyes and trying to shake off the lingering feelings of dread. But as I looked around my darkened room, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. I glanced at the clock on my bedside table - it was 2:45 AM. I knew that he was still in the city, on a mission to deal with the rogue wolves who had been causing trouble in the packs. Our parents had sent him there to help resolve the situation, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. I knew that I should have been allowed to go with him. I could have helped him, and we would have protected each other like we had all our lives. My parents were far too protective of me, and it drove me insane. I threw off my covers and exited th

We were no longer just a pack of wolves; we were a force of nature, an unquenchable flame ignited by our collective resilience and unity. With every heartbeat, the anticipation surged through us, amplifying each flicker of power as we stood against him, determined to banish the darkness that had haunted the edges of our lives. “Enough!” he roared, charging at me, the darkness pooling around him in a furious torrent. I could feel the malevolence radiating off him like heat from a fire, trying to instil fear within our hearts. Yet, as he bore down on me, I could see the uncertainty behind that ferocity. He was no longer the predator; he was desperate. “Together!” I shouted again, urging my pack to rally. Carrie and Ryder poured their strength into the barrier of light that Rachel had conjured, reinforcing it as we prepared for his assault. As the black wolf lunged toward me, time seeme

Our shared bond pulsed like a heartbeat, commanding me to fight back.“You think you can break free?” the black wolf taunted, his voice echoing through the night like thunder. “This realm belongs to the darkness now!”Ignoring his bravado, I focused on the shared energy radiating from my packmates. Each heartbeat was a reminder of what we stood to lose. We were more than just a collection of wolves—we were a family woven together by our struggles, victories, and unbreakable bonds. “Together!” I shouted, pulling every ounce of strength from my soul and feeling the power surge to the surface. “We won’t give in!”

The day's events had spread like wildfire, and now everyone was on edge. I stood before them, clearing my throat to capture their attention.“I know today was a close call,” I began, my voice steady despite the adrenaline rush still coursing through me. “But we are stronger than we realise. They will come again, and when they do, we need to be prepared.”Ryder stepped forward, his eyes flashing with intensity. “I suggest we step up patrols immediately. We’ve already started gathering everyone for a watch rotation. We can’t let them have the upper hand.” The pack murmured

Luke’s pov We returned to the pack, exhausted but determined. Our parents were already there, discussing the situation with the other pack members. "I think we should split our pack into smaller groups and patrol the surrounding areas," my father suggested. "We need to catch these rogues off guard and take them down before they can do any more harm." I nodded in agreement. "I think that's a good idea, father. But we also need to come up with a plan to protect Carrie. She's the key to this whole thing." Carrie looked up at me, her eyes still flashing with anger. "I don't need protection," she growled. "I can take care of myself." But I knew that wasn't true. The rogues were too strong, too cunning. She needed our help to stay safe. Even if she was powerful and able to beat anyone down. We still needed to protect her as she got used to her powers and understood them better. Ryder suddenly stepped forward. "I'll stay with her," he said. "We'll keep her safe, no matter wha

I wouldn't let anything happen to her, and as the future alpha, I had to stand my ground. “What do you want from this pack? Why don't you leave and never return? You're not welcome here.” I growled as the prominent rogue leader finally stood before us. He eyed me curiously before a cunning smirk formed on his face. “You came to the city. Your sister came after you. She was nice enough to leave her portal open so we could return here. What we want is behind you.” he answered gruffly. I glanced to my side and realised that he was referring to Carrie. He wanted Carrie. All this was about my sister. “We have been searching for her for many years now. You see, she isn't like any of you. She isn't one of you.” he explained, and I felt my sister tremble with confusion behind me. “You're not taking her anywhere. She's my mate.” Ryder snarled, and I held him

What was his story? And what did he have to do with my sister? My mother's words echoed in my mind - "stop her". But I knew it was too late. Carrie was determined to follow her heart, regardless of anyone else's thoughts. Carrie’s POV I could feel the weight of my parents' disapproval bearing down on me as we walked away from them. I knew they would never understand me, never accept Ryder as my mate. But I didn't care. I was done being controlled, done being told what to do and who to be with. Ryder squeezed my hand, his grip tight and reassuring.
